Hello Robert, Thank you for your kind words. I'm happy that you liked the episode. Are you a fan of Bruegel the Elder? Maybe this episode might be of interest to you too, it is about a 1000 year old manuscript that is still read today. Even Nasa showed some interest in it :-) If you would have the time, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/AU3GVWWdPDw/видео.html I wish you a nice day.
Great series and great content...I ordered Tine’s book and looking forward to learning more about Bruegel. Enlightened, inspired and thank you. Bowie rocks.
Hi Miguel, Thank you for your kind words! Happy that you like the channel. Maybe you would like this episode also, it is about a Monk who protects books. If you would find the time, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/bvG45jYhDNE/видео.html I wish you a very nice day and hope to see you again soon on Bold Books and Bones 🌟🌟🌟📚📖
@@BoldBooksandBones Hi Lieven, yeah , a very interesting episode! … a lot to think about...A man as a link between past, present and future, a book as a tool to understand and (almost) predict the future, a secret stored backup copy for a post-apocalyptic scenario… Another great story in BBB. Somehow it has reminded me of the Svalbard global seed bank… an effort from a government to preserve plant seeds from natural disasters, wars, human ignorance… Waitning for the next episode PD: Sorry for this fictional book reference, but images of William of Baskerville saving books from fire comes to my mind.
William of Baskerville! Absolutely! I love The Name of the Rose. What a fantastic book. I talk about this book in the episode called: How the Renaissance started a very cool story, the link is here: ruclips.net/video/qVDq_0qF90A/видео.html and talking about books that are burning, you might like this episode too, called: The Burning of Books? This is the link: ruclips.net/video/2q9kR8agMSs/видео.html Enjoy your day and keep on enjoying books. Hope to see you again at BBX, Lieven
Thank you for your incredibly tremendous work! I was indeed fascinated watching these videos about Bruegel. And I fell in love with the painter even more than before. And the shooting set is also amazing! Keep on moving!

@@oceanaoushn8803 Yes that is a great painting from Bruegel! Many of the saying we still use today in my language (Flemish/Dutch). Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for making this video about Brueghel. I am going to use my "observation technique" to see : the background music is annoyingly loud in the 2nd minute of the video. (It's almost impossible to hear you talking.) Also, the music would be annoying even if it were not interfering with your talking. It's just unpleasant, jarring music. Now if you're using the jarring unpleasant music as a meta commentary about the jarring unpleasant devils of Bosch and Brueghel, OK fine clever, but still annoying. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts @irtnyc. Appreciated that you are not a fan of the music I used. I wish you and your family a healthy and successful 2024. Warm regards, Lieven
The issue is that while you're introducing your topic and the art historian, the sound of the music (I guess the mix or vocal frequencies?) drown-out what you're saying. Ears and hearing varies between people, but for me, I'd remix it... to avoud clobbering the intro. And balance the overall loudness of the music (and later transition effects sampled from the same music?) so they're not so bright. Separately, do you have a video on the winter series, or massacres? You're really good at digging into the Brueghels' work. And it's really important and under appreciated today.
Hi @irtnyc, no I don't have video's (yet) about the winter series, or massacre. There is a very good book about the Winter Scenes by Tine Meganck, in you are in the US, you could buy it here: bookshop.org/lists/three-experts-explaining-the-painter-pieter-bruegel-the-elder-part-1-2-and-3 In case you would be interested I made also two other episodes about Bruegel; You find them here: ruclips.net/video/wkeFIoZaGik/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/xp38O5jj2_A/видео.html Kind regards, Lieven
Utterly fascinating, thank you.
