- Hey folks, today I'm showing you a Phalaenopsis Moth Orchid with bud blast that I bought marked down on sale from Waitrose. The flower buds are dead or dying and I thought this would be a good opportunity to show you how I inspect the roots, repot and discuss the various causes of bud blast.
Hope this helps some of you!

Great rescue! I always see orchids that are discounted and I do get tempted each time, I think next time I see one that has pretty colours and isn’t just white, I’ll get it and give it a go! Thanks for sharing Emma!
Thanks Jerry!! There's something so satisfying about an orchid rescue 🤩
Have not really been interested in orchids, but I do believe you may just convert me. Good detailed video 💚💚
Hehe, maybe if I keep posting about orchids all the time 😂 thank you! ❤️
I love orchids. Thanks to my Nana who loved them. Her house was full of them. I wish I'd had more time to get her tips on how to look after them. So, please do keep posting Orchid content.I have two currently. Nearly lost them as the window I had them on despite being North East facing was still too hot for them. Have moved them to a North facing window which is also shaded from outside and suddenly they are sprouting new leaves (which are not so wrinkly now), new roots too and generally reviving. I'd love to have loads more orchids but I don't have the space. Every other window is either East, South or West facing which Orchids don't like. Just two window would work but one is a bathroom and my parrot will kill the orchids there!!!
Thank you for the gumption - I will keep going with orchid content!! They are beautiful aren't they! What part of the world are you in? (Just curious because of the NE window being the too hot) - sounds like they are doing well in the north facing window now 😊
@@emma.greenwood Please do. Its nice to get different perspective. I do love Miss Orchid Girl's content as well and her content has helped me a lot since my Nana passed away a few years ago. I'm in the UK - East Anglia (and a very very old house - approx 600 yrs old!) so North/North East windows are the coolest and shaded for me. Living room is East, West and south facing so gets sun all day long.
Apart from wisteria (purple colour) Orchids are my favourite flower particularly the phalaenopsis. I want to perfect looking after those ones before I try other types. Subject to limited space!
Good work! I love It! Me encanta! Eu amo orquídeas!
