Congratulations Lauren, I am so excited for you. It sounds amazing and definitely has the wow factor in looks! Looking forward to hearing more 😊
Yes I just recorded a bunch of lessons with her over the weekend.
@@LaurenBateman Fab, I am excited to watch 🎶
Congratulations on your new guitar! Taylors are great! Between 2001 and 2019 I owned nothing but Taylor guitars, even had some custom Taylors. Now I have 9 guitars which consists of 6 higher end Alvarez guitars, a Takamine and two Yamaha guitars. After all those years of playing Taylors I wanted to have a different sound. I have 4 12-string guitars and I love them. Have you considered adding a 12-string to your collection? Taylor makes some great 12-strings!
That's one guitar I don't have, a 12 string. Maybe that's next 😉
Which Yamahas did you get?
@@My-Channel_forever I picked up an older Yamaha FG-460SA 12-String and a new
Yamaha FG-830
Love the guitar. Nova Scotia , Canada
Thank you!
Beautiful guitar! I would love to upgrade from my Yamaha.
She plays well and sounds great. Glad I bought it.
Congrats on your new Taylor. I can hear the difference and yes the Crafter sounds brighter. Makes me wonder if they both had the very same strings whether the sound / tone would be more similar?
They both have Phosphour Bronze strings on them. The Taylor had Elixir 12s and the Crafter had D'Addario 11s.
Congrats on the new Taylor Lauren!! Enjoy it!! I played that 324 too, loved that warm sound. Try it with an Acus or Ortega Amp. :- ) V-bracing is magic. Gives much more sustain and power. The woods let it sound warm. Great quality! I for myself prefer the clear and powerful sound of spruce top/rosewood back and sides. The sound is overwhelming when playing unplugged and wows when playing with amp. It's a lot of money for sure, but the smile in your face when you play these is worth every Dollar. My next (and last) one will be a Taylor definitivly.
Oh wow. Thanks for sharing.
@@LaurenBateman It was a pleasure to watch your live stream. 😀🎸
wow what a beautiful Taylor. Those builders edition’s are so nice. Congrats!!!
Thank you. You sounds and plays wonderful
Sounds AWESOME! Lucky you!
She does
Taylor is definitely my favorite acoustic guitar brand
They sound great
i have some taylors and they do sound so gooodddd too 😍 before i bought the martin sc13e, i have in mind the 322ce, but i thought maybe id try martin sc 13e. well taylor's are great Lauren 🤟
Oh wow. Martins are nice as well.
I checked out Here I am,I think you should do the Rock style, and do some live original song videos of you playing and singing your own songs, your that good..!!Now that your armed with that Taylor🥰
I Ike to play rock on drums. Guns N Roses and Smashing Pumpkins.
I didn't know you played the drums, that's Awesome!!! I used to play bass, keyboards, and electric Les Pauls,I've played all kinds of guitars over the years.Mann...Your a Awesome talented lady,I like watching your vids,I thought that guitar you were playing was a Breedlove cause of those flowers by the sound hole, close to the Taylor look though in shape, keep rocking out, love your Vids🥰💞
LB : congratulations on your new family addition. Be aware , though , there is no vaccine for G.A.S. ! The angle area is an “arm bevel” and those GOTOH 510 s are among the best tuners. Looking at some comments , many people associate guitar sound with the ubiquitous Martin D 28. Their low E/A register is ideal for bluegrass music. At the music store , my friends and I can always tell when someone is previewing a Martin. Taylor is best for note articulation and I was told by the Taylor factory tour guide several years ago that he recommended a slightly heavier pick for the best tone. Taylor has done a lot for Forest sustainability and preservation and deserve credit for that. Thanks for sharing and happy picking to you.
This is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I'm still learning so much. I use a 0.88 so a little bit on the thicker side.
By-the-way Taylor has a special running now where you buy that guitar and you can get a GS mini $199 or a baby Taylor for $99.See if Sweetwater will honor that
Thanks for sharing

Hi!
Hey from Indiana
Hello!
Taylor's are so polarizing, I don't know if any acoustic brings more love and hate
Ha h. They are. I still love my Crafter.
Hey Lauren John Smith South Carolina how’s your day going
Hi John, going well
Camrose Alberta
Hello!!!
@@LaurenBateman hi back at you.
I hope you are well!
$1200 Still is a lot and Taylor far more but you are very deserving to treat yourself
It was a nice treat. I haven't done that for myself in quite some time.
Howdy
Hello!
Loved the chat and seeing your new guitar. I hope you have another chat soon. Take care and stay warm.
Woww i thought i won wheres my guitar price????
Ha ha. Yeah there are different teirs of pricing with guitars for sure
@@LaurenBateman thank you then still hoping my frienf im from the phillipines
I need to start a You Tube channel so I can afford a 3000 dollars guitar.
Ha ha. RUclips isn't all I do. I own two brick and mortar music schools as well as own and manage real estate. I'm a jack of all trades as they say. I like to keep busy. Plus for me, it's a tax write off. So it really only cost $2000.
I dont think the mantra of you get what you pay for really applies these days to guitars in the $1k+ price range given how amazing manufacturing is today. Taylor's are amazing guitars, I agree. However, they are way overpriced. The same is true of Martin and Gibson. You can get an equivalent guitar these days for 1/2 the price or cheaper. Yamahas and takamines are good examples. The most important thing when it comes to guitars is to play as many of them as possible, find one that has the sound you love, then take it to a luthier to get it setup for your particular type of playing. I have my fingerstyle guitars set at 3.5/64ths at the 12th fret. Most of my strumming or all purpose guitars are at 4.5/64.
My two cents are find a guitar that has the sound you want and get it setup to play like you want it to play.
Having said that, congratulations on your beautiful taylor guitar. Funny story I ended up buying the crafter you have over a taylor 814. I also have the 30th anniversary crafter. My baby is the takamine ltd 2020 and a few others.
Wow. Congratulations on your purchase. I made out well for many years with guitars priced $500-$1000
Hi Lauren, thinking of buying a better guitar now my playing as improved, I think the crafter guitar your playing is the twin bird 32nd anniversary, currently not available in UK, could you recommend a crafter guitar othecthan the one your showcasing, they seem quality guitars for the money
Hi Ray! You may check my guitar recommendations here kit.co/laurenbateman/guitar-recommendations
I like your guitars. Mine is a dreadnought Yamaha Eterna EF10. I didn't buy it originally for myself it was my ex. It may actually be a little too lg for me but until I can afford a different one this will have to work
Thank you Rebecca
Arghhhh….the video keeps freezing on me. Did you talk about how it smells? I have a Taylor and love the way it smells in the sound hole. I’ve never smelled urban ash.
Oh I missed that but she smells like new wood. So good. Like a new car smell.
I'm asking this because you say you're not a "tech person": Now that you own a $3000 guitar, how's the humidity in the room where your guitars are kept? Taylor recommends a RH of 40%-60%.
In New England, it's horrible. I keep the Taylor in her case with humidifiers. She needs to be well taken care of.
@@LaurenBateman I only recently discovered this issue, Rhett Shull did a video on one of his guitars that was literally damaged by dehydration. I now have a hygrometer on the wall next to mine, and hang laundry to dry in the room where they're kept. I'll be ordering a humidifier soon. 😏😏😏
@@LaurenBateman ah, your guitars are also "shes". Mine too. I could never think of my guitars as "it". 👍👍👍😏😏😏
saw Santana last night in Boise. He had hummingbirds on his fretboard. Reminded me of you and your Crafter.
Oh wow. Must have been a great show.
Grover and Gotoh make very high-quality tuners! 👍👍👍😏😏😏
I think the Zager 80ce had Grover tuners.
Love the look of that Taylor. Almost as beautiful as you!
The Taylor sounds a bit more softer, l like that Taylor.
Aww thanks Buzz
I have to admit that the Taylor looks better, but the Crafter sounds MUCH better.
Aww thank. Every guitar is unique and special.
How are doing Lauren i am having roast beef for supper what are having for supper
Nice, I love a good Roast Beef sandwich.
Taylor much warmer than Crafter, nice sound.
Yes for sure
Thanks for your story. I just bought a Crafter and love it
Hope you enjoy it!
'The Ibanez is a piece of'.
Somehow I think that's not the problem, lol.
Probably not 100% of it.
@@LaurenBateman Good reply, 🙂
Beautiful Taylor! I broke my right elbow three weeks, no cast or sling to wear. I have too much pain to reach around my Martin D-18. I love my new to me Martin and love to play him. I am a letter carrier at Usps Michigan and fell on the ice. Looks like I am headed for disability case . I will have a ton of time on my hands coming up, I want to heal and then sign up for the guitar course with you
Oh no. Rest up and maybe in a few weeks.

Hello!
Next guitar you planning to purchase buy one with Tuqs or bone saddle and nut
Ooooo nice
@@LaurenBateman Sound is more crisp/clear
I own 2 taylors, 414ce and a 412ce. Both are great guitars. Had a Gibson years ago but sold it.
Very nice.. congratulations
Hi, Lauren from Cheryl in Arizona
Hi Cheryl!!!
2 hrs Northwest of Nashville TN.
Thank you for the support.
I knew it would be a Taylor!! Love em, and they sound amazing. All my acoustics have cutaways too, not that I ever play that far up the neck, just think they look cooler 👍
Thank you Kelly
Hahahhah they do look cooler :) n I’m sure u get extra cool points for subscribing to LB’s channel :)
Very nice your guitar and you also.
Aww thanks!
I have a Epiphone pro 2 it's a gift, love it your opinion.
I don't know that guitar honestly
@@LaurenBateman thank you for your time!

Hello!!!
Great addition..I have 322ce 12fret Taylor..love it
Easy to play..thxs 4 all you do..love you energy and style..
Michael Verdi Nevada
Awesome! Thank you!
Lauren! I hVe the 324 ce. It’s not the builders but it sounds basically the same to me and HS the dark tuners ebony color tuners. Has that same warm sound. I noticed you said builders addition very important, so I was just curious do you not like the regular 324ce mohagany top Tasmanian black wood back and sides. It’s all solid wood too. Just curious because you went a little higher in price with the builders. Thanks. -Ryan
Ooo that sounds lovely!!!! I know nothing about 324ce VS Builder Edition honestly. 😬
@@LaurenBateman you know I had leukemia and a transplant BMT when I was younger. 24 years ago. It’s tough. I worry all the time about all the treatments that went through my body. You’re awesome. Glad we both made it out to know each other. I always played sports so I’m taking up guitar now in my 40’s. God bless.
Geuss what iam just watching your intro to your new Taylor, from 2 year's ago.
Iam originaly Manchester England, but i live in Germany.
Thanks for watching!
Hi Cathy from AZ.
Hi Cathy
A person's guitar is a reflection of their unique personality. Ive been looking at Taylor's, Crafters, Yamaha, Epiphone. Its confusing for sure. Im on limited budget. Slim body style, slimmer neck width, cutaways, warmth and special uniqueness of guitar.
It really is.
I Do have a Crafter GA and do sound awesome ❤
That's great! enjoy!
I missed out on a Taylor Guitar for 400$ R9000 ZAR so I took the Crafter for $185 ZAR4000

Hello!
Nice choice Lauren, it certainly has the Wow factor! I think we all start with the look of our guitars and being a Taylor you know it's going to sound great.
Absolutely. I know why they are the cream of the crop.
A few days ago I bought a Cord A6. It costs a lot less and I think it‘s nearly even as good as the Taylor…
But I love the Taylor. Unfortunately to expensive for me.
Congratulation from Schwerin, Germany and cordial greetings
Sandra
I completely understand. Why I had to go with my Crafter years ago.
You a lifesaver
Thanks!
Goodday.when you played I immediately heard remember yestarday by skid row and a lot of ballad sounds from the 80s 90s.i didn't know what Taylor's existed. Went to the music store just to buy strings and restring my jasmine.i seen it on the sale rack for 30 percent off.but I didn't see on the other end of the display, my husband found and bought me a 3 quarter fender m a 1.I had been wanting a 3 quarter for years, and it's my first fender. I found I was able to do my bar chords better.i know how exciting it is to get anew guitar.til next time, have a blessed day
Aww thanks you and glad to hear about the barre chords
I bought my PRS A40E from Sweetwater. Great customer service and set up was perfect. Love Sweetwater. Your Taylor is beautiful but kinda out of my price range lol but u deserve it cause you are an amazing and patient teacher. Great work deserves great rewards. I live in Weymouth Ma. Hope to meet ya sometime.
Tracy that was my first guitar I bought in 10 years. My wife encouraged me to do it. She said you've worked so hard. Get something for yourself for once. So I did!
I have a 1970 Ibanez dread nought, always tuned half step down, I play mostly nirvana and guns on it, sounds nice and deep, also a Ibanez j200 which is beautiful, just change the strings on it to elixir and you swear you are playing a $50k Gibson j200, than Taylor is nice Lauren 👌
Good bands. I love GNR.
My friend Joe Nester in Florida who is a musician has a Taylor sounds great. Check him out he has an awesome story was from Delaware drug/alcohol addicted and homeless for 10 yrs now clean over 9!
Wow its beautiful, you are an awesome instructor 🎸🎶🎵

If you ever get the chance, come visit the Taylor Guitar Factory in San Diego, California.
You will learn and see a lot of their manufacturing processes and incredible craftsmanship up close.
Plus, you can come early, or stay afterwards, and play any one of the many Taylor models in their retail store at the factory.
No purchase necessary! Come visit, visit the factory, have a fish taco, and a West Coast IPA. Fun vacation!
Awesome. Will have to make it out there one weekend.

Wow....congratulations madam.. beutifull guitar. clear and clean sounds .how is the takamine GD 30 CE guitar ?
Thank you
Lauren, now that you have four months experience with this new Taylor guitar, what is your take on the amplified sound vs unplugged tone ? Reading customer purchase reviews on Sweetwater, there was some concern expressed about “scratchy “ tones from the Taylor pick ups paired with this model. What has been your experience ?
Hmmm. Haven't experienced that myself personally but I haven't plugged her in much either.
Oh noooo, you didn't get a Zager?
No a Taylor
@@LaurenBateman
That's okay. I went to get a Guild and ended up getting a lab coat. :)
Thank you so much for mentioning the action. I find it to be almost as important as the tone, yet almost no one ever mentions action when reviewing guitars.
Even from South Africa ❤
Hey Lauren, love all your videos, most recent one was about guitar strings.
I’ll definitely look into the D-Addario white packet you showed in the video.
Also the nickel wound hybrid electric strings.
I currently have a Martin Road Series guitar made in Mexico.
Definitely agree it was tough handing over the money (€1100) but don’t regret buying it.
I trade in guitars rather than keeping ones I don’t use or like playing anymore.
So sorry to hear about everything you went through. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪😁
Love your new guitar.
Congrats on your Martin. Well worth it I'm sure.
Ibanez is the guitar I play on after 4 not playing for 40 years.. it's perfect for me. Price point, sound, body style, easy to play.. would love to own a Taylor..
Love Ibanez too.
Hi Lauren, would you be interested in selling your Crafter? I like the sound of your Crafter and just thought I would ask if you're interested in selling it. Dean
No, she is still my baby
hey Lauren ! you should buy and use Garageband software and a mac computer so that you can do home studio recording with your guitar and record your favourite songs ! that is what i am going to be doing ! lol :)
I haven't recorded in years.
Definitely name the Taylor! My D-18 is Logan. My first guitar was a solid white Washburn that I named Beth, she has stickers on her and I painted in script her name
Ooo Logan. Great name.
Lauren your crafter has a much better sound. Also what make is that canvas/cloth strap that you use. Where can you get them. We live in Ontario Canada.
My friend Eddie Carlino of Carlino Guitars made it for me.
Hi Lauren. Greeting from Hong Kong. I did learnt a lots skills through your videos. Thanks.
You're welcome! Glad to help.
I just found a picture that says.
You can never own too many guitars 🎸
Thanks for watching!
Wow that is lovely - awesome color... I love those darker browns... I think on some electrics I've seen, that color is described as tobacco (?). The hummingbird inlays on your previous guitar are pretty amazing too...
Yes, those inlays sold me on the guitar. Gorgeous.
Hi Lauren, after watching the whole video I see you like keeping your guitars ..... I have the purple Ibanez like you have and it was my first acoustic as well. Dean
Oh that's awesome!!!
Very nice guitar, enjoy it.
Thank you!!!
It is richer. I have always loved the sound of Martin's. Personally I own two Fenders. One I got at a pawn shop, and the other was a smaller guitar that was given to me. I am just a terrible beginner, but I like them. My son only plays Martins.
Keep practicing. I'm sure you're not as bad as you think.
Lol I agree that looks of the guitar matter :) my guitar which is my first is bright pink :) it just makes me smile every time I open the case :)
Love it!!!
Happy new guitar day!!! That smile says loads. Wishing u lots of joy while playing it. Thank you for all the videos Lauren. I always enjoy watching and learning from you. Im sitting here now playing mr tambourine man from your video on my 2nd hand wee crafter guitar you inspired me to pick up while my apx 600 in in for a fix. Awsome wee guitars and so warm sounding like you said. Its become my new favourite. Keep doing what you do. Loving learning from you all the way in Scotland 🏴🤟🎸
That's a great song. Thank you. Yes, very happy with my purchase.
My acoustic guitar is a Taylor 214ce and I love it! It even makes my playing sound semi-decent! Yours is as beautiful as it is great-sounding. Congratulations! Play it in good health!
Oh that's awesome. Congrats to you.
Taylor’s are known for playability. I have an older 214ce that I bought when my Martin was at the Factory for a repair. The only thing I don’t like about it is it has an 1 11/16 nut width. Just a little narrow for me. Your guitar has the new V Class bracing. Great Guitar, Congrats.
Ah thank you for that. Maybe that's why the Barre chords feel easier. I have smaller hands
Hi Lauren nice guitar love your videos and watching from Wales 🏴
Hello! Would love to see Wales.
Wow, Lauren, good luck with your new Taylor, superb guitar, can you let us all know what it costs?

Thanks Greg! Hello all
The Better you get,the more your gonna crave a better guitar, no matter what..it'll be in your house, before you can catch your breath😇
That's true.
Congrats! One can never have too many guitars. I bought myself a Gretsch Jim Dandy for Christmas. Keep on strummin'
Good for you!!!!
Congrats on the new guitar, Lauren! It is a beautiful sounding instrument! You’ve given me some things to think about as I upgrade from my Fender. Now, if only I can convince my wife that it is worth it 😂.
Ha ha. I didn't tell mine 😬

Beautiful guitar! I'd love to see a follow up in a month or so ;) I'm eyeballing the same model for my wife's birthday!
She's going to be making some appearances in the upcoming RUclips lessons so keep an eye out for her
Lauren, incredibly rich and warm tone that players with your level of skill, talent, and dedication justly deserve. This guitar will come alive in your hands.
Aww thanks Steve.
Idaho great guitar...
I need one
Thank you
Nice new guitar. $1200 isn't a ceap guitar but you deserve a step up either way. I have a Taylor Academy 12e that I absolutely love. Happy playing.
Oh that's awesome.
@@LaurenBateman I would highly recommend the Taylor Academy Series especially 12e to any of your student, they sound great and with the maple necks are very stable, plus they are small enough to be a decent travel or camp fire guitar. I initial I was skeptical about a "student guitar" but then the guy from Driftwood Guitars reviewed one and even cut it up (cross sectioned) and then bought one himself because of the sound and build quality. To put it in perspective, Driftwood Guitars are 7 to 10k guitars and here the owner/master luthier is out buying a $600 Taylor, that was enough evidence for me.
Great looks and sound!! Taylors are top quality! Do you only play guitar? Have you ever played bass or ukulele?
I've dabbled on uke but guitar is my baby
