Neither of these iGPUs are not meant for gaming at all, they’re meant for basic office PC use which is what 95% of CPUs are used for. Schools and businesses buy basic desktops from Lenovo and Dell by the truckload for answering emails and spreadsheets. Any larger iGPU would be wasted for 95% of people, and a massive waste of precious silicon die space driving up cost. Who would pay $800 for a CPU with a “powerful” iGPU that realistically is equivalent to a $250 dGPU? Just get a $300 CPU and $500 dGPU, both of which can be upgraded independently. There’s no point to adding a much larger iGPU even if they wanted, even if cost is not a concern, it’s limited by system memory bandwidth. The only way to get better performance would be to do what Apple has done and use much closer, wider memory bus. The system memory is sitting on the same substrate as the CPU. But then you’re not making a socketed CPU, and the CPU alone will cost $700 alone, and you have no upgradability.
