Probably the most underrated family film on this planet. For year and years I’ve kept this film in my heart. There is something about it that is so unforgettable. I really think this movie is the perfect way you can explain death to a child without frightening them at all. Still to this day the scene where Mr Magorium says his final words to Molly Mahoney gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. It has an absolutely beautiful somber, and well put together message that we all become adults but you shouldn’t leave you’re childhood all behind, you take some of it with you. In other words, “You’re Life Is An Occasion, Rise To It.” I've become obsessed with listening to the soundtrack, The beautiful, wonderful score with that iconic tune. It was one of the first biggest themes I learned to play it on the piano now I’ve come so far with my piano skills, the main melody in this movie was one of my father and grandfathers favorite songs that I could play on the piano. You have Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Jason Bateman, three iconic actors who I was introduced to from this film. This movie is SO underrated, it's beautiful, meaningful, and unique, the whole film truly is MAGICAL!
I had a similar moment to mahoney's here when I taught myself how to sculpt. Breathing even more life into my drawings was very euphoric. Now I'm finally on my way to making toys like I always wanted to. This August I go to college for cad drafting and design. I hope to bring you all beautiful and fun additions to our vast world of play and imagination: )
This instrumental moment at the end of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a picture of what every artist, every creator longs for--an awakening. A coming to life of one's sense of purpose, a sense of waking to their own worth and value, and to the awe of living in a world of childlike wonder as they make their thing.
This song reminds me of when I think of just drifting somewhere. It's a rhapsody if you think about it. Listen closely to the music in the entire movie. You hear all the different sections of the movie in one song. It's a colorful colossian of notes of music mixed together.
If you play the final 2 minutes of the song: ‘Happier Than Ever’ by Billie Eilish along with parts of this scene, it fits so well, I’m not even joking. Molly Mahoney’s conducting and dancing to bring the store fits so well with the music of that part of the song.
This is why I hate IMDb and rotten tomatoes. They rate these movies like crap when actually I think the people rating them judge the movies so hard it’s just a bit of fun like chill. I’d watch this over any film they rate “good” any day
The tragedy of this film was that it was mis-sold as a modern Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. Molly finally completing her symphony was the perfect ending (or beginning, as they say here!). Beautiful story of grief.
I saw this movie in the theater back when it came out with some of my family. During this ending scene, I looked over at my brother and he was already looking at me. We gave each other a look and shook our heads, confirming that this was the gayest shit that we had ever seen. No offense to anyone who likes this movie but I would rather let an Australian rugby player kick me in the balls than watch this again.
Dare I say this is the most underrated movie of all time!!!

By the time we reach the 2020's. Movies will never be worth watching on the big screen. Were never gonna have good movies like these ever again.
I beg to differ, as long as we have creative people among us, we will always have great stories in the form of movies 😁

David Rogers so why did you specifically come to this video to watch it again... i’m assuming you got a good kick to the balls.
David Rogers you could just walk out if you didn’t like the movie unless of course it was just this scene
"Gayest shit" ... Serously?
Then why are you watching this lol
