      It's never pratical when you need to change all your setup to setup the table or something else, and vice versa.
      It maybe look pratical on a video, but once you have to live like that every day changing furniture ect. to be able to "create" the table ect.
      I'm sure you can find something bigger for the same price or lower
      I would rather not buy that, and do 10 minutes more of bus or driving every day to get someting bigger than live in this little box
      But the job is done, make the box a mini-studio ^^

    • @yas7689
      @yas7689 6 лет назад +64

      ah i see... i agree about that too. but for someone living alone (and planning to do so for longer time) like me i won't need that dining table that much tho. as for the tv/pc switching i always do/redo my laptop setup for almost 3 years now. that remote-controlled frosted glass, I'll use the conventional one. in my current flat i don't watch TV unless when i gather with frends or want some anime and chill so... it's "practical" for me i guess haha

    • @Danirio96
      @Danirio96 6 лет назад +11

      for 35m2 it's not that good, there's still so much room around things. It's nice, has cool features, but its not the definition of maximum use of space that it seems to claim. 35m2 is small for current standards but a single or a couple can live perfectly fine.

    The channel is ''never too small'', not ''never too expensive''. Nobody ever said or claimed they live there because they have to. People, myself included, love small spaces. That's why we don't look at it as a ''saving money'' but it's actual living and if we have money, it's even more economical to make small home a designer home, than a mansion.

      I was just about to say that. I live in a 26m2 apartment and it's completely fine. I could live here forever and don't any more space.

      Agree. 35m² is a normal flat. 9m² is what we call small here.

    Probably my favorite video so far and I’ve seen plenty on this channel! What a great appartement! What a great design. The kitchen wall, the umbrella through the 3 shelves, the bathroom, the window between kitchen and bathroom!!! The way desk disappears and tv appears!

    I love small builds as it's the most fun restriction. It's relatable to most of us, who all grew up wishing we had bigger spaces. It forces such attention to detail. Notice how the shoe rack has an umbrella stand, but its just 3 or 4 holes accross each shelf? This way he can have umbrellas of different heights, or simply just utilise the maximum possible space on that shoe rack. Ingenius!

    i definitely agree that this space isnt that "small," but the reason this is considered small is because there is a LOT of space in america and most americans are used to either homes or apartments with multiple rooms. yall gotta relax, this isnt a small apartment contest 😭

      It’s Australia but your point still stands. Australia is similar to America with large houses and lots of room

      Samantha Arr Yes indeed. This isn't tiny, and it's not really medium sized. Small describes it perfectly.

      lsamoa yes and no! Until very recently, Australian cities operated very differently to European or US cities. Our central business districts were rarely also where people lived. Australian cities were almost entirely empty out of business hours as city workers almost without exception lived in the suburbs. Even inner urban living was not really fashionable until around 20 years ago. There’s been flurries of high density inner city living in recent years, changing the face of Australian living styles. But, it is still rare for families with children to live in inner city apartments.

    I love this unit. After seeing so many of the clever designs on NTS, this remains my favourite after all this time. So inspiring and well thought out. Noticed he sold it in 2022. Lucky new owner

    I’ve watched Chen’s video on other tiny/small house YT channels but haven’t stopped myself from watching again and again Cus of the designs and the functionality that pulls me back. I love how the bicycle behind the sofa changed into a wooden bike after a year (on some other channel) , shows transition within the space :)
