Those are beautiful planes and like Karl I don’t think chip-breakers are needed. I’ve converted several Stanley style planes, including a Lie Neilson smoother, to work without a chip breaker. I fashioned small tee-nuts that clamp to the blade and engage the yoke for depth adjustment. I made special hinged brass caps to retain the blades in the planes and these are the factory thin blades. Much easier to sharpen than thick irons and function great. Trying to figure out how to make a video to share what I’ve learned with others. Given my lack of expertise with electronic devices, that’s turning into a struggle. Great video, love seeing such fine craftsmanship.
Ooh that is awesome! I would deff be interested in seeing a video ok that! I never heard of a bevel down plane without a chip breaker excpet for old wooden and infil planes
I believe his name is pronounced Hole-Tie, not Hole-Tee. 👍😊 But I suppose if you’re spending that much on a plane, you could call it whatever you want 😁
the craftsmanship and designs are incredible.
Amen to that!!!!

I thought he retired and no longer produces planes?
It didn't seem that way on his website :/ I hope he didnt! Lol
how many cups of coffee has this guy had? 😂 it‘s a verbal assault…
$11,550 dollars for a low angle smoother! Holy guacamole 🥑 Batman 🤯
Hahah yes sir! 🤣
The cost of that would pay for a lot of wood!
