- one month later, i'm finally in buildcrafting mode. today, we're talking about prismatic builds that don't need a class item. i have the typical knockout/consecration setup here for you, but also a setup that revolves around the use of thunderclap.

Me when a pebble appears propelling me into an enemies stomp radius. Meanwhile the hunter can flip around like flamin flipper bouncing off walls to rez me.
I'm really glad they made Warlock and Hunter stronger because that allows them to rez me better when this happens.

That's more on Bungie than Datto and the other content creators for screwing over Prismatic Titans so much.
There’s other stuff I’ve tried with titan, and there’s some stuff to the class. But in a lot of endgame it fails in comparison to the other mass amount of variety the other prismatic kits get. Wonder what bungie will do since they said they working on it

You'd think that a titan main like him would at least talk about hazardous propulsion... It's a damn good build.
Surprised one of them isn’t the Hazardous Propulsion build. It’s fun taking it to GMs and it does at least 1/3 to 1/2 health to a champion and hit it with a rocket launcher with the buff (35% with 6 stacks).
Pro tip who wants to use it: Use Facet of Command, makes Two-Tailed Fox basically have 2 rounds in a mag since the first rocket suppresses and then it auto-reloads your weapons.

@@Doge-lb8dq They only gave it a cd, so itll still reload, but go on a cooldown after. Prob not worth a fragment slot imo but it's there for funny builds like that.
@@medicfdumboimo even with the cooldown on it, I’m mainly using the fragment to nuke a champion one at a time anyways.
If anything, you can use Facet of Dominance instead and use Truth or you’re already good void legendary rocket you might have.
1 more pro tip. If you’re using a light super, your class ability counts as light damage, meaning the fragment doing bonus light damage to targets affected by darkness defuffs work.
This means 10% bonus dmg on a missile volley that already nukes. Best pairing I’ve found is to run drengr’s with rally barricade.

The problem that I think even bungie has realized at this point is that when titans are at max un-nerfed power we either AOE entire rooms (prismatic consecration spam, hoil and touch of thunder storm grenade when arc 3.0 came out, etc. etc.) or we do so much damage in a small AOE that what ever we hit gets/almost gets insta-killed (peregrine greaves, banner of war synthoceps/worm gods solo one phasing dungeon bosses, etc. etc.)
On top of that bungie also wants titans to be tanky, (and also slide for some reason but we’re not acknowledging that right now) so if titans live up the full fantasy we can crush whatever’s in front of us while taking a huge amount of damage straight to the face and keep going like nothing happened. Kind of a nightmare to design around. On the other hand when we do get nerfed titans are in a position where they’re struggling to stay relevant cause we don’t really bring anything else to the table. They actually nerfed bubble again and void over shields amount to the equivalent of paper mache in endgame content, and Titan doesn’t heal nearly as well as warlock can.
This is why I think instead of just focused on damage Bungie should reshift and give Titans Utility and Crowd Control. Make titans best at debuffing. Let titans set enemies up easier. Let titans control the battlefield so that the squishy Warlocks and Hunters can clean up in safetys

Something I realized is how well abeyant leap works for prismatic. Gives you woven mail to stack with void overshield from arsenal, follow up with 3 consecrations to suspended targets.
I use it with glacial quake to stack frost armor and woven mail, using buried bloodline to stack even more with over shield
The issue is that you can’t get your dodge back quick enough to sustain this forever. And not further building into consecration kneecaps the builds potential, especially since u don’t get dodges back during transcendence.
I really enjoy using consecration on prismatic with syntho. But I wish we had some more options that were as potent. Prismatic Titan needs some big changes in aspects and or exotics to make this happen.
I Also don’t mind synthos being the best overall melee exotic. But they need to give the specialty melee exotics that focus on one ability a big buff. I feel like they should edge out synthos in the respective abilities. That being said please don’t nerf synthos. Just carve a separate lane out for them.

The path is posible, and peregrine greaves are a great example. They arent the Jack of all trades that synthos is, but they do their specific job, which is nuking champions and minibosses, incredibly well. Sure, the playstyle could use some help in the form of DR, healing and activation requirement, but is a specialization: in the right situation is better than the all-rounder
I honestly find it rarer to see a titan with the exotic class item than without lmao
I have spirit of the assassin star eater. Being a 60 percent effective stylish executioner/golden gun hunter is about as good as titan gets.

Protip on Consecration:
If you slide off a raised surface and activate your melee in the air (and the platform beneath you is not *too* far from your feet while airborne) you should see both waves appear on the lower ground, thus reliably getting the ignition off.
I have made this change to stop my first wave shortstopping on the upper platform with much success!
Great builds, I've been enjoying Titan Prismatic's ability to THROW ALL THE THINGS. Diamond Lance, Shield Throw, Tangles. Not a great build by any means but just kind of fun and silly having so many throwables.
I really like Abeyant Leap with Drengr/Consecration and Tcrash to keep a lot more uptime/quick procs on woven mail and amplified as well as lots of suspending for crowd control
I like how you present the situations and limits of each build. I get tired of seeing "the BEST BUILD EVER NUKES EVERYTHING"
Both builds are essentially melee builds... titans just can't escape this melee pit bungie thrown them in and keep digging deeper while simultaneously throwing mud down that same hole. Yes I'm upset that knockout can't be refreshed, won't count as charged melee in future update and uses just 2 fragment slot
you guys are the melee class, your are a specialist where the other classes are generalists, meaning you guys have the best melee versatility while the other classes can do melee, but normally only 1 or 2 melee builds, if you want to be a generalist, play the generalist classes, theres a reason Titans seem to be all about melee but hunters and warlocks don't seem to be all about 1 thing, that is by design, they are by design meant to be jack of all trades master of none, yes there are builds that make them masters, but with those 2 classes you HAVE to build into it, otherwise it WILL suck, titans, yall can just throw on anything and have a melee build, hunters? HAVE to use combination blow, HAVE to use liars handshake, HAVE to use stylish executioner, hunters don't have a choice, if they want to go melee, that is there option, hunters have 0 melee build variety, Titans have plenty of melee builds, that is what they specialize in
@@flamingscar5263 That's exactly the complaint. We want more than melee builds. Why should 1 of the 3 classes in the game be shoehorned into a restrictive build style when the other 2 classes have great build versatility? Titans SHOULD have to build into melee to make it powerful, and SHOULD have the ability to build into other things to roughly the same extent the other classes can. The type of content you can be effective in should not be even somewhat dependent on whether you play Hunter, Titan, or Warlock. This is especially true when you consider most of the playerbase primarily plays on one character.

Nicely done. Glad to see I wasn’t crazy when I went point-contact (the exotic) in my first playthrough on the campaign into prismatic. Felt very fun with my team
I actually run an abeyant leap variation of the consecration build, it trades the power and self-healing of synthos and knockout for the extra protection of on-demand (and full 10 sec duration) woven mail and extra utility with suspends from drengr's lash, i ran it with a group in the glassway GM several times with great success since consecration can still dole out some ridiculous damage the more the enemies are bunched up for multiple ignites per melee
Even if the video was about not having an exotic class item. I got a exotic mark with Abyent and Point contact brace. It adds jolt to your conecrations. That shit slaps so harf

@CBeavr I mean even in gms and raids woven mail isn't need if you have tier 10 resilience. Since it doesn't apply a heal
@@drago99jf having tier 10 "residence" is the very *baseline* of what you should have in a GM, sure it "isn't need" to have woven mail, but it sure as shit is more comfortable than not having it (also you should have recuperation on your leg mods for healing on orb pickup)

I've been using pretty much the exact same thunderclap build since the DLC launch and I honestly don't think I've ever had more fun :)
I wanna believe I really do, but everyday I stray further from the light to the dress with 4 souls. 😂
Can recommend Second Chance with prismatic titan, it's pretty fun and you can spam shield throw a lot while transcendent
Another one I'd highly recommend is Abeyant Leap. I honestly like it a ton more than a class item with Abeyant on it because of the Woven Mail on suspends. Especially because your Transcendent Grenade suspends too so woven mail is basically up almost permanently
I stopped watching build videos bc all they are now is 1/64 class item that I don’t have or care to farm for so I appreciate this!
With consecration I like to use the call with the fragment that gives unraveling rounds on melee kills. Makes getting dark transcendence super easy

Can't wait for that potential Titan rework cause god, am I getting bored of all the melee focused builds. Luv me Titan, don't get me wrong. I've mained them since Sunbreakers were introduced in D1 but the lack of variety has me maining a Warlock now.
Titan has non-melee builds, good ones at that (at least when it comes to what you can get done with aspects+fragments). I'd say the biggest thing holding Titan back is exotics, as they admittedly don't have much that lets them directly play into their good non-melee capabilities.
I'd also say that Prismatic Titan could do with a better all-round aspect. I personally think Roaring Flames could easily fit into the kit and be super desirable (as it would likely lose its solar only restriction). Frankly, the only Prismatic subclass that I think doesn't need anything, is Warlock.
On skullfort use the finisher mod that replenishes your melee. As long as you got a few armor charges you can use it to reset your melee if you whiff!

Honesrly going to go with a melee set up running blade/twilight and peregrine. Its fun, it does fat damage, infinite melees on big ulyellow bar enemies (minus boss usage)
Skullfort has pretty much been glued to my face for the last several years. That prismatic build pretty much carried me through the Legend campaign. (The one real difference is i used thruster and glacier nade.) With this setup you have so many "get out of jail free" cards. I renamed my melee button to "the problem solver" because i just push it and suddenly everything is fine. Either all the threats are dead, or it killed an add and now im back to full health. Thruster with the orb pickup mod is also great. If shit ever hits the fan when im knee deep in the danger, i push that button and suddenly my health is full.
Poor titans . Hay Datto, you should check out an Immost Light build with Caster Frame/Perfect Fifth Ergo Sum. it goes hard.

Skullfort is the new throwing hammer for dealing with add clear so weapons can focus on DPS and rock that double special without worrying about ammo economy.
Hoping we get a new exotic class item that can combine skullfort and second chance exotic for infinite weakening claps and just go crazy 😂
I was actually trying out a consacration build with a point contact cannon brace//assassin cowl class item. It feels pretty good NGL and it even takes care of all champions subtype
Let me take a while guess , consecration+knockout with frenzied blade , yep right on the money
yall gotta be sleeping on hazardous propulsion with thruster, shield throw, and twilight arsenal, easily the best range titan has ever been able to have. Shines in high level stuff like GMs where you can’t spawn trap as well, the rockets come out wildly fast and do great damage on everything. Its main weakness is really just needing some help to generate dark energy for Transcendence.
I tried this build but can't keep the rocket loop going, like I keep having to reload, not sure what I'm doing wrong
How is it slept on when it’s probably the second most popular build after consecration spam? And most titans are running twilight arsenal
For Dark energy, good roll of The Call will do the trick and benefit from the buff to boot!
I’m assuming you mean you aren’t loading missiles fast enough. It’s something not a lot of RUclips build vids mention.
The best primary weapon I’ve found are 4 round pulses, or any automatic weapons. Some stand outs are any 4 round burst(Blast furnace, Belisarius, etc), Outbreak, Revision Zero(4 round burst), and grav lance. I’ve found SMGs to not be very good, alongside trace rifles and HMGs. Surprisingly, 180 hand-canons are solid. The fastest loading weapon is by far a rocket sidearm when hitting crits, especially buried bloodline.
When using these weapons, it should guarantee a full volley every time you cast your class ability on tier 10 resil
I've been loving Lorely Splendor with Prismatic. The sunspot buffs your solar super and you can throw 9 hammers vs the usual 5 or 6.
i've been hoping for something like this even though i'm not a titan main 😭 manifesting a "is microcosm actually good or is it just novel" video next
Microcosm is pretty excellent. For The Witness, if you use your super before each DPS and have 2X Kinetic Surge, you can routinely deal 5.5-6mil damage.

Before I unlocked the exotic class item on Titan, I found myself really enjoying Drengr's Lash and Knockout with Abeyant Leap.
Specifically with Thruster instead of Barricade.
Put on a shackle grenade and you will have Woven Mail 80-90% of the time, and all the non-boss enemies are too busy trying to contact the mods to shoot at you anyway.
It's so much fun to dodge out of a cluster of red bar enemies, then wind up a big Thunderclap and just decimate them all XD
I feel Drengr's Lash is highly slept on IMO since it gives you a pocket shutdown tool that lets you tell that Yellow Bar miniboss to take a seat, or to suspend a group of enemies from a safe distance before you move in on them. (If anything I feel like Knockout is kinda bait since that's what locking you into being so melee focused making you lose out on more utility and flexibility.)
It covers those exact situations you mentioned where you get in a bad spot and need to bail yourself out especially if you run Rally Barricade so you have a short cooldown.
Yeah I do not like either consecration or thunderclap. Not worth playing it and especially if I don't enjoy it.
I love Hazardous Propulsion though, so that's good. New void super is fun. Also love having a nice mix of abilities with Prismatic. Fun to play on Thruster again.
I recommend Skullfort with triple Heavy Handed and Still Hunt, infinite Golden Gun shots with how many orbs you generate

Had a consecration build was bored. Hazardous purp is fun but now im still prismatic but with the exotic stasis beam gun with the catalyst. The ice gauntlet exotics with it. Very fun freeze everything and i use my super just for my gun. Tons of shield from the stuff i pick up and the gernade void shield for those sticky situations.
As others have said, Hazardous Propulsion could easily fit in here as well. So many weapons get buffed by HP, including Rocket Sidearms, Buried Bloodline, Grand Overture, Eyes of Tomorrow... etc. Tons of options. Add in a Field Prep-Bipod Semiotician and you have a HUGE bit of DPS.
Yeah, even Deathbringer gets buffed! Kinda neat.
Faith-Keeper from echoes gets ALH and Bipod, tracking rockets, only has 2 less rockets that siemotician with field prep, and surge stacks with Buried Bloodline. Just need a good darkness weapon for transcendence energy
I'm a PCCB enjoyer, but that Gilded-Daft-Punk-looking Titan armour is pretty slick
Ok the shackle grenade with that arc melee is actually such a cool pairing. I haven't started titan campaign yet but that will definitely end up being what I choose.
That's actually the starting build for Prismatic Titan funnily enough.
Okay, so, for the Thunderclap build, I workshopped my own fragment setup (the aspects are the same). I went Courage, Sacrifice, Protection, Bravery, and Purpose.
-Knockout giver you Amplified, so I add Galvanic Armor as well, plus, when you become amplified, Sacrifice will help with darkness transcendence.
-I specifically choose Bravery cause I crafted a "The Call" rocket sidearm with Desperate Measures. A melee will proc D.M. and Bravery, so it does more damage AND unravels targets, making follow-up melees stronger cause of Courage. The Call with Unravel and Diamond Lance make the darkness meter SHOOT up, and Thunderclap plus whatever good energy weapon you have does the rest
- Mod out to your discretion. Happy hunting, Guardians!
Seen some solo gm content creators saying that traditional syntho are still more viable for quicker clears than the exotic HOIL option
I run TC with knock out, and diamond lance, pair that with red death and the call work pretty good for me most activities. Still feel the difference from the other classes though

If you haven’t gotten harzardous propulsion yet, PLEASE do. It’ll be hard to take off once you get it setup. Grab outbreak or blast furnace and spam your spending barricade and rockets like it’s no one’s business. It’s my favorite build in the game rn
These builds are good. But super situational. And require team mates cordination. Trying to LFG with Blueberries on an aggressive consecration build in a GM is utterly impossible :(

Rocket chest w knockout + drengrs on thruster. Arc grenade w facet of awakening, shield throw for radiant + knockout
Weapons: The call + Vex Mytho or Rev 0 + Indebted then pick your rocket. Hot swap cuirass t crash and cook everything

Idk if it’s a bug or something but I haven’t been able to get knockout to trigger when using consecration for some reason
Imo for the thunderclap build glacier grenade is significantly better for dmg and utility over shackle

The only thing keeping me from shelving prismatic titan forever is the fact that Ergo Sum is in the energy slot and works with Stronghold. I wouldn’t touch this subclass with a 10 foot pole otherwise.
ikr, I've been debating just going back to BoW Strand, but the transcendence boost for Ergo Sum and the ammo gen from the catalyst is too nice to pass up.

At least the arc melee one was unique. Consecration is strong but so one dimensional.
I really think Titans could be crazy good with Fusion Grenades. That with the fusion nade exotic, or even frenzied blade aspect with HOIL class item could be really nice. They just gave a bad combination of stuff

I know prismatic Titan is strugglin when my first thought of a build on day 1 (skullfort thunderclap) is one of the two builds datto makes. Also after using it a while it’s a pretty shit build since skullfort is still bugged where some conditions negate the refund melee.
For example if you hit a stasis crystal and the explosion of it kills something, sometimes it doesn’t count, if you melee the weirdo enemies in each race, exploder shanks, fanatics, cursed thrall, etc it won’t refund melee most of the time. Sometimes if you melee a big group and kill like 10, if one of those 10 was a cursed thrall or other race equivalent it negates the melee refund altogether. If you melee charge and any knock up/back ability hits you it instantly forces you to release the melee. There are also some enemies that just don’t give melee refunds intermittently, like red bar shanks sometimes just don’t count and now ur down a melee charge.
Also if he didn’t mention it, there is an armor mod that gives you armor charge upon pickin up an orb, and then another mod that gives you melee energy on finisher with 2 armor charges which imo makes it a lot better since you can lose ur melee charge to bullshit all the time
God I just want a prismatic build that doesn’t involve consecration but it’s the only powerful thing on Titan rn 😞

Going for the throat on this one..if Prismatic Titans are in a good state then why did you switch off to another class during Salvations Edge Contest mode? Were you only able to touch the tip... of that Bladefury super against the Witness?
They’re in a good state, they just need more build diversity. People swapped because if you made it to the final encounter, chances are that you’re not an idiot and are going to use the one thing in the game which was overtuned especially for the one encounter. This doesn’t make titans bad or hunters better, it just means that there was one nuanced place in which hunters dominated. Imagine if the witness didn’t have a crit spot, this would be different. Still hunt hunter builds are less effective than others outside of a raid encounter with precision dps and so is actually a niche. And so the niche fulfilled a specific nuance. Likely titans will be able to out dps all 3 classes (with the right class item role) all while keeping their insane nuetral game, (assuming wild hunt gets nerfed).
@fieryflame6676 Hunters have Still Hunt and Warlocks have Euphony, there is not a weapon currently that synergizes with the class.
Aside from more buildcrafting options we need weapon profiencies bonuses for each class and a new heavy weapon like a multi-shot, slower firing rate, machine gun such as Autocannon sub-family.
@@josh60088 Still hunt will get nerfed, and imo euphany isn't that good technically. Star eaters+eternal warrior on your exotic class item outmaches their dps (since u can run x4 surge and a x3 surge for two elements or holsters). You also don't need to even pickup orbs (or have armor mods setup) to get the 30 SECOND LONG x4 surge for ease of use. Titans have good dps, probably the best dps on targets without crits. If you want more ease of use, the rocket chestplate does solid dps itself and also buffs wolfpacks aswell as rockets with 10% more damage than surges ever would. Using this logic you can also use another element type from your rocket with max surges.
I think what you're asking for is a brain dead weapon comparable to euphany and still hunt that uses special ammo instead of heavy, you don't have this however, the heavy damage increase is close enough to make up for this if you pair with something like izi, cloudstrike or still hunt. (After still hunt nerf this will be the case)
@fieryflame6676 Why does anything need to be nerfed? Let Hunters have their power fantasy..this logic is ridiculous..nerf one thing so it doesn't outshadow other dps options for the rest of the other classes.
Star eaters+eternal warrior is a rng specific situation, unless you grinded and don't have it then players are out of luck. Having a weapon with multiple barrels doesn't make it brain dead, that's what cerberus+1 is, it's unique..not everything needs to be precision to do damage.
Hazardous Propulsion is prolly the only saving grace for Titans but there is not a weapon to pair with it that is on the same field as Celestial Nighthawk is for Still Hunters. It's also for very specific situations and if it were then folks like Datto wouldn't have needed to switch off Titan during Contest mode.

@@josh60088 I agree with the sentiment and using wild hunt in damage rotations on the witness is the most fun i've had gameplay wise in ages. But overall wild hunt is probably too effective at what it does, and for the sake of power creep and the health of the game I can see why they would change it. It's easier to nerf one thing than bring everything up to that standard, so it is logical. The reason there is nothing on the level of wild hunt dps is because there shouldn't be, one celestial shot of it deals 2.5x times more than the damage of an izi shot, this is insane power creep. Titans are much better than hunters at dealing with targets with no crits due to their exotic chest, class item and rockets, and so also having a precision damage option on around the same level as hunter's will be (after nerf hopefully) is justified imo. Also the reason you didn't see as many warlocks go hunter in day one, is probably because of how broken their healing nades are (especially with the helmet).

Has Datto forgotten that Monte Carlo exists? That makes it a lot easier to use Point Contact as your Exotic since your Monte Carlo is helping you keep your melee energy up, plus it's already good Exotic weapon damage is increased by your melee kills anyway.

The only Hunter builds I’ve seen most people use is Gyrfalcon’s and Liar’s Handshake.
I love seeing new Datto content and I'm definitely on the side of "perennially optimistic" Destiny players but when even Datto can't build something interesting or unique with Prismatic, what hope do the rest of us have?
