This is the first of Mahler's five Ruckert-Lieder, recorded at Avery Fisher Hall with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic. Performed at the opening of the 1989-90 season.

There are discs on itunes and amazon with the recordings of jessye norman's Ruckert Lieder but not of this exact performance. They are done on Piano, but still pretty god. I never found any with an orchestra unfortunately

Does anybody remember when that concert took place? And has that video been or will be released on DVD?
She's never recorded those songs hasn't she (I mean on CD)?
I know she did Kindertotenlieder and Fahrenden Gesellen but I'm not aware about her recording the Rükerts.
I have an old recording of the Rückert I took on the radio when the CBC broadcasted a performance from Salzbourg or Vienna with Colin Davis (I guess???) That too was exquisite. Hope one day they will release all those tapes.
