5.7 is just really a torquey engine oriented for trucks, and hauling....60 to 130 times for a 5.7 is on par with g37's, and Camry TRD's and performance wise, they'll never really compete with a 6.1 unless they're cammed, and tuned...the 6.1 should of replaced the 5.7 back in 2011 since the r/t was the only trim that did not receive an engine upgrade like the 3.5 to the 3.6 or the 6.1 to the 6.4...r/t's a better start than a 3.6 tho, that's for sure...5.7's were actually quicker than the old 300 hp mustang gt's, and old pontiac g8's during the 05-09 era's, but should of been replaced with a more powerful engine when other american brands started stepping their game up..r/t's weren't always the underdogs..
05 too. Had 05 300C dropped a valve and detonated my engine. Metal pieces in the oil and all. I was heartbroken as a young man with 2 kids. 6k I should've just got a new engine but I was dumb then
Get a closed box cai..... irs cold a cold air intake for a reason it uses the stock hole from under the stock air filter box... ur just recycling that hot engine air and your losing power... and anything before 15 ugly in and out...
Man I’m a mustang guy but I wouldn’t mind picking up a srt 8 it looks more meaner and muscular and I don’t see many around I like to get things a lot move on from it’s rare to see young guys even have a piece of knowledge about cars

The 2015+ rt even with more power and a 8speed trans still loses to stock 6.1 srt8. My cammed 6.1 300 with bolt ons barely beats stock scatpacks.
