frrrr,if someone tries robbing him, dude can just pick up a scythe or trident and make the dumbass that tried run in fear- seriously,a guy with enough free time to turn a wrench & rusted chain into SCYTHES is not a kinda guy you should want problems with-
So, just as a point of order, it would be a poleaxe. A scythe would have the blade on the interior of the curve, not the outside. No matter what, it is a beautiful fantasy piece.
@@Lord_and_Savior-x a polearm is any long weapon that has a long pole and may also have a head of any shape on it. A poleaxe is a polearm, usually shorter than a halberd, used for single combat. Saying polearm is the equivalent of firearm. It’s a generic term used to describe many things.
@@generalgabrielsatori a farm scythe was not double edged though. I've owned and seen many and even in medieval Europe it was the same only the concave side was sharpened. To have it double edged as a work tool would have posed a risk to the person using it . And if you see the old war scythe it is indeed single edged.
DUDE, this is SERIOUSLY COOL. I have an extremely cool idea to make this even better tho, but it's weird. so basically, can you please cut the scythe in half, use the half with the blade as a scabbard, and then use the bottom part to make a short sword, and build a thingy to stabilize the entire thing when combined, that would be really cool.
Its just crazy if this was used to be a scythe in ancient Rome And has a full history thats just to crazy🤔 And cool transition u have there🎉 10:40 And i subbed now really support ur makings😀
This guy is making bank with cool weapons and I'm here for it, but looking back at older video's I preferred watching you cut out the shape of the blade instead of the transition into it being already cut, but I definitely love how you showcased the scythe, very fun way to showcase.
I feel like this is more of an axe. Don't get me wrong, it's a very cool weapon and the process to make one is incredible. I just think that with the bladed edge being on the outside of the curve, this would be used more like an axe. A scythe cuts on the inside of the curve to pull grass(or a person in the case of a war scythe) towards the cutting edge, like a sickle. With this, you have to cut with the outside of the curve, making it more similar to an axe blade for chopping, not hooking.
I'd use that. I like polearms that are a little shorter. Much easier to control, and still gives you a reach advantage over most opponents. Plus, it's not as easy to get inside your reach, since that zone is much smaller!
15:36 Wooow ive never seen a YT Video with welding glasses for the Viewers ^^ ive learned something in the first of your Videos ive seen (Styrofoam instead of casting wax) i love it, Thank you!
This reminds me of Loretta's war sickle. If you don't know who that is, look up Elden Ring bosses, Loretta is one of them, and she has a weapon kinda similar to this, but longer. Its an awesome piece though, well done.
At 14:46, was that metal spike to re-inforce the blade/crossguard's attachment to the handle in addition to what appeared to be glue? Awesome video. Very fun watch.
Yes, the epoxy alone isn't enough to hold the blade in place to the handle. Adding a mechanical component prevents the blade from wiggling in any air pockets within the epoxy which could, over a long enough period of use, cause the epoxy to loosen its hold for the metal and the wood.

You do know that you put the sharp end on the blade on the wrong side, right?
I love the blade bud but that theres a khopesh. Not a scythe. Again i say gorgeous work but it is a tad mislabeled there friendo.
you are too good to be forgeing at home

Indeed it is very artistic and amazing work! Still can’t believe that it was a rusty chain before 😮

Scythe one of my fav close combat weapons. I still need to make my black hole scythe
3:19 to 3:36 is so satisfying and should be turned into an album
It's surprising that you forged a beautiful military scythe and it's usable, great job!!!😍😍😍😍
This weapon would be much more imposing if it had a blade on both sides, it would be something much more unusual
I mean that was the intention of turning a farm scythe blade 90 degree up in the first place, a double edged glaive.
@@generalgabrielsatori That would be something very interesting and fun

Looks a bit like an Egyptian Khopesh. Neat design.

I like how this would be a good basis for a decorative Egyptian Khopesh
I wish I could learn this type of craftmanship maybe not specifically to forge weapons but it would come in handy in the future.
It's amazing how you restored an old rusty chain like that
As a DnD player looking for weapon inspirations for my campaigns, I always tend to find myself here. Good work!
