These are now $600. The PB1000 Pro is now $900 (I paid $599 when they released it). I love SVS, but if they do not stop raising prices every couple of months I am afraid it will ruin them.
At least they aren’t as bad at KEF. I recently picked up the q350s for $800- speakers that were $500 not too long ago., along with this SVS sub for $600.. It’s definitely an anti-consumer move, making people regret having to spend so much more than it would have been just a year or two ago. The sound quality of this system (paired with CXA81) definitely lessens the blow somewhat though. It’s an amazing setup, but it’s like they’re flipping off their customers with these price moves.
Just got one yesterday. I love it, sounds great out of the box. SVS has a web page that will tell you the low pass filter and slope settings for your particular speakers.
I have two PB1000 Pros in my 7.2.4. They are fantastic! And the fact they went with a 12" instead of the 10" in the regular 1000 AND DSP makes them the best deal in subwoofers. Mine got flat to 15Hz
Awesome review as always. If nobody answered your question yet, Q is the amount of slope on the parametric EQ. So you have Frequency (that is being adjusted), Gain (how much you are boosting or lowering the selected frequency) and Q (how much of the neighbouring frequencies are being affected). So yeah, pretty important.
I have the SB2000 (non pro) on my home theater paired with The Elac Debut Reference front stage. It’s a great combo. Every SVS sub I have heard has been excellent.
I bought one after seeing this video, your recommendation is right on the money this is without a doubt the best 500 dollar Sub right now. I can't begin to explain just how happy I am with mine, the App is fantastic and it sounds great!
The Q is a lot easier to adjust if you run REW first....it's a way to compensate for lulls/peaks in specific frequency bands because of room acoustics....you can adjust it without REW by running sweeps from your listening position and once you notice a lull or peak in a given frequency spectrum, you can make the boost/cuts where needed and fine tune it to a wide or narrow bandwidth....I'm really impressed by the fact that adjustment is in the app...super cool
I picked one up two years ago. Not a single complaint, only tons of praise. Shakes my windows even at low listening levels. Great for music AND in a 5.1.4 system. If you are on the fence, you won't be disappointed. Go for it!! 😜 Oh! And the app control allows you to shape the sound and make any adjustments without getting out of your recliner. Really cool and easy to use.
Just bought a SB 1000 (non Pro) a couple of days ago. I registered it last night. In the course of the registration, they asked how I heard about their products. I definitely made sure to specifically mention your channel. This sub is incredible. Thanks for the review!
Yeah, for me it was between this and the Rythmik L12. I ended up with the L12 but I don't think either is a bad option. I feel the SVS is better for home theater and the Rythmik is better for music.
Would the PB1000 Pro worth an extra 300 aud ? I keep hearing the sb is for music and pb is for movies but how muchbof a difference would it actually be for an average bloke like myself who hasnt had any experience with HT systems. I am building my first HT system and don't have any reference. I would pairing it with entry level Klipsch RP speakers.
@@rockrocks009 Definitely not worth 300 extra? However, I would seriously recommend going with a different brand for your main Speakers. Klipsch get a lot of hype, but from my experience, they are by far the worst option out there. A KEF, Canton, Elac etc. Setup will likely give you more pleasing Sound. The only time Klipsch would be my recommendation is, if you want maximum SPL with minimum amp wattage!
@@rolandrohde thanks for your reply. I tried out Kefs and loved em. But here in Australia, they would cost me almost twice. Plus I am getting a decent deal on the Rp600m as fronts, rp600c as centre, rp502s as surrounds and a couple of in ceiling for Dolby Atmos. I have never tried elac s as no one has them here for demo. Any other brands that might be similarly priced and better than mu selected options.
@@rockrocks009 Ok. Here in Germany the Kef Q series is often on sale for next to nothing. The choice is yours of course, but from my experience...I had Nubert, Elac, Klipsch, KEF and Canton in my HT (went through a few years of trying different things) and for me Klipsch was by far the worst choice. I had the RP600 with the corresponding Center, Surround and so on. After much trial and error and a lot of selling stuff off on ebay I settled on Canton (have the B100 Series with a Townus Center) as the best compromise between cultured sound and impact. The only Klipsch components I kept were the two SPL150 Subs because they are good enough for my needs.
Yes this sub is pretty awesome, but what I traded it for is a BOSS when it comes to subs, the SVS SB-3000 Sub. 13-inch Driver and thousands of watts. The 3000 sub is a keeper for sure!
Randy editing! I got mine in on Wednesday, so like 3/31 and I absolutely love what it adds to what was my 2.0, along with how easy it is to integrate with the app while sitting in my listening spot.
Hi aznelite325, I'm also tinking to get a 1000 pro for my stereo setup, did you manage to integrate the 1000 pro in your system without actualy hearing the sub? I'm wondering if the app helps in the process .Thanks
@@Constantin1020 I did, it's amazing how well it blends pretty seamlessly with the bookshelf speakers. The app is a total winner for not having to stand up multiple times to adjust the sub.
For 20$ I got to switch the SVS SB1000 for the Pro version, thanks dealer :D I was very happy with the non Pro version, it was excellent for music more than for movie in my opponion do to the fast respons but great at both. I am looking forward to the Pro version arriving, cheers.
In simple words, the Q factor is how narrow or how wide you want the boost or the attenuation curve to be. Meaning how much into neighboring frequencies, this boost or attenuation curve, extends or in other words "spills". It is a measure of precision of the desired boost or attenuation. For example, let's say the frequency (called center frequency, Fc) you mainly need to boost or attenuate and generally correct, is 100Hz. A wide Q means this boost or attenuation will affect more frequencies, below and above the Fc. Let's say it will affect down to 70Hz and up to 130Hz. So it will affect a bandwidth of 60Hz (100Hz +/- 30). Which in turn, might not be what you want, at all. A narrower than that Q, could for example be a +/- 5Hz boost or attenuation, hence you'll get a boost or attenuation, between 95 and 105Hz. Thus a narrower bandwidth. Hence more precision. Meaning, less neighboring to the Fc frequencies, to be affected. Which might be exactly what you want. Yes, it is a very important feature and thing to have. In PA systems where you usually find this kind of gear, it's basically what differentiates an equalizer with variable Q (parametric EQ), from an EQ which has a fixed Q curve (graphic EQ). In terms of accuracy for the latter case, you get what you get from the manufacturer and that's it.
In 2018, I bought two SB12-NSD subs for $400 each. No remote. No app. Just clean, deep bass, and a lot of it if that's your jam. Maybe the best audio purchase I've ever made.
Q is how wide or narrow around the given frequency you want to boost or cut. The higher the Q factor, the narrower the bandwidth (and the fewer frequencies will be affected around your selected frequency).
SVS, Monoprice, Fluance, Elac & Emotiva all deliver in the bang for the buck market. If this is the future of hi-fi I'm on board. Perhaps Edifier should be included.
I bought one at 8:30 into the vid off Amazon. $499. M'kay? Thanks.... *Arrived five days later. Wow! Nice sub! Thanks again for your time. I really appreciate your advice.
I have this Sub-woofer and got it as part of a system. I LOVE this sub. It is a truly awesome, powerful sound in the space I use it. With the volume set to just above my "normal" listening volume - I hear the windows in the front of the house (3 rooms away) rattling. I turned up to a reputable audio store in M elbourne and said here is my budget, here is my room size, I LOVE music and watch lot of movies, too - Give me some options. The very first thing they mentioned was this sub . And in the 3 setups they recommended for me - the sub was always the same. They love it - as much as you! And since my system cam in under my budget - they could have easily upsold me a different sub.
Super innovative that there’s an adjustable phase control to a single degree. This is extremely important for dialing a room and eliminating standing waves. The old zero/180 doesn’t cut it anymore. Don’t own an SVS sub but I think I’m about to buy one. The app control is extremely compelling as well.
I just discovered my sub died today. I've been looking at SVS subs for 10 years, but never had a good reason to upgrade. Maybe it's ok it died now rather than next month.. The first thing the wife asked was if subs are smaller now, so she's ok with the cost based on the size and warranty.
I was a long time fan of Power Sound Audio subs but, now that I am building out a new set up, I am on a smaller budget and the SVS SB1000 Pro is just the ticket for a smaller set up.
It really is an amazing sub.. Sounds almost as good as the Sonos Gen3 Sub that I recently returned. The Sonos was a bit tighter and more controlled , but SVS digs deeper and is obviously built to last, unlike these smart speakers with planned obsolescence. Got my SB-1000 Pro paired with KEF Q350s and a Cambridge CXA81 amp… It’s one of the best stereo systems I’ve heard.
DAMN! I just purchased 2 elac 1010's subs 3 months ago and SVS goes and does this. Shoot.... Excellent review Randy, very quick with this one. RATS.... CRAP.... Oh well.....
just purchased 2 of these for my newly set up home cinema room. have upgraded a lot of stuff recently, so have all i want now, ready for a calibrator coming up soon. Cant wait till its all dialled in.
They are releasing a new upgraded version around mid-March ‘22. The RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII. Claiming better dynamic range, less port noise (moved port from front to rear) and more power. 400w/1020w peak, with extension down to 22hz. I would love to see this comparison. I’ve heard only good stuff about RSL. The Speedwoofer 10S is at the top of my sub list. For what it’s worth, Brent Butterworth, of Wirecutter fame, recommended the RSL Speedwoofer 10S over the SVS 1000 on my budget several years ago. That carried a weight w/me. He is renown for his audio gear reviews. He’s heard many subs. He also plays bass! I trust his opinion. He steered me to Kef bookshelves, and I have no regrets whatsoever. That said, the Emotiva 12” is right at top w/the Speedwoofer. Decisions… 👍🏼😎. I do own an earlier edition of a SVS 12” sealed subwoofer and live it. Surprisingly easy to integrate w/my Klipsch towers and Kef bookshelves. Quality build & design. Sounds great set up properly. SVS also has top-moth customer service. No complaints or regrets. I just want to try some new subs. Looking at the Emotiva 12” and the RSL Speedwoofer 10s MK II. Bass management of some type is a determining factor. It’s huge to me.
Price went up $100 on this in early October, Amazon and every retailer instantly raised their price $100, like they didn't have stock already, not like it's being produced immediately after the price increase, absolutely ridiculous behavior from retailers. SVS even broke their "promise."
@@Calibur43 Bit pricey mate , but I'm very impressed with mine . It was a choice between this and q acoustics b12 , happy to say that this is perfect for music and movies in my environment.
@@iansteventon4221 You have the SB or the PB? I mostly listen to music and play video games. So I definitely want tighter, punchier bass. I fear the ported version won't accomplish that as well as the sealed SB.
@@Calibur43 sb Pro 1000. I listen to a lot of rock , so for me it was a better choice, my last sub was ported and I kept having to put bungs in for music as the bass resonated too much for my liking.
Thanks for the review! As a fellow dealer, We can definitely confirm that SVS SB1000 Pro Subwoofer is a powerful and versatile addition to any audio setup. This compact subwoofer packs a punch, delivering deep and impactful bass that brings your music, movies, and games to life. With its 12-inch high-excursion driver and 325 watts RMS power amplifier, the SB1000 Pro is capable of reproducing low frequencies with incredible accuracy and authority. And as a fellow dealer, We can definitely vouch for the quality of SVS products. If you have any other questions about the SVS SB1000 Pro please feel free to ask!
Yeah I picked up a heavily discounted SVS SB1000 (Piano gloss) during the out going sales, I'm vary glad I was able to grab one on sale as I finally entered the word of dualies! Here in Canada SVS products rarely go on sale, so as soon as the pro series were announced I started watching a few sites daily patiently waiting until they launched the sales and instantly purchased one. I had a single SB1000 for a few years and absolutely loved it, I likely didnt need a 2nd one in my small room but I just couldnt pass up the sale prices and ideally wanted both my subs to be identical even though I dont think thered be much issue pairing a pro along with a standard, the OCD inside of me needed them to be the same.
You make an interesting point about "pricing shenanigans". I was debating between the Klipsch R120SW and the SVS SB1000 Pro. About an hour after placing my order for the SVS, I see Best Buy (here in Canada) has dropped the price on the Klipsch from $799 to $349 (and not for open-box or anything like that). I'm all for sales, but to me, this kind of difference makes me wonder, are the Klipsch speakers grossly overpriced regularly? Or are they happy to sell product far below cost to generate more sales? Either way, it does not inspire consumer confidence.
Yup, have the older SB1000, made me realize a good subwoofer in 2-channel audio is a game-changer. It's great for a small to medium stereo system. I'm gonna upgrade to the PB-2000 pro.
You only think that because you don't know what he's talking about. By "shenanigans," he's talking about how other companies fluctuate between multiple set prices during the year. SVS doesn't play those games. That doesn't mean their price will never go up.
I appreciate your dry ribbing of companies with chain-yanking pricing schemes. The more shit they get for that, the better. I don't have any SVS gear, but part of the reason (aside from the sound) I love Schiit and Emotiva so much is they don't jerk you around on the pricing. I was planning on RSL Speedwoofers for when I have the space to set up a full-range system, but I guess I'll have to give these a look too.
hi, would be nice if you can review the $350 fluance db12 subwoofer. you don’t do that many subwoofer reviews. will patiently wait for it, thanks cheapaudioman
Nice info and review, thank you! I'm really hoping somebody does a review/shootout with these newer SVS (and other brand) subs and the RSL Speedwoofer 10s.
After just getting my Speedwoofer 10s a few weeks ago I have to agree. After it started breaking in I was surprised at how much it puts out in my large room. I know that wirecutter compared the RSL with the non-pro SB1000 and the RSL outperformed it at just about every level so I would be curious to see how much of an improvement the SB1000 Pro offers. It would have to be pretty significant to justify the extra $100 in price compared to the Speedwoofer: www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-subwoofer-for-home/#how-we-tested
@@jesterscorner879 I received my 2nd Speedwoofer 10s just a few days ago. They really are something special as a pair. Absolutely one of the best musical subwoofers I have heard. They are not that shabby with home theater as well.
High-pass is more for home theater, and your AVR will do that. Don't high-pass for music listening. Run the main speakers full range and blend the sub to where they roll off naturally. It's the best way to do it and it's the way audiophiles have been doing it since the beginning.
Unfortunately they are 700€ to 800€ here in germany. Would love to pair one with my AIO Twins'. They were 'only' 700€ so combined it still would be a nice deal.
same as I own two of those! Absolutely love them! They are def. overkill for my medium room size which I had to go below 1/2 way on the gain for two of them; otherwise, overpowering. I think of it this way: it’s like Horsepower: more is better, too much is just right, Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
Is this like the Emotiva SE12, where you can input music from a DAC on RCA’s, then set the bass frequency cut off point so the sub handles the lows, and the higher frequencies pass through to powered speakers?
Don't mess with your pricing and have some customer service. At 499, its very reasonable considering what it is. Question, are there too many controls? Will the average Joe know the difference between the gain at a given freq and the eq? There is a lot going on there.
Because every youtube review I found was super positive about this sub (and svs products in general) I ordered one. Maybe I was expecting to much, but what a disappointment it was. Maybe most of the raving youtube reviews are biased because 90% are american based and svs is a usa based company? My old Elac sub from the early 2000's with a 8 inch cone and 150 watt amp blew the svs out of the water😮😂 the svs sounded slow and sloppy like a 300 pound american , the old Elac tight and controlled.
I started with wanting to upgrade to 2 new pb-1000. Heard they were pretty great for the price. My subs are old... Ended up ordering a PSA TV2112. Not sure what happened there...but holy crap I am excited! I told my wife what to expect but I don't think she really understands yet. She will though...oh yes she will.
For the $600-$1000 range. Go with Rythmik. They are as accurate as subs can possibly get. SVS is good for home theater explosions, but not in sync enough for music. Rythmik can do both for the same price.
Thanks for the video Randy I just got my SVS PB-1000 Pro great app review. 📱 👍🏼 SVS should have left the blue on indicator light only because like blue /on the front like the older PB-1000 🔊
Cheapest price on the SVS 1000 is $819.00 plus 13% tax in Canada. Don't feel like spending close to a grand for one. Can you recommend the best budget bang for the buck? Thank you.
Surprised to see Noone mention rythmik. I'd love to see a review/comparison. Hsu and rythmik always seem top of the list, leaning towards rythmik specially for music from where I've read from. Rythmik L12 their $580 small sealed sub was said to beat handily the sb1000 and was more compared to their $800 sb2000 sub. I just want to see them get some love since I never see any reviewer mention them, they could use some recognition/awareness. Great review either way, their micro sub looks pretty cool too
After checking out as many reviews as I could get my hands on I finally took the plunge and purchased the HSU VTF-2 MK5. I'd previously been utilizing a Polk subwoofer that I was generally happy with in my mid-sized living room. In my research, I found that those who had the opportunity to have reviewed offerings from both HSU and SVS preferred the HSU. In fact, aside from maybe a REL I don't know that there's another subwoofer under $1000 that could do what HSU does. To say the HSU was better than my old Polk would be an understatement. And where some units might be good at music and not home theater or vice versa, the HSU is adept at both. I'd still like to see Randy review it....and Sean from Zero Fidelity too so we can convert him over from REL haha
500 bucks is a rarely high price compared to what he reviews usually so 580 kind of chucks the 'cheapaudioman' term out the window. This sub is unusually well designed with its options, so ìn speaking for he and the channel, I dont believe he likes reviewing much of anything over 500. 3 and 400 bucks is on the rich side onless it a big markdown. I apologize if I seemed quick to speak, I'm quite curious as to whether or not this is a correct observation. Take care.
@@stevesteve8264 if $80 extra is enough for you to not be interested in the subwoofer, so be it. But rythmik and Hsu are its direct competitors, they are always mentioned in the same conversation and usually the pecking order goes from rythmik to Hsu to svs from people who have experienced them and able to actually compare them. Svs is more mainstream, better at sending units out to reviewers which rythmik and Hsu don't do which I think is a huge disservice to their brands, so svs gets the recognition of being internet direct, better performance than brick and mortar options, but there's better out there that people don't know about. I think this price is true Audiophile at a budget, so they are still considered excellent values for the performance you get from them.
@@jamiejwaters thats an excellent sub. I have the brother outlaw x12 which was designed by Hsu as well. Maybe not the preferred version, but it is down firing for the kiddos. Always wanted to hear the hsu and rythmik compared to what I have. But I agree Ive seen many times people who have owned both svs and hsu, keep the hsu.
5:42 The Q-factor gives you the option how wide this little knuckle is. Higher Q for a wider frequency-range, lower Q for a smaller range (if there's only a small peak at f.e. 50 Hz you would set the FREQ at 50 Hz, BOOST level until the highest point of your orange wave reaches the highest level of the peak and with the Q-FACTOR you can adjust the wave to fit in the wideness. To do this you should have an frequency response drawing, in the best case directly in this app. But lets look the video to the end. I just found out the app has no option to get a frequency graph. That's kind of odd because your phone actually have a mic to record and just by hearing you will never get the Parametric-EQ set up to the optimal. Maybe there's an update in the future.
I have a small bedroom converted to a dedicated home theater room measures 12.5 x 12.5 x 9. SVS says dual SB1000Pros would sound phenomenal in a sized room like mine. Your thoughts?
Hey Randy, you seem to be on the lookout for cheap, the Cambridge Audio Minx XL was marked down from $299.99 pr orig., now $169.99 on Amazon in either gloss black or gloss white. Seems like a decent nearfield speaker with a mellow but punchy sound. Basically an upgraded SX-50. FYI.

Bought mine last week , $770 (£640) in uk. I bought it because of the small footprint, must say it's a great sub, expensive tho ( especially as I won't use the app, I'm 2 old 2 techno !)
Hey Randy, I finally signed up through Patreon! I was wondering if you had any experience with REL subs? You seem to have an ear for the nuances of quality bass and I can't help but wonder if a small REL sub might be the perfect complement for a pair of bookshelf speakers, when bass clarity, accuracy and texture is the ultimate goal. There are plenty of subs that can dig deeper and play louder, but they say the REL are the most "musical" of the subs out there. Some of the models go on sale and aren't terribly expensive. I'd love to see a review. Keep up the great work amigo!

For 20$ I got to switch the SVS SB1000 for the Pro version, thanks dealer :D
I was very happy with the non Pro version, it was excellent for music more than for movie in my opponion do to the fast respons but great at both. I am looking forward to the Pro version arriving, cheers.
Got my SB2000 for $499 and really happy with it
Your explanation for setting the Phase was insanely helpful. I never knew how to set this properly.
the way you demo the App‘s features: ace 👍🏻
SVS has really been bringing it with their Subwoofers, Speakers and Amplifiers.
Yeah. They’re doing great things.
Q factor is how W I D E
Or narrow you want the peak or dip to be in the area of equalization.
-✌🏼
Using the SVS Upgrade program I just traded in my SB-1000 for two SB-1000 PRO subs for my stereo system.
Q factor is how wide or narrow the EQ cut or boost is. A higher number will be narrow the frequency range of your boost/cut ..
SVS, Monoprice, Fluance, Elac & Emotiva all deliver in the bang for the buck market. If this is the future of hi-fi I'm on board. Perhaps Edifier should be included.
Don’t forget Schiit! (at least for DACs and headphone amps)
u forgot RSL subs also no pricing shenanigans; no middle man, same price every time;
I second the RSL Speedwoofer 10
Is there anyway I can connect this subwoofer to my active edifier s2000mkiii?
Super innovative that there’s an adjustable phase control to a single degree. This is extremely important for dialing a room and eliminating standing waves. The old zero/180 doesn’t cut it anymore. Don’t own an SVS sub but I think I’m about to buy one. The app control is extremely compelling as well.
YES...the Q.... Simply put.. is how wide the bell curve is on your parametric equalizer.... Centered around your chosen frequency of adjustment.
I just bought a second to add to my Elac UB52 setup.. 799 here in Canada with Canadian Pesos. Hope 2 is worth it.
Starting October 4th, 2021, the price of SB-1000 Pro in Premium Black Ash will increase to $599.99
Good to know, I was going to wait untill black Friday to purchase but now seems redundant if the price is going to increase anyway
I just discovered my sub died today. I've been looking at SVS subs for 10 years, but never had a good reason to upgrade. Maybe it's ok it died now rather than next month.. The first thing the wife asked was if subs are smaller now, so she's ok with the cost based on the size and warranty.
It’s actually $799 now
I was a long time fan of Power Sound Audio subs but, now that I am building out a new set up, I am on a smaller budget and the SVS SB1000 Pro is just the ticket for a smaller set up.
Nice Cheapaudioman that you call out companies for playing with prices all the time. Greetings from Germany once again.
I have the Q350 with Cambridge audio axr 100 and am thinking about getting this sub! The 350s are brilliant
I have the CXA81 with the B&W Matrix 3 speakers. I'm looking for a good sub. I think im gonna get the svs1000 pro after reading your comment :)
DAMN! I just purchased 2 elac 1010's subs 3 months ago and SVS goes and does this. Shoot.... Excellent review Randy, very quick with this one. RATS.... CRAP.... Oh well.....
I just got the SB 1000 now I wish I would’ve got the pro 1000 thank you bunches my buddy have a good day happy Easter to you and your family
If you only just got it contact them about doing a trade in for the Pro.
Q is usually bandwidth adjustment...or wide or narrow frequency grab.
just purchased 2 of these for my newly set up home cinema room. have upgraded a lot of stuff recently, so have all i want now, ready for a calibrator coming up soon. Cant wait till its all dialled in.
Would love to see your thoughts on the RSL Speedwoofer 10S. $400 ported sub, gets great reviews.
They are very hard to come by unfortunately
$770 in uk
@@iansteventon4221 Yeah this is insane, it increased again and the PB-1000 Pro is $800 now in the U.S. I should have bought one last year.
@@Calibur43
Bit pricey mate , but I'm very impressed with mine .
In Europe it costs 849,-- in white and 749,-- in black. Thank you SVS!
It's been a year. Up to $599 now.
I've had my SB1000 (non-pro which you can get for $399 in the outlet now) for over a year now. It's fantastic.
Does it have the guts for decent home theater experience in a medium sized room?
@@chrisselner5005 Easily. Just remember that with any subwoofer placement is key.
Nice! I just picked one up myself! I'm amazed at the power and quality of bass.
Where i live, it costed 564 USD before late 2021, and now it costs 845 USD. Thank you SVS.
You're not a cheap audio man, you're are chief audio man!! 🤘
For low to medium volume music listening which is better Sb1000pro or pb 1000 pro
Love my SVS Prime Bookshelf’s PB-2000 combo!
I just got the original SB1000 (no app) from SVS for $399.
I like that idea better.
Love the channel. Q should just be how wide the band you are adjusting.
FYI....Most AV receivers have remote controls where you can adjust the volume/Db output of your sub via the receiver from the comfort of your couch
Do itttt. Pb 2000 pro causes mini earthquakes inside my house
Q factor is how wide or narrow the bandwidth on the EQ filter is.
Thank you for being direct and to the point unlike so many speaker reviews on RUclips.
The sentiment on price shenanigans did not age well sadly. It's currently $599 every where. $699 if you want it in a non-standard finish.
Yeah,...... This sub is 599 now. Thank you SVS!
Just subscribed. I paid $599.00
Cheapest price I could find.
Love the sb 1000 pro. I just bought two of them.
hi, would be nice if you can review the $350 fluance db12 subwoofer. you don’t do that many subwoofer reviews. will patiently wait for it, thanks cheapaudioman
Clicked for the review. Subbed for the shirt.
1 Year after making this video these are listed at $599. There goes the "these won't go up in price" line.
Nice info and review, thank you! I'm really hoping somebody does a review/shootout with these newer SVS (and other brand) subs and the RSL Speedwoofer 10s.
Yes,Randy needs to get his hands on a Speedwoofer
@@mattgiunt Most reviewers do. It feels like a game changer that still sits undiscovered.
With all those electronics, why not also have a high pass, like on the Emotiva subwoofers?
High-pass is more for home theater, and your AVR will do that. Don't high-pass for music listening. Run the main speakers full range and blend the sub to where they roll off naturally. It's the best way to do it and it's the way audiophiles have been doing it since the beginning.
"Like you're in a space ship"... he get's me.
I picked up a pair of SVS Ultras because of your review. i will be pairing them with this soon.
Really like the cost comparisons at the start of each video. It's a great way to keep intro interesting. Thanks for the video!
In the Netherlands the sub cost now 750 euro
Unfortunately they are 700€ to 800€ here in germany. Would love to pair one with my AIO Twins'. They were 'only' 700€ so combined it still would be a nice deal.
Be really curious to see this compared side by side with the RSL Speedwoofer 10s.
same as I own two of those! Absolutely love them! They are def. overkill for my medium room size which I had to go below 1/2 way on the gain for two of them; otherwise, overpowering. I think of it this way: it’s like Horsepower: more is better, too much is just right, Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
It's now $599
"Inflation/ logistics challenges"
They just had to up the pb-1000 price by $200. I can’t fault them and just bought one to add to my sb-1000
I'm wondering which sub Randy would prefer for music use only. This one or the 12" Emotiva?
I started with wanting to upgrade to 2 new pb-1000. Heard they were pretty great for the price. My subs are old...
Ended up ordering a PSA TV2112.
Not sure what happened there...but holy crap I am excited! I told my wife what to expect but I don't think she really understands yet. She will though...oh yes she will.
Get ready for the divorce 🤣
PSA >>>>>>>> SVS... You choose wisely!
For the $600-$1000 range. Go with Rythmik. They are as accurate as subs can possibly get. SVS is good for home theater explosions, but not in sync enough for music. Rythmik can do both for the same price.
Randy, see if you can review the SVS ultra Bookshelf Speakers. They are a bit pricey, but I have a pair and they would work great with this sub!
Those cost as much as a kidney replacement.
Thanks for the video Randy
I just got my SVS PB-1000 Pro great app review. 📱 👍🏼
SVS should have left the blue on indicator light only because like blue /on the front like the older PB-1000 🔊
Cheapest price on the SVS 1000 is $819.00 plus 13% tax in Canada. Don't feel like spending close to a grand for one. Can you recommend the best budget bang for the buck? Thank you.
Hey Mr. Cheap, SVS jacked the price to 599, Amazon still has it at 449 - but probably not for long. 4/1/22
Great review either way, their micro sub looks pretty cool too
HSU!! For sure, excellent products!
Wow another amazing review !
You nailed it on every aspect and how do I know this you ask ?
Because I own one 😎
$829 now in Canada. I still bought it today!
I have a small bedroom converted to a dedicated home theater room measures
12.5 x 12.5 x 9.
SVS says dual SB1000Pros would sound phenomenal in a sized room like mine.
Your thoughts?
Is it still good at 850? Bec im going to ship it to doha.. ty like your reviews..
FYI.
I’ve actually got a pair and have been waiting on the price drop. Thanks for the heads up!
Im here in Thailand and i can get either the svs sb1000 pro or the martin logan dynamo 800x for about the same price. the martin comes with room correction. any idea which one i should get? thanks
Is this good for studio monitoring applications?

He never said forever.
Hopefully I set up a sub-woofer once per location. When and if I move, will my phone/app combination still be convenient or even still work? Keep this one simple.
How would you compare The PB 1000 pro to the 2000 Pro, Do you think it's worth the extra 600 for the pair?
I’ve never used a sub, but surely a sub should be used for frequencies above 80 hz? I thought they were supposed to go upto like 250
Bought mine last week , $770 (£640) in uk.
I love your reviews, very informative and simple
