OMG that opening xD I never read Brent Weeks, but it sounds interesting; the cover is sooo pretty! "Do Androids..." is such a great book, so unusual, and I loved how it discussed empathy and the existencialism in it, as you mentioned. Sanderson, of course. It's great!!! I haven't read "To Sleep..." but was considering the audiobook because of the narrator. Great list!!

Great video! I love hearing how people got into reading. It's such pure, genuine curiosity. Early readers don't know what to expect and often have their minds blown, and that sort of passion is fantastic to witness. I remember I got into reading because at the time I really enjoyed playing RPGs on my playstation (the first one). I noticed I was reading all day while playing those and thought, "I enjoy the reading more than the game sometimes. Maybe I should just read some books." I stumbled on the Redwall books as a kid and I loved them, still have a few copies that I read way back then. I didn't get into scifi until much later in my twenties.
    Happy reading sir!

😂I like how you called out "the first one" for your PlayStation. The PS1 was my first console, freaking loved that thing.
I have never read Redwall 😮

Do Androids Dream is one of my favourites of all time! Great choice. Also Shadow and Black Prism are both awesome too, as well as TWoK obviously! Great video as always

I am new to your channel, so idk if you've read any of Moorlock's novels. I'd 100% recommend you the Elric sags or the Corum trilogies or the Hawkmoon series.
Having said that I'll definitely try 'The way of Kings".

I enjoy reading books too! Although I am not satisfied with the translated editions, I am not proficient enough to read English-edition books on my own. With the help of the web extension Immersive Translate, I can grasp the basic meaning of the passages. I hope I can get closer to these intriguing books.

@@BiblioTheory i watched it but I didn't realize it was more of an adaptation of a story than a translation like Dune or similar movies. I'm really enjoying the worldbuilding in the first couple chapters so far. :)

Heeeck yes, Lightbringer still deserves more love imo! Also, fun fact, Kip means chicken in Dutch, and I find that inexplicably funny and ironic 🤣 For me it was admittedly ACOTAR that served as my gateway drug back into reading, but I got into regular adult fantasy through Nevernight, Riyria Revelations, and yes... Mistborn!
