    Do not take it as advice, do your own due diligence before carrying out any work.
    Please ensure that you are gas safe registered and follow the current regulations.
    Carry out your safety checks. Your Flues, Air, Gas, Safety device checks/ 26.9 checks.
    Do an overall risk assessment and wear PPE when necessary.
    Safe Isolation Procedure & electric safety:
    Identify the source(s) of supply. Test your digital multimeter / approved voltage indicator & volt stick to make sure that it is working properly. Isolate the supply, disconnecting the system from the mains. Place the voltage free wires into a terminal block/wago. Secure or “lock off” the isolation using your safety padlock, preventing any tampering. Put do not use signs up on the switch you have isolated/locked off. It is good practice to wear gloves, rubber sole boots, have an electrical safety mat underneath you whilst working on high voltage and use VDE tools. Ensure that you are qualified & / or competent to work on high voltage.
    Refer to your manufacturer instructions.

    Hi mate. Can you tell us how to gas rate a commercial meter ? Cheers.

    • @CommercialGasEngineerVideos

      Good question. I find it similar to domestic.
      I tend to use the anton sprint app. Or pull out my gas book. When answer is usually close to the manufacturers data badge then I'm content. Yet I don't gas rate every single commercial appliance, I aim to check working pressure at the appliance all the time though. When the pipework looks a bit suspect, small, or the readings, like flue temp on a forced draft burner is 300c +, or a burner has just been set up. Yes, I am keen to gas rate. It's too tricky. Things get up to temperature very quickly. In certain buildings you're fortunate to be able to get the meter without it being connected to the kitchen. It's good to know how but I'd say don't knock yourself out losing 1-2hrs gas rating all 5 boilers in a plant room. As you need to use that time looking for other ID and AR faults. Plus servicing appliance as close to what the manufacturers want as possible in the time you have.

      Hi Nick. Yep made an updated Vid on it. It makes a feature in "service sheet" "tightness test" and "purging" vids. Send me an email to commercialgasengineer@mail.com if you would like a copy. Cheers

    Had my domestic 16 years, commercial 1 year and just changed jobs as com gas for industrial factories. Any good books you recommend? Thank you TOP video 👍🏻

      Made a video called "Commercial Gas Engineer books". Keep an eye on ebay as some good pre-owned ones pop up from time to time. Have seen some go for £5-15 rather than the £40-60 brand new price. Industrial factories! Sounds serious. Would love to have a peek in there. Good stuff buddy, keep going.

      @@CommercialGasEngineerVideos I was in the industry for over 50 years , North west gas trained , ( 5 year apprenticeship, ) , it wasn't regarded as necessary until quite recently, even so never had one that failed , can't foresee a situation where it would fail , grit on the main tap is a possibility I suppose , we had some dirty gas about 20 years ago ,, naphtha I think, cheers Steve

      loving the videos, learning more from you than my company lol, a question on the letby test, how do you drop the pressure by 50% to test the ecv?

    • @stevekennedy8581
      @stevekennedy8581 2 года назад +2

      @@thecoincutter2116 2 ways , you can get a rubber tube to connect to your guage with a small tee piece on and a small tap , just bleed off the pressure till you get 12 mb , or just crack open the ECB and let it creep up to 12 mb , cheers Steve

    When you do let by, do you always depressaris gas to get to MOP?(50% mop)

    • @CommercialGasEngineerVideos
      @CommercialGasEngineerVideos  2 года назад

      Best to use an appliance to burn off some of the gas to depressurise rather than letting gas into the space. Consider how well ventilated the gas meter is and take IVt into account.

    • @CommercialGasEngineerVideos
      @CommercialGasEngineerVideos  2 года назад +1

      Check out the procedure selection chart for installation with OP&MOP under 40mb. MOP under 75mb also for volume under 1m cubed. Also under 150mm nominal diameter and you'll test to IGEM/UP/1A. Over these figures you go to IGEM/UP/1 test procedure.
