The biggest cactus and succulent haul ever!
A few weeks ago I had a dramatic incident with my cactus and succulent collection, but luckily I have been able to replenish my lost plants (or some of them at least!) at the two recent British Cactus and Succulent Society shows in Oxfordshire.
I can't believe I have managed to get so many plants all in one go. I am so super pleased with them all, even despite the one disaster!!

Plant haul from Spicesotic Plants! (slightly disappointing unboxing)
Просмотров 491Год назад
I bought some lovely orchids from Spicesotic Plants recently and spent a good amount (whoops!) I'm not mad keen on the state of most of these plants although I am confident I can recover them. But I must admit I am a little disappointed. To be fair to them though I haven't mentioned anything about this to them, so take with a pinch of salt as it could be a one-off. I probably would buy again th...

Hey everyone! It's been a while hasn't it? I currently have COVID which has given me some time during isolation to actually edit some videos. My mum and I went to the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew Orchid Festival 2023 a few weeks ago. This year the theme is Cameroon. I'm going to do a Part 2, much like last year, as I got so much footage! This first part covers the main areas of the Princess of Wal...

Hey everyone, I have two gorgeous new Hoyas to show you today and I am so chuffed with them! I was a bit worried as they got stuck in the Royal Mail postage strikes but thankfully they came out OK. What do you think of these two? I reckon they were great value for money combined, I am absolutely in love with them. eBay seller: www.ebay.co.uk/str/yoursplants Follow me on Instagram: instagram.com...

Wish you would get to the point quicker!!!
🤣 I'm a rambler - luckily for you there are other people out there who ramble less 🙂
Wow thanks for the information greatly appreciate it very useful and just wanted to let you know I love that table behind you it's amazing piece of art what did you get it it looks very old and vintage
Ahh thank you - it is a vintage blanket box, the dealer reckoned about 300 years old. I'm very lucky to have it! 😍
Sorry didn't answer your question in my other comment - it's from an antiques dealer called 'Gilt and Grain' in Oxfordshire UK :)
Hey i was just wondering if you still have it????
Hey, I had it for a long time then we downsized when we bought a house, so I 'unpotted' the plants and sold the tank. Still have plenty of smaller terrariums on the go though 🙂
I also hate them. they look like a cat scratcher is stuck in the pretty plants!!
I’m new to your channel and Lynn is a smart woman with cactus she is my go to person when I have problems with my cati enjoyed your video have a great day
Qu'est devenu votre Vanda ?
Thankyou do you always use royal mail?
I have so far without incident other than a recipient leaving their missed delivery pickup for days on end - generally been OK but I'm now aware that some areas have 'low priority delivery ' meaning their deliveries are reduced to like once a week 😞 haven't sent anything since I found that out!
I love your plant selection. The jewel orchids are a wonderful idea. I will be adding them to my creation. More rocks and driftwood would be great. Get a bit more organized with your plant names before you role your video. Otherwise, a bit quicker with your talking and not repeating items. An aquarium light fixture on top would let you place the terrarium anywhere in your house. Nice inspiration!
Very beautiful youtuber
Thank you for this! Do they explain the ancestors of the plants?
Recién me dí cuenta de la esponja y me mató a 2 😢😢😢, bueno, a ver si logro salvarlas
I also recently got a tylecodon buchholzianus. Really funky plant, mine has grown leaves atm since it’s in its growth period rn.
Nice..where did u get all these fantastic plants ?
My draceana marginata is 5' tall. Divides in two half way up. It used to droop over and be tied up with string but in the last couple of years I've got it self-supporting by positioning it correctly to the window light. It's become very healthy since I fed it with boiled potato water. Now whenever I boil veg, pasta or potatoes I save the water and give it to various succulents and cacti. Everything has become extremely green and healthy, my orchid is in bud for the 2nd time this year. I have a routine of watering house plants each two weeks.
Nice Orchid ❤
how are they holding up after 3 years? Was it a investment that you would recommend or not?
Hi and wow exciting to know about variegation. I was wondering about my begonia angel wing. It's lighted dotted for 13 yrs then I cut it right down cause it was so leggy. Now some of the leaves turned out just green. It's normal spot. Tell me what you think
Wow ❤❤❤
Why don’t you follow your own advice and give your plants the light and care they need?😢 And I don’t see what’s so funny about reading your scraggly neglected plants on video
It breaks my heart to see your abused and neglected plants
Dont talk show it.
Don't you have a video where you said to not cut off leaves? To let them fall off naturally? Now I'm confused!
Ah sorry yes I see what you mean - in this case I cut them off as I was snipping off dead roots - less roots means more demand on the remaining roots if there are lots of leaves - and also the leaves I cut off were full of edema (excess water) so wouldn't have been functional to the plant - they were essentially dead as the cells were burst due to oversaturation. Hope that helps!
To everyone crying about repotting while in bloom, it is definitely ok for this species. At worse, the flowers drop, but it definitely won’t kill the plant. Phalaenopsis is a year round bloomer, as long as conditions are right. This is the reason you can find them so readily available in markets, and why they are so affordable. I do it anytime I get a new one from any store, all my orchids are better for it, and have never dropped their flowers. The reason most people get these plants and they die so fast is because of the coco coir plug…that mixed with over watering leads to rot, and a speedy death. Happy growing! 🪴🤍
Totally agree!! 😊😊

Sorry to hear about the greenhouse nightmare but lovely to see your new collection
Your extreme lack of any semblance of confidence throughout this entire video filled me with a great sadness.
This plant is well rooted in soil with lechuza. You only need to spray the tuber and it wakes up very quickly, takes root and begins to grow leaves. True, I always do this already in the warm season. I have a video of my Stephanie on my channel.
😊😊😊☀️☀️☀️
Oh man, what a heartbreaking disaster! 😞 But what a splendid replacement collection! Thanks for sharing them with us. So many interesting things! Three I think I'd like to add to my collection are Sulcorebutia rauschit, Astrophytum oobi, and Tylecodon buchholzianus. And also the mystery potato cactus. 🙂
What an incredible haul! My absolute favourite is the variegated Astrophytum! What a beauty!
I’m glad you were able to treat yourself! You found some awesome cacti & succulents to replenish your collection.
So good to see you! ❤ Wow they all look amazing 😍 definitely should treat yourself after the greenhouse accident 😢 I did that with all mine a few years ago 🙈 definitely learnt my lesson 😂
Oh no sorry about your car, I'm trying to watch you,but I keep getting drawn to Lucy. Wow so many different and unusual plants.l hope one day I'll be able to go with you to all the plant places.
I hope so too!!! 😊
She’s back !🎉🎉
Lovely to see you back again! Great video, beautiful specimens 💚🌵.I thoroughly agree that the BCSS shows and stalls are fascinating..good luck with your new garden too!
Cat!!!
Whats happened with your stephania erecta ? Love to know where it is.
I’ve just watched three videos on this topic including yours The other two soaked moss first Then put the moss along the length of the mesh joint with ties afterwards. Now I’m no expert but this might be easier
That's great advice actually I'll try that next time!
are these hard to add another to to extend it?
"Save"... lmao that orchid was in tree fern fiber. Literally the best and most expensive orchid medium on the market and you removed it all because you were "saving" it lol.
How many times do u water your orchids
Whenever the roots look grey rather than green 😊
@@emma.greenwood oh ok tysm
Thank you for sharing
I thought you were going to fix the cushion😂😂😂
🤣 hmmm good point...
How are the plants doing now? I hope they are ok after repotting 😊thank you for your videos
Touch wood they are surviving okay! I'll do a proper update video when there's something to tell, but for now all good! Thank you 😊
If you have a mouse pad handy you could use that to hold the cactus
That's a great idea!! I'll try that next time!
