  • I recently got a group of emerald green corydoras from Petco and after a stint in quarantine they were added to my 6 foot 84 gallon community tank. I've had another group of emerald green corys in a 10 gallon for years now and they're huge. The oldest I've had over 4 years. I decided to add this group to join the others in the 84 gallon which makes ten altogether, 4 huge and 6 small. I think they'll be fun to watch as the little kids and big kids play together.

I have emerald green Cory catfish too and I thought they were gonna look tiny in my tank, but they turned out to be massive!

These are Green Corys, aka Bronze Corys (Corydoras Aeneus), not Emerald Green Corys( Brochus Splendens, now known as Corydoras Splendens.
    Nice setup, fish look great!

Thanks for the clarification. I've been flip-flopping on the name as I wasn't sure then just settled on emerald green corydoras since that's what PetSmart labeled them.

How are these guys doing? Couple of things, aren't these green corys which I thought are slightly different then the emerald corys (more spikes on dorsal)? That being said I recently rescued a few fish and the only one left in my tank is a single emerald Cory. They get to big to get him any friends in my tank, would you be interested in adding it to your school, if they are still going? I am also in Vegas.

The Cory's are good. They haven't spawned in a while or I haven't seen it if they have. They might be green or bronze corys. I thought I might have been misidentifying them. I missed your comment at the time, but if there's any chance you're still looking to unload yours, it could be added to this group.

Thanks Lazarus. I knew they were big but now I'm noticing their large size even more after moving them and seeing them side by side with the new ones I got recently.

Hey question...in my 55g denison barb tank I've got 8 different species of corys...yes I've gone cory crazy. I'm not a beginner so thus might be a stupid question, but I'm about to order 6 pygmy corys for my 15g white cloud tank. Do you think 15g is big enough?

Denison barbs and several cory species as described sounds like a fun tank. Do you keep any other fish in it with them? Pygmy corys would be plenty comfortable in a 15g IMO.

@jeffsaquariumhobbyenjoymen9468 I've got 1 tricolor angelfish and 2 blue zebra phillipino angelfish, 10 praecox rainbows (7 females 3 males), 3 platys, a powder blue dwarf guarami, a hillstream loach, a lastly my favorite fish in the whole tank, my golden blue eyed longfin bristlenose pleco. He's just so chill. I can even touch him...which is odd behavior from the previous ones I've had

@@FishRfun I'd love to see that community tank. Have you considered making a video to submit on RUclips?

@jeffsaquariumhobbyenjoymen9468 naw not really. I'm really not a social media type person. I think videos about aquariums and fish, and roller-coaster videos are all I use RUclips for. I don't do any other social media at all. I gave all that up several years ago.

I've been breeding green corys for a while now, a real nice underrated cory. Nice to see the greens getting some love.

Yeah, I enjoy watching your cory breeding videos. I intend to focus on trying to breed them at some point and will use your methods when that time comes.

A group of those or any corydoras species are a lot of fun to watch. Then when they start breeding and seeing different sizes and ages with large adults and small juveniles all scurrying around together, the enjoyment gets enhanced.
