In today's video we take a look at the Kingroon KP3S. A small cantilever style 3d printer that I have been playing around with for the past couple of months. This printer has a pretty large community for support and mods and for under $200 you get linear rails and a direct drive extruder.

Love my KP3S! I flashed klipper onto it almost immediately, but got some quality prints stock. Ended up adding dual Z linear rails, a PEI sheet, 3d printed power supply base, and an H2 toolhead. It's now my dedicated "just works" printer that I can rely on to print ABS/ASA printer parts
Yeah you say all this but can you print a tpu Eiffel Tower?
What does klipper do?
@@gconol klipper is an alternative firmware to marlin firmware that let's you do some cool things like edit firmware values in a config file instead of reflashing and run gcode calculations on the more powerful processor you may be using for a web interface (octoprint/fluidd/etc) instead of them running on the low power builtin processor. Nero3d has a great video explaining klipper you should be able to find for a more detailed explanation.

Hey I'm trying the H2 as well but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to connect the hotend to it..
Excited to see more on this printer. I don't have one, only a heavily modded Ender 3, but I'd absolutely recommend this over E3 for both use as-is out of the box and modding. It's such a better base, especially if you're aiming for speed.
$180? not bad at all. I really need to look into Klipper already

I use Klipper on my Voron and it's great. I keep thinking about using it on some of my Ender 3s. I bet it would be awesome.
I have 2 KP3S printers and absolutely love them. They are solid machines and print flawlessly time after time. I use a smooth PEI sheet attached with small binder clips. Both printers are used to print custom brackets out of Polymaker ASA at 255°C. The only failure I've had is the hot end fan.
Great video. Yes, I have a KP3S with the red extruder. I purchased it used for just $75 about a year ago. it appeared to be in near mint condition, except someone had dug a groove in the bed with the nozzle. I was planning on a PEI sheet anyway so that just made the deal sweeter. I use this printer almost every day, stock at the moment, and print more on it, with more consistent results than my Ender 3 S1. All I can say is that it just works. I did have a bearing fail on the x-axis belt end roller but it was a very easy and cheap fix. I highly recommend this printer to others.

I have the original version of the kp3s and other than some X belt bearings and upgraded fans (stock were noisy AF), it's been the most dependable printer I've owned. Prints always just work.
It would be awesome if you made a video explaining how to get Klipperscreen working on that kind of hardware. I think it’s the cheapest way to get klipper and screen in one package.
Kingroon is getting the recognition it deserves. Been preaching about it for months now. It's so good and consistent.

I ended up with the ender 2 pro. It's a fantastic little printer as well and very reliable.
Have you seen the new pro version of this printer? Getting rid of the linear rails on the bed seems like a step in the wrong direction, but otherwise it looks to have a few neat changes.
I've been using an original KP3 (not "S") for about a year and it has been performing perfectly. It has hundreds of hours on it so far and the only thing that needed replacing was the nozzle (replaced once). The only mods I've done are replacing the stock Z nut with an antibacklash nut and replacing the bed with a PEI spring steel bed. Still using the stock bed magnetic sheet as it holds the spring steel bed perfectly fine. Just bought a new KP3S for US$140 and again added an antibacklash Z nut and PEI bed using the stock magnet. So far so good. I like the relocated user screen that no longer gets blocked by the bed. The direct drive print head is nice, but I haven't noticed any difference in print quality vs the bowden system in my KP3.
I have two with the older red extruder, im buying two more. Such a great little printer even stock!
I've been using my kingroon for a long time now. No mods and I'm still printing minis I love.
Did you do input shaping after putting Klipper on it?
This seems like a very nice value printer, but with a much more capable, and same build volume V-Minion I can't see that I'd use one. With your V-Minion sitting just behind you on the right, what made you do those projects on the KP3S?
Great video. Loved mine. I have owned 3 I think but each ended up clogging hard and never figured out why.
I have 5 of them, definitely need some help to upgrade to klipper.. I've no experience with klipper at all.. also busy upgrading the hotends to be able to print higher Temps. The latter also not easy as I'm battling to properly attach and connect hotends. Thanks for great videos!

You buy, fold, level the table and prints TPU like a dream. And it's ridiculously cheap and quiet.
It's the most accurate printer I have, had it for about 18 months and its never let me down.
I would much rather have this over my Prusa Mini. The Mini is constantly having leveling issues and it’s very frustrating. It’s related to a shelf now.
put klipper on mine, v6 volcano clone with .6 nozzle, bmg and pei sheet. 4k accel, 25+mm3/s flow. next upgrade is linear rails on z! it's a little beast. and that for 160 euro. (210-220 with upgrades)

I'm diving into klipper, been reading up on it for days now. I'd also use a tablet for running klipper but how do you run klipper on it and use it as klipper screen at the same time? Great video btw, not even interested in this printer but still watched it 😅.
any chance you can do a video on the klipper process for the old surface tablets?
Great video! For fast prototyping, it is an excellent printer even stock. This is why I fell in love with "small-factor" printers. But QC on these is a disaster, at least from my experience. However, if you are good at tinkering with stuff this printer will be a dream for you. :)

So. Where did you find the tablets?
Just wondering if you have tried printing ABS on this printer. I have yet to see a youtube video where they successfully printed ABS. One video comes to mind where the heated bad could only reach 80C and not 100C as it is advertised that it can reach. I am searching for a small printer like this that can actually print ABS so I can keep it in my garage.
The Ender 2 Pro mini is on sail for $145. How does that compare?
I love and hate mine because it likes to clog on filament changes sometimes I’d love to change out the hot end to a full metal one from slice engineering but I haven’t gotten around to it because I’m printing with it constantly

Please make a video on how installing and run Klipper on the Windows tablet. I have 4 KP3S and one of them runs Klipper from a Macbook Air 2nd Gen with Ubuntu, however I am looking for a more compact option and the tablet would be excellent for that; especially because there are Windows tablets from 180 dlls (the same that costs a Pi 4 with accessories currently).
Where did you source the stronger 180x180 magnet? Need one for a K3 build.
I buy Graviflex for all my voron builds and highly recommend, on smaller printers like my v0 it might even be a bit too strong sometimes. Fabreeko has 177mm sheets for $12.99
So is there a way to implement belt tensioners and get rid of the zip-tie solution altogether?
There are 3d files out there for x and y belt tensioners.
Could you share Klipper configs files and template of Cura?
Try doing the Ender 2 pro, it is roughly the same price and has a “silent board”. I found if you do t have the belts super tight the motors are stressed and the board is actually silent the fans are just loud

Use Cura or Prusa slicer for your G-codes. they worked just fine.
@@Bastyyyyyy yeah i am, now i have a printer. just ordered kingroon kp3s and came within a few days. but anyway i guess i was talking more about a CAD software, been printing free test pieces and what not, just wanted some good CAD software to start designing my own work. I have blender, FreeCAD. Guess these will have to do

What is it about 3d printer manufacturers and MicroSD cards? Do they not think that its about time they started to use something /just slightly/ easier to use to get your print files onto the printer? You know.. like..a USB flash drive? Are they still living in the 1990s?

bought it for $150, great buy ngl, I sold all of my bigger printer and switch to ender 2 pro and kp3s and I wish I never buy those huge printers when I almost never print bigger than 150x150x150

I was carrying mine up the stairs the other day in one hand. It is almost palm-sized!
I think it is a great machine for modding, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this to someone as a first printer. A significant number of these come with absolutely brutal Z wobble. I suspect that Kingroon swapped components without thinking. The fittings in the Z screw motor coupler are goofy loose *and* the Z screw nut mount is off center. Double wobble! Oh, and that horrible hot-end jams. The fixes are cheap and aren't hard for someone with experience but a newbie should get something else.
You are absolutely right! It's my first and i'm having a big time trying to fix z wobble. Already tried changing the gantry and other stuffs and i'm still getting the same wobble on prints
@@luanmuraro2929 Changing the motor-screw coupler (search Thingiverse for "self centering coupling") and adding an oldham coupler at the Z nut fixed it for me.
Kp3s is my first 3d printer, and it was such a breez with that printer to get started, no difficutlies so far except 1 clogged nozzel after 5kg of PLA :D
Bought mine for 149€ + free shipping on ebay.
My printing bed is not 100% straight, its slighlty warped towards the middel. so i have to level the bed based on how big the print is.
But i read online that if you buy the tempered glass plate it fixes that issue.
i would personally update the fans, they are extremly loud, but for 3-4 hour prints its not that bad that i cant handel it. i have it in my basement and just leave the noise there. But in the beginning i had it next to my PC and it was too loud after 1-2 hours.
I feel like every time someone tries to sell me on Klipper Im just like " I can do that in Marlin too". They even have experimental input shaping though I dont much care for that feature
If you don’t care about speed (without much quality loss) then there is really not much need. Granted there are other benefits like not needing to compile each time you make a change but yeah Klipper isn’t something everyone will want.

Titan is not direct DRIVE extruder, it is geared direct extruder. Direct drive means torque transmitted directly from motor shaft without any gearing.
