    Loved your video! I'm amazed that all the fertilizing was that one spike. My tree produced about 1/3 of that, and I was excited. Now I see I need to water it more and protect it from the sun a bit. I'm going for a bigger pot this season and support the branches! I'm truly inspired!

      Why do you harvest while the lemons are still have green areas on them? Most of the videos I’ve seen say to wait until the lemons are fully yellow or yellowish with a tint of orange color. That said, you have a very healthy tree. The other videos say to water once a week. You seem to water every other day to every day. Do you live in Florida? We live in New York State.

    This is my second season of having mine, got it from Home Depot last may. Started blooming in March/April. I have one lemon. Still very green. I was worried it was mislabeled lime. It was good to see yours turn yellow by September so I’ll wait till the end of the year and see what happens.

    November 6th and you can keep your Meyer Lemon tree outside,this is great. I don’t think I can do this here in southern Germany.

    Your lemons are very beautiful, have you perhaps measured the total weight, it is probably 7-8kg, it would be good to compare the weight of the lemons in the coming years.

    How many years have you had this tree? I got 2 this year, one with 2 lemons still on tree and currently both trees under grow lights, 12 hours/day. Lots of flowers and looks like I have potential for many lemons if all goes well. But my Owaris started out with 2 fruits first year, but this year was a bust, with 2 inedible green fruits. one plant likely to go in ground soon and with luck, it wont die. Transplanted from plastic pot to grow bag and no roots on outside next to pot which I heard may be from solar heat on black pot. Bottom was a tangle, so thinned those roots and will see if it survives once it gets into ground. Nice to see success nearby my area so I have hope!

      Hi Callme gilligan, bought this during the summer of 2019 . It had one fruit when I bought it and next year onwards it started producing really well. My owari Satsuma hasn’t produced any fruit since last two years. Once because I didn’t cover it whit started growing flower buds and I failed to cover the plant during freeze and everything froze and lost that year’s fruit. Last year we had an extreme freeze during January and again I didn’t protect it well. Hoping to see some fruit this year. Fingers crossed.

      The tree keeps only what it can handle! Rest of the fruit are dropped. Please add some cow manure compost!

    I am new to this, but all other tutorial say i should only water every week or so...why you water everyday.. ? No afraid of root rot?

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  Год назад +2

      Depends on how hot your summers are. NC gets very hot in mid to upper 90’s pretty much every day in summer months and I have to water the plant every day to keep it in stable condition. All it needs is well draining soil and nothing to worry about root rot.

    Hi! Thanks for the video. What happen with the leaves after you harvest? I noticed the were greener when budding. Does the tree drop the leaves and grow new ones every season? I don't know what to expect from my new tree

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  2 года назад +3

      If you notice in the beginning of the video during January, the plant still had some leaves. Now in November the plant has lost 70 percent of its leaves. So I am pretty sure it will start new growth in another two months.

      I wanted to ask this also, my tree has only produced 5 lemons so far & it looks like I’ve lost a lot of leaves, I’m in SWFL & the tree is in the ground, maybe it gets too much sun? Will it continue to produce new fruit? What can I do to help it along? We don’t get freezing temps here in the winter

    • @ncgardeningandcookingadventure
      @ncgardeningandcookingadventure  2 месяца назад +1

      @willmattingly7084 probably it’s getting too much sun and less water. You can also add composted manure once or twice a year and water it more frequently.
