    Re-uploaded this with slightly higher volume (well as much as I could get on Final Cut). A few people have asked me about supporting the channel so I have set up a Buy me a Coffee site. ☕️If you'd like to say thank you and support my channel then you can do so at my Buy me a Coffee page: @t

    Tuned in to learn a song but ended up being mesmerized with the playing and staring at that beautiful guitar.

    Yes!! I've been trying to get into this song as my entry point to taking jazz guitar seriously. Having a video about it from one of my favourite guitar educators on the net sure helps! Thanks, Andy!

      I hope it helps 👍 The next few lessons are cover some ways to work on soloing.

    This is an excellent video and love every video you do as there is always something to take away! I use that minor run down a lot in my play now especially with licks in between and instead of top many bars on one chord so thanks Andy!!

    Hi Andy, Another solid treatment of the chords and harmony on this classic Andy. Took me a while to get to dig into this first lesson on Autumn Leaves but ready to jump into your whole sequence on this one now :) This provides a great foundation to move into the soloing. Going to send you (email) an updated recording of If I had you with some further observations made. Really love that song, Best wishes!

      Hi Bill, yes I think you'll get a lot from these lessons based on the video you sent. I think you will just keep hearing more, getting more comfortable with chord tones and as a result more fluent at soloing in the moment. I look forward to hearing your progress. Best wishes to you :)

    Andy I'm new to your channel but subscribed because nobody else is covering standards this thorough. Can you tell me where to find the chord charts with the chord shapes like you use in your video? All the other REAL BOOKs I see are chord charts only. Thank you for your help and sharing your knowledge on guitar!

    I often see a IV chord in the 4th bar following a major 2-5-1. It this just a simple movement in 4ths? I don't see any notes in the CM7 that leads it into the F#m7b5 in the 5th bar.

    • @jazzguitarwithandy
      @jazzguitarwithandy  Год назад +1

      That's actually a couple shared notes there. CEGB going into F# A C E- The E and C being shared notes. The G is also only a semitone away from the F#. It's a nice movement 😎

    • @donlessnau3983
      @donlessnau3983 Год назад

      Right. I overlooked the shared notes and semitone link btw G and F# . Thnks Andy. This harmonic analysis is really cool stuff.
