Ascension is the most skill intensive of any GoW game. The rage meter is a big part of that. You have to EARN the power and you have to KEEP it. Every fight was so intense on max difficulty. That last fight riding the statue up was horrendously difficult but I felt like a king by the end.
I hope sony eventually either do a remaster of all 6 Greek games with updated textures and assets and release them as a collection or at least port them over and release it as a collection in higher resolution

From personal experience It’s the flashbacks. They really take you out of the story. While the game hyped you up thanks to the beginning. It really gets you bored when you spend an hour or two in a flashback when you just wanna get back to where you left off with the furys

My brother loves the live action trailer. After playing it despite not finishing it, it’s such a fun game and overall wanted to hear TC Carson’s voice work before Christopher judge took over. All in all God Of War Ascension is a good game.
i really wish Santa Monica would push to bring back the multiplayer as a live support. It would really succeed. i feel like that type of game is actually really needed right now. There arent any multiplayer games that make you feel like a badass, while being graphically pleasing with combat and gore, the skill separation, the diversity in how the weapons and armor looked, the game was decently balanced and you felt like a badass WHILE completing the objective. BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!
Don't know how good it is to capture, but the PSP titles also got with the God of War: Origins Collection (or God of War Collection - Volume II) a remaster for PS3, maybe that's an adequate alternative

I got to the God of War franchise pretty late, so for me this was amazing and didn't really experience the fatigue, having played the whole saga back to back on the PS3. Yay for me, as I thoroughly enjoyed it as a prequel. Dude you should totally go for The Witcher 3. It would probably be a 2-hour video I'd gladly watch.
The sound design in this game alone is really impressive. The way the blades slam on the ground as the chains whip around has never been more satisfying in any other GoW game, even in 2018 or Ragnarök.

I genuinely feel about this game how i feel about ds 2 where it feels like if it wasnt released when it was itd be more liked, however it comes after what is probably the best in series and falls into the flaws of earlier games and so doesnt get a lot of credit.
ive always agreed on all the nice compliments from all the gow games, and even if ascensions wasnt the best game and people didnt liked it, there is still alot of good to see here and its always better to see the plusses than the minuses on a game side note: for the psp games there is a way to play them on consoles i believe if its hard to record on the psp itself, or emulation works as well too, (my first gow game ive played was coo on my phone and i was blown away from the gameplay and the whole gow game saga and i would die to see a god coo video T^T)
I'm so mad they took chains of Olympus and ghost of Sparta from ps now. Ghost of Sparta is one of the best gow stories in my opinion, I have grown a great appreciation for ascension.

I think my least favorite thing about this game is that it turns the first game into what it's not, but everyone thinks it is; a basic revenge story. I know he's rather controversial right now, but UnderTheMayo made a REALLY great video on why the first game isn't a revenge story, and I highly recommend watching it. He makes a lot of great points (for once), and some of those are basic and icon moments in the game, like it's opening cutscene.
GOW ascension is not the best game of the saga, but this games has so much content for the lore of Kratos , it’s worth it. Also this game story happens before Chains Of Olympus.

I like how the Spartans in the gauntlet fight with empowered weapons, I always thought Kratos's where special in ghost of Sparta, nope, all spartans had magic weapons

I never finished Ascension. After slugging through the Trial of Archimedes I finally got past it... only to find the next section for me was glitched and broke my game. It is certainly nice to see the rest of the story. Also sad I never played the multiplayer of this game. It looked so fun.
I am SO glad the poor reception of this game didn't discourage Santa Monica from the creation of the Norse series. If anything, I'd like to think the poor reception actually encouraged Santa Monica to make GoW 2018 (and hopefully Ragnorock) the best possible game they could be. Really hard to hate this installment

Win like 85ish: nah man. Kratos not only just gets bored and uses the environment, my man is possibly the most resourceful video game protagonists of all time. Much better than 95% of survival game protagonists.
I feel if the marketing didn't push the multi-player so hard and MABYE held the release back a year.. So it would be to ps4 what gow 2 was to the ps3, a great looking game on the older concole it would have sold and been recived better... Fans who hadn't made the switch would be happy to get a new game and having it be the last big ps3 release would have helped build hype
