I would have put my microwave on top of the fridge to give me more room and ,put the other stuff behind the fridge somewhere else but, I got to tell you as small as that place is its really cute I love it!!
It's crazy how people in New York deal with living like this. You make your apartment look amazing and deal with having no space very well but it's crazy to me. I just couldn't do it
I believe it depends where in N.Y. I lived in Riverdale had a one bdrm w tons and huge closet space. Both living room and bdrm were big as well. Th kitchen was small and bathroom I'd say descent size as well.
My husband and I have been IKEA fans for decades. When we downsized to a 775 square foot apartment we gave several of our original IKEA pieces to our son and grandchildren. Then we went to IKEA and purchased new furniture, storage for our new phase of our lives. I really enjoyed watching your video. Reminded me of us, 25 years ago!
Nice video! I really like your apartment. I would suggest you put some shelves in the open fireplace area, for extra books, plants, whatever. I love the painted brick wall, and also the flooring.
Cute apartment! A friend of mine lived in Hell's Kitchen on 46 St between 9th and 10th Ave back in the 1970's. Her apartment had a tiny bathroom with just a sink and toilet. THE BATHTUB ITSELF, WAS IN THE KITCHEN!!!! It had a huge hinged lid that covered it so if you didn't know it was a tub, you would just think it was counter space.
J SMITH I don’t have a problem with small apartments but atleast the ppl making the apartment could actually plan smart I’ve seen apartments with huuugggeee bathrooms but the fridge can’t fit in the intended kitchen 😕😕
I shared one of those apartments on East 14th Street in the 60s. The tub cover was not hinged. We took the lid off and stood it STRAIGHT up, vertically, between the end of the tub and the stove. So, if there were people in the front room (which was straight ahead, all the rooms in one row) You could be in the bathtub and nobody could see you. You entered through the kitchen. The toilet was outside in the hall so you had to unlock your door and go out in the hall to use it. Each apartment had its own toilet though. Anybody whose lived in New York City knows this arrangement.
@@ntakovacj3644 Yep. I lived in a fifth floor walk-up years ago that was like that. My bathtub (and only sink!) was in the kitchen and the toilet was literally just a water closet off the living room. Interesting!
These types of incredibly functional coffee tables are the ones that I've always liked the most. They are really useful and at least yours has a super nice design. I'm lovin 'it. I think I should get one like this to use with my Florence sofa from Manhattan Home Design. It would make a big difference! Thanks for the tour. It's a wonderful place.
She said 'the bedroom is really just a bedroom because you can only fit just a bed'.... and it really was! I found this interesting, thanks for sharing. The one thing I would do is to have furniture do double duty, like the coffee table, for storage
First time I’ve seen the front door in a kitchen. Although I’m just about to watch a whole bunch of the NYC apartment tours so I’m sure it’s not the last. It’s amazing how many people have to live like this these days. I would not want the wall side of the bed! Nicely done up little pad though.
What a great little place! Very cute, how you've decorated it. It's a shame that the fireplace no longer works. How cozy would that be on a winter evening to light a nice fire while you enjoy a glass of wine?!
Gentrification. Happening in every city. It’s to bad in that people that have lived there forever are being forced out and the prices these people are paying, just unbelievable really. But the landlords see dollar signs and don’t care about the natives. But they are going to to do it to themselves, they are not going to be able to afford it either as prices continue to soar
I find the American mentality of small living super interesting! I also live in NYC and have a 700 sq feet apartment that fits my husband, dog and I perfectly! We even have an extra room we've converted into a "dining" room"! -- I have a short term vacation rental right in the heart of midtown manhattan that I rent out separately, its 550 sq ft... and in my opinion a great deal by NYC standard... European guests simply love the place and totally think its BIG! Where as Americans think it's tiny, I think the concept of living with large square footage, to signify comfort is a luxury that even the wealthy in many in European countries are happy to live without. Big doesn't equal better, and what people miss is that while we "choose" to live this way (given salaries in NYC are higher then most places in the USA) -- because we choose to have the accessibility to everything 24/7. While at the same time being surrounded by the "WORLD" all in a little crowded Island... the experience of living in NYC even just for a year changes and helps you evolve to the core, and for that we live small... no one is home anyway lol!
One of my favorite apartment tour videos yet. Thanks for sharing. I love all the space saving options and it looks like your space has great energy. You know the counter only fell because it wasn't in the studs. You could reinstall it if you make sure it's mounted in wood behind the sheet rock.

My only two thoughts are to move your toaster oven to in the living area to have counter access it’s using, and just paint your AC unit black, add a metal shelf on top (decorate the top), and move the lamp to the other side of the couch, so you still have a full window unblocked by a window unit. Hii! I honestly cannot remember off of the top of my head what the management company was called, it wasn't really a complex and just a walkup. But I'd be happy to look it up for you! Shoot me a DM on insta just so I don't forget! lol :) xx
Love your apartment! With that being said, your coffee table is overpriced. I would have invested that money into my sofa but it's your money and your apartment! I also love your use of space!
I like the door in the kitchen as it saves a lot of space. I wud move that toaster oven as you can not afford to lose that only bit of counter space you have. Why do u need such a big toaster oven as you already have an oven? Get that shelf table back on wall asap. Yr poor partner must bump into that sofa table outside yr bedroom door a dozen times per week and that cabinet in the middle of yr bathroom omg what a thing to have to navigate. I hope the plants are real.
Don't want to see inside the cupboards and stating the obvious is such a waste of time. This is the stove, this is the sink, this is the coffee maker, this is the toaster oven, this is the fridge...see what I mean. Okay enough of that...cutest little table ever! The penny round top...just adorable. Love the fire place. Woe! that is a big TV for such a small space. Such an adorable apartment, love the bones of it.
Bird of paradise for $60. is crazy expensive. I've have bought several of this same plant for $5. but of course I live in TEXAS on the border with Mexico on the Gulf of Mexico.

Great video, and you have a great personality! If I may make a constructive suggestion, though, if you just film and talk without gesticulating with your hand, the video would be a lot less shaky.

Space Cat wow awesome! Thanks so much for the info! x
Also i hate to tell u they will charge u guys for the holes u made in that original brick fireplace to mount ur large TV.
Hi! I plan on moving to New York for college and I was just wondering if you were comfortable telling me what this apartment complex is called and where it’s located. I absolutely love it, but I understand if you aren’t able to tell me
If you’d rather dm me, my Instagram is @graciefairbanks or my twitter is @bea1estreet
I thought the same thing, that’s crazy expensive. But to each their own!
Beautiful!
What is the square footage of this apartment?
Very cozy and nice😊
Don't want to see inside the cupboards and stating the obvious is such a waste of time. This is the stove, this is the sink, this is the coffee maker, this is the toaster oven, this is the fridge...see what I mean. Okay enough of that...cutest little table ever! The penny round top...just adorable. Love the fire place. Woe! that is a big TV for such a small space. Such an adorable apartment, love the bones of it.
How much is the rent per month?
A lovely home ❤️❤️❤️
Bird of paradise for $60. is crazy expensive. I've have bought several of this same plant for $5. but of course I live in TEXAS on the border with Mexico on the Gulf of Mexico.
they are only supposed to be in warm enviornments
How much is rent there
Get a piece of wood over the sink. It will act as extra prep space.
Amazing floors!
Speak a little slower! Too fast is hard to understand and the echo doesn't have enough time to fade before you layer on the next sound.
Dont check your headphones its the mic that making cracks
Your design is very well thought out, it looks great. I really like that brick fireplace, it makes a nice statement. I hope you sent that table back to Amazon. A lot of their products fall apart. I will never order from them (boycott)!!
This is a cute apartment!
Thank you! xx
Do you like shelves? Put on sofa space....on top
Great video, and you have a great personality! If I may make a constructive suggestion, though, if you just film and talk without gesticulating with your hand, the video would be a lot less shaky.
I'm looking to move to New York. How much does an apartment like this for for per month?
Awesome! It's worth it :) This place was $1895. Hope this helps! xx
Tomasilienne wow! 😲. You can rent a three bedroom /2 bath (possible balcony) in Chicago for that!
@Taylor I know, Dear, but it doesn't lessen the shock of seeing what someone is paying in another city that I would consider to be exorbitant where I live.
The PLANT was $66!!!
