All mysteries can be solved not by having the right answers but by asking the right questions. Just discovered your channel and I'm impressed! Like yourself I am fascinated with human behavior and perceptions. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Hi Joe Musslewhite, thank you for your kind words. Great that we have a common interest. I'm currently working on an episode about how the Crusaders were perceived 1000 years ago by the Christians living in the areas that they invaded (greater Syria area). These insights come from an old manuscript that was recently digitised and translated properly. If you would be interested you can find the first episode about this manuscript here: ruclips.net/video/AU3GVWWdPDw/видео.html I wish you a great day and hope to see you again on Bold Books and Bones. Lieven

I don’t know if it’s appeared already in these comments but it may help with your appreciation. These are all wonderful subjects, especially the Brueghel pastoral scenes, and if you look really close you can usually find find someone in the background having a wee!
Dont forget the old times when pictures were scarce but when they appeared people were extremely observant about details and symbols. No surprise people could gather around a painting and drink and discuss.
Hello Lars, yes indeed. Back then we humans were not yet over stimulated by images and movies. No instagram and Netflix yet 😊. It must have been something to be able to see a painting for a couple of hours. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I hope you find more videos on my channel that might be of interest to you. Warm regards and enjoy the holiday season, Lieven 🌟📕📚🌟😊
Just an awesome video, I personally love that you put a lot of your own perspective into it. It's helped bring Breugel a lot closer for me. The production quality helps a lot. This series could easily be a TV show. Gefeliciteerd!
thanks for the three great videos about Bruegel. After watching them l bought the first book right away. Do you have a book about your observation theory?
Hello @id-ml2cp thank you for your kind message. Wonderful to hear that you liked the 3 episodes on Bruegel. It is for people like you that I made them 🙏🏽. No I don’t have a book on the “method” that I used, it is something that I learned through doing. In my job I have to observe a lot of people and this is one of the methods I like to keep in the back of my mind when consciously observing something or someone. FYI, I made an episode about silience on my channel. In which I use a painting of Bruegel to use another technique to gain information about a painting, namely to “listen” to a paining. We live in a time of overstimulation, overload of images. This makes us very superficial observers. In Bruegels time these paintings would have been studied, and by intelligentsia.
Fascinating. Thanks very much
Hello Frank, happy that you liked the episode. If you have the time Part 2 and Part 3 are also available on my channel 😊 I wish you a nice day. Lieven
This is excellent! Short, stimulating, captures the wonder of Bruegel and opens up his paintings in an accessible way. Thanks!
Thank you par15! Very appreciated. FYI, Part 2 is also out now ;-) ruclips.net/video/xp38O5jj2_A/видео.html
