Dear Mr. pipes my name is Glenn Smith I’m building a home here in Saint Augustine Florida it’s a 1900 square-foot home the AC guy is coming out today to talk to the builder on his budget sheet he has a Linux written down to be put in I said no to the builder on Lenix and I suggested a Bosch unit which he will check into but we have to stay within budget what would be your second and third best unit for here in Florida for my situation I appreciate it very much
Removing a stat has to be done from the Web, can't be done from the App. Also, you get monthly usage reports on heating/cooling hours used per month and a comparison to the same month of the prior year, which is nice. Not all flavors support 2 stage AC, so when using for commercial units make sure to buy the correct one.
Have had experiences with several thermostats and Honeywell smart thermostats like the Prestige and 9000 work the best. They do a good job inserting a couple of extra cycles per hour to keep the temperate more consistent and the overcooling feature does a good job controlling high humidity. Some other brands will not overcool until the temperature goes above the setpoint with each cycle. Honeywell will keep it a couple of degrees cooler during periods of higher humidity if you enable overcooling. One thing mine lacks is any type of lockouts on the cooling and heating. If you say turn the AC down low with a temporary override. When the override expires it will turn the heat on right away if the temperature is below the heating setpoint. It will do this even it it's 80 degrees outside. Should have some type of delay at least when running in autochangeover mode. Same with heat. Lets say someone turns the heat up to 75 till 5 pm. When it goes back to schedule and the cooling is set to 74, it will turn the AC on to lower the temperature to 74 even if it's 20 degrees outside. C'mon Honeywell use some logic! I want a true set it and forget it with fail safes. I put my own lockouts so the heat can't run if it's above 65 and the AC won't run if it's below 50. Other than that no complaints.
The most difficult part was to wi fi setting and customer call cust support....why???wires in tstat base connector so small plastic ....and tstat wire seems too big for small cavity. Is my only complaint Took me 5 min to inst and 5 to wire and 45 min to connect to wifi. U rite about Response Time....pls get people w no accent on cust support We are in America pls
Timing on your video is quite excellent. One of my customers asked me to replace their old T stat with something newer with remote control capability. I chose the Honeywell 9000. Good to know I made the right decision.
Honestly I have a Nest and it's not too bad.. App seems like it was designed by a 2 year old but it's fully functional.. Was free through a program with our electric/gas company so I'm not complaining. Moving soon and plan on using in the new house.
Some thermostats require a jumper. Does this one require that connection? How do I know? The person who tossed out my $250 claimed it was bad and replaced it with a $20 one. They claimed it not heating was normal and that the heat pump had to be subsidized with a kerosene heater. They didn’t connect the emergency heat jumper. There is more to the story but don’t see the need to tell the entire drama.
I have the same exact thermostat. I have forced air for air conditioning and then a hydronic boiler for heating on initial setup do I choose forced air or boiler.

Can I have some advice I really want to go on my own doing this type of work I know how to do the stuff it's been a dream I've loved furnaces and ac since I was little the problem is I'm only 22 and I guess that scares people I really want to do this but idk I guess some people think I can't do it

I need help with my new 9000 Honeywell thermostat. It was professionally installed. I want it to use heat, to warm my home, and cool to cool it down, automatically, WITHOUT swiping the MODE from cool to heat. Is that possible. ..?..
Dear Pipe Doctor PI, I have a Nest thermostat which I hate hate hate! I wonder if you know of one thermostat which can go on wi-fi by itself, that the numbers on the screen be large(because I need reading glasses every time I need to check on the temp), and that it has a large screen. Those are my 3 needs. The reason I need for it to detect the wi-fi is because I shut off my wi-fi at night, and in the morning I turn it back on. But the nest thermostat will not pick up on the wi-fi every morning, but rather needs me to re-program it as it if were the first time I am connecting it to the wi-fi. This is one of the reasons I no longer change my temperature from my couch using my computer because I have to get up and reprogram the unintelligent thing !!
Mikey, I've installed the Honeywell home 9000 today everything installed fine except in the IOS Resideo app. The Resideo app does not have the Honeywell Home 9000 thermostat in the selection list, therefor I cannot control it from apple phone which has the latest IOS version 16.2. Resideo app is the problem as they don't have it as part of the selection. I've been to the Resideo website but I can't find anything regarding this thermostat. I bought this thermostat so that I can control it from my iphone not my deskstop. Any ideas ? Have you heard anything about this issue with this thermostat not being on the Resideo iphone app? thanks for your help.
Does this thermostat talk outside your local wi-fi network? If so, non-starter. I am tired of all these corps. having access to my private information. If they want access to me, then they can approach me with an offer to pay me for tracking my every move…I even got rid of my smart phone, basic flip phone with no apps from here on out.

Whats the deadband on this stat? 2° above and 2° below setpoint? I didnt see anything in the manual if it was changeable. Looking to change out my venstar.
for excitement, touch all the thermostat wires together at once, except for common. Actually, I don't know how the control boards handle that now days, years ago with simple relays or controls they'd bang everything on at once, fan heat and cooling making a giant lossy dehumidifier 🤣
I have a 2 story house. one furnace. the colder it gets outside naturally the more the furnace runs. The upstairs gets hotter the more colder it gets outside. I have the honeywell rth9580 thermostat downstairs. Ive contemplated installing another rth9580 upstairs, but not sure how that would work, or just moving the downstairs thermostat upstairs. Not sure what to do. I like the honeywell rth9580 but not sure if it will handle 2 thermostats controlling the same furnace unless they talk to each other????
I actually need a new thermostat lol Mine is acting up. I just moved and it's terrible but don't have the funds to replace it right now until I start work haha
Hey Mike, I have a Nest 3rd generation installed in my furnace (Kerosene) I also have an old Honeywell and I installed together with the Nest, the reason I installed the honeywell was because just in case the Nest fails, the honeywell kicks in, I set the nest at 55 degrees and the honeywell at 48. Do you see any problem having two installed together??

Cell phones have had a built in GPS for over a decade now. If it’s on u are tracked.
of course they do, step one is them phoning home to their company(or hosted cloud), so you can connect to the same cloud host and gain access to them.
