fan won't shutoff even when system is off. Once you go through all the complication of wiring this thermostat up... one doesn't want to have to revisit the unit. I'll be looking at a different Thermostat.
To be honest, even with all its' abilities functioning, I generally used mine just like the old timey ones where I set the temp I wanted and the thermostat just held it there. The feature I liked best is that I was able to control the thermostat with my cell phone.
Having the same issue now…Fan will not shut off…I switched out with same model from another zone and fan cuts off then. But switch back to the other one fan stays on. And update on fix?
I keep receiving a message “waiting for equipment” on my dehumidifier. If I turn air temperate down, it begins working. If I turn air temperature up, my dehumidifier goes back to “waiting for equipment.” Anybody have any tips before I call company to assist?
HONEYWELL says the same thing to all their customers. " we will reset the system on our end and a engineer is on the case " total BS that is why they are going out of business. Had issues with both my 9000 color display units. They also lost connection to web 4 times a week. My install was done by pro so not my problem its HONEYWELL. They have a 2 star rating on AMAZON
I'm sorry to hear that, but not surprised, as my last call wasn't even put on hold - the message just said to call back some other time as they were busy now. As a testament to how many people are having issues with the Honeywell thermostat(s), this video is my most viewed video. I'm sure that a good number of people were looking for solutions to other issues on the thermostat. The point I'm making is that a lot of people are having varying issues with these thermostats.
Couple more questions then, do you still recommend it? And why do you have the temperature at 84? Seems really high, is the devices reading accurate? Thanks in advance.
Yes, I still like the thermostats, as this is the only problem I've had with them, and it is only on one unit. I believe that Honeywell will eventually resolve the issue (I'll post the resolution when it happens). Keep in mind, that my thermostats are reading the temperature in Fahrenheit, so it is reading a little less than 29 Celsius. I live in Florida, so 84 degrees doesn't seem that hot, because we are used to the heat.
When the thermostats work, I really like them. Not being able to get hold of customer support is starting to sway my initial recommendation of the unit. There are more competitors hitting the market with web enabled thermostats every day, so at this point, if I had to replace the thermostats, I would be looking at the competitors.
I was new to editing videos and posting them, so was still learning what works and what doesn't. Also, don't like the sound of my own voice, so was trying to keep my talking to a minimum and thought music would help with that.
I have been updating the video description section with my progress (no progress) with Honeywell. They have not resolved my initial issue yet. A couple weeks ago, I think they were experiencing system-wide problems, as I was having problems connecting with their system intermittently.
Terrible customer service, I still can't connect even though I have a strong signal at the thermostat ???? I'm on the phone for 35 minutes and NO answer! DON'T BY THIS THERMOSTAT!!!
I've had a couple of times where one or more of my thermostats lost connection. I thought it would resolve itself if I left it a day or so, but no luck on that route. I finally disconnected from my local area network, then reconnected like it was the first time connecting the thermostat. That has worked every time for me so far.
My thermostat lost its wifi connection for no reason. I entered screen unlock password to get to the wifi menu but there still was no wifi menu. Next I went and turned the screen password option completely off and then the wifi menu finally showed up. Then it still wouldn't connect to wifi so I unplugged my router and plugged it back in. Went to wifi settings on thermostat and put in password and waited about 3 minutes and it finally reconnected and started displaying the outdoor temperature again. I've only had this thermostat 2 days as of this moment. This is not a good sign.
That happens at the time of year that I created the video. During Fall and Spring time, I tend to leave the windows open at night, which lets in the higher humidity air. Here in Florida, the humidity doesn't bother us quite as much as it does in some other parts of the country.
Seems a little suspicious that they are blaming the cable company, as your system previously worked with the same cable company didn't it? Are you having trouble connecting the thermostat to your Local Area Network (LAN) in your house, or are you having trouble accessing the thermostat when away from your house. In other words, while in your house, with your cell phone connected to the same home network as your thermostat, can you operate your thermostat?
Sounds a little fishy to me. Of course, I'm not very knowledgeable in that end of things. The only thing I can think of, is that maybe your internet company has you on a dynamic IP address instead of a static IP, and maybe Honeywell's service can't keep up with the dynamic IP changes. Sorry I can't be of assistance, as I know this kind of thing is frustrating.
Finally got the thermostat to work. honeywell was useless 1 hr 20 min on hold and then half hour of BS then they blamed the cable company. I kept re-registering thermostat then finally It said, turn heat to 76 and it worked. Honeywell customer service is USELESS!!! IT TOOK HOURS. I'm TALKING TO India very difficult to understand! Great thermostat but I wouldn't buy it because of customer service.
Wow! Glad you were finally able to resolve the issue John. Like you, I am reassessing my purchase of these Honeywell thermostats due to the lack of good technical support.
Thanks, 5150. I wish I knew what happened? I'm GUESSING, Honeywell might have done something on their end that enabled me to go back online?? Just guessing! Wishful thinking.
I"m sorry you are having trouble with your thermostat. I sold my home a couple years ago now. Other than the issue I described previously, I had no other issues with them. The person that bought my house replaced all the thermostats and HVAC unit about a year after they bought the house.
With all this wonderful technology comes wonderful issues....Good PSA....Good stuff...
Lol, you've got a point there Scott! Thanks for the constructive comment.

@@keltis1844 i got my entire HVAC updated which came with new thermostats. 🤷🏾♂️
My fan idle won’t turn off after I just turned off my heater

Haven't seen that error - sorry
Mine says temp sensor error, replace thermostat.
Mine says same thing what’s the fix . Thermostat is only three months old
Mine is same...1 month old!
@@kennethmartabano6613 I wonder if there was a software update that messed it up
Mine just started two days ago, shows outside temp every once in a while, other wise just get the replace thermostat message

Why so much time wasted with all your background music?

did you receive any results from Honeywell? I lost my wifi connection and can't reconnect.

1 HOUR 25 MINUTES JUST PICKED UP. I WILL LET YOU KNOW RESULTS IF ANY. IM ON HOLD!!
Did they get you fixed up?
Has this issue been fixed since?
Unfortunately, the issue has not been resolved at this point. It is strange that I have this issue on only one out of four of my thermostats.
You are running extremely high humidity levels.
That happens at the time of year that I created the video. During Fall and Spring time, I tend to leave the windows open at night, which lets in the higher humidity air. Here in Florida, the humidity doesn't bother us quite as much as it does in some other parts of the country.

accessing the thermostat remotely. It worked for 4 months.
