The world where it came out after Britpop and sounds predominantly like a Britpop record? 🤔 Check out the mid 90s output of artists such as Feeder, Idlewild, Radiohead & Morrissey. For further listening, maybe also try Rialto & Longpigs.
@tokyochuchu I hear it in Jesse's weird faux-british vocal affectation and if I squint I can see it in a track like "The Boy who..." but to say it "sounds predominantly like a britpop record" is a stretch, surely? To me, it's a very American sounding emo/mature pop punk album at heart. I've always considered Idlewild / Feeder more alt-rock than Britpop personally. Thanks for turning me on to Rialto and Longpigs though, Ihadn't heard those guys.
nah the guernica disrespect is crazy 😭😭 i’m so glad you didn’t put deja at the top though, people act like that’s the best album ever made when all 3 albums after it are so much better
Good video! In what world is Deja a Britpop style record though?

Pretty good, I’d swap your fourth and third rankings.
Now that's a band name
