    I’ve worked for local authorities- terribly wasteful

    • @julianshepherd2038
      @julianshepherd2038 3 дня назад +4

      I've worked for three and there was waste but nothing like the waste at the international corporation I worked for.
      It was a surprise to me and I conclude that large organisations aren't always better.

    • @pipoo1
      @pipoo1 3 дня назад +1

      Any large organisation public or private develops a capacity to waste money. One of the most significant is when they subcontract out services but only to “preferred bidders” who knowing they are a preferred bidder charge them vastly inflated sums to provide said service, when in some instances smaller local firms could provide the same services but save in some cases millions.

    So she’s going to clatter businesses with an NI increase. What does the stupid woman think will happen. Employers will simply resort to using contractors so they don’t have pay. Bit like when pensions became mandatory under David Cameron. Companies cut down how many full time employees they took on so they didn’t have to pay. They used people on lower hours contracts. Both ways mean workers don’t give a toss about their job and makes business less efficient. Watch this space

    "Inheritance Tax is the first tax Labour is expected to look at. Right now, Inheritance Tax takes 40 percent of every £1 over £325,000 in your estate."
    Considering that there are a huge amount of very large value estates in the UK, surely HMRC must be blessed with massive tax income.
    Then there is the baby boomers about to leave the stage.
    For example say someone like the Duke of Westminster passes, does that mean his estate effectively has to pay 40 percent of it's total value to the taxman, OR more likely it has not because of those tax loopholes?
    Those tax loopholes have been in existence for centuries and has enbbled the really wealthy to safeguard their wealth, whilst poor Joe Blogs has not a hope in hell of avoiding this awful tax.
    If this government were to level the playing field on inheritance tax, then I would welcome it, but I fear that there is no chance of that.
    This Labour Governemt and a Tory Government are but tweele dee and tweedle dum.
    Why should a pensioner and a worker pay over 20% of their income to the taxman whilst the likes of the Duke pay a far smaller percemtage of their income again because of those tax loopholes?
    The UK today is a failed broken unproductive state, ever since Thatcher was in power.
    It will be tax increases on cigarettes, booze and fuel as usual.
    I will be filling my tank before tomorrow...

      No, that's growth for the big corporations. Don't pin small business owners in with the massive public companies, they aren't even remotely the same thing...
