Having watched you recent video with the Pavoslims you were shooting I think at ISO400 and 1/25s this seemed strange but on this video you are at ISO1000 and 1/800th is their any logic to these settings, I would have thought outdoors where she was moving a faster shutter speed would have been preferable and a posed indoor set a slower would have been fine with lower ISO. Also what power output were the lights as a 500 watt light seemed a bit excessive given the 150watt was, on one occassion when the power output was shown, at 36% . It would help in these videos to show the lights output so if we are considering buying them what sort of power to aim for.

im not really sure i understand your question it feels like there are 5 or more... :) would showing you power really solve all your issues here to "decide"? not being rhetorical. serious question. because without knowing ambient, or light modifiers, strength of the scrims, distance of the light from the subject etc - this goes from a photoshoot and seeing whats possible to a fuill blown technical breakdown of every aspect in the room. modifiers, scrim, grids, etc can cut lighting down 2-3 stops of power alone. maybe im missing the obvious in your question - i apologize if i am

Why are you so high in iso with a 500w light and a f1.2 lens ?

because im in the middle of working and producing a video in real time. so... to your point... youre not wrong... i could have come off ISO 2-3 stops. thanks for pointing that out. would have totally changed the look of the image and what im teaching you guys.

Fine work, artistically. I wonder about the GuideNumber (Gn) of these lights.
Wild-assed guess: taking the exposure data from the shot at 2:10 in the video, you would set your top on-camera speedlight about 7 EV under full power (1/64).
Nerdy: ISO 1,000 with 1/250 sec and f/2.8 (EV 11 at ISO 1,000 =~= LV 8) looks far from powerful. And I hasten to admit that ISO 1,600 with our modern digital cameras is not a problem at all, but 2.8? Really? The default reflector has 55 degrees angle but for a 35mm lens we need about 65 degrees.
Imagine a Gn 34 (meters = Gn 112 feet) speedlight (ISO 100, zoomed to 35mm full frame angle). That will be ~3 times higher at ISO 1,000: 3*34m=102m. At 3m (~10 ft) you then get f/(102m/3m) =~= f/32 - 7 EV above f/2.8.
Speedlight and strobe manufacturers play us with their specifications. As photographers, we need GuideNumber (Gn, expressed in meters or feet) as it informs about exposure.
For Gn, the historical de facto market standard is ISO 100, for a (diagonal) lens angle of a 35mm lens of 35mm format. But then we get the Holy Cow [1] brand specifying at 200mm focal length flash angle, or 105mm, and some go to ISO 200.
And Watt.seconds (like kilo.Watt.hours) specify consumption of electrical energy and say little about light output.
Profoto, with flash tube in reflector, without modifier puts out about 35mm lens coverage. Profoto occasionally specify Gn.
While, formally, W.s do not indicate light output, we can compare top Canon and Nikon on camera speedlights with 75 W.s and other brands' top models are more in the 50 W.s ballpark (less than 0.5 EV less).
I hasten to add that we (almost) never shoot our 1,200 W.s packs at full power, certainly not into one head [2].
    4 whole stops below full power, 1,200 W.s equals 75 W.s.
Working with a bunch of 75 W.s speedlights, I can attest to that we need much less, today.
The 1,200 was needed, and often insufficient, with large format - at 8"*10" negative format,
[1] the two character Chinese name of one popular brand translate as "god ox" or "holy cow".
[2] there's an older video on line of McNally shooting a bedtime story in a child's 2nd floor bedroom, at daytime (legal working hours for child actors), where they build a scaffold outdoors with 4* 2,400 packs for 9.600 Ws in order to mimic full moon light. Wow. The equivalent of 128 speedlights of 75 W.s

Alexa… hit like 50x! Absolutely beautiful and got my first Wescott Led light, Octa s and backpack set. Can’t wait to use it as I just got it about a week ago or so. I have a wedding in a Church in February and I wanna be able to just dim the lights down some yet create some beautiful light on my couple really fast to get some amazing portraits before we head off to their reception venue for more portraits etc. I love the idea of having what you see is what you get when it comes to wanting to work quickly.

Thank you for showing use the minor details in lighting as it really does make a huge difference if you see the two images together, one being OK and the other one over the top. I see better defined hair, lighting on the face and dress, the background is there instead of more or less black. There is more detail in the crystal next to her that adds to the scene without taking your eye off of her face. I like the top fade of light from her face down her dress that the light from the ceiling provides. Have a light that you can dial in the color temperature to match surroundings light is a lot easier than fooling around with gels like we used to have to do. You sure did bring a lot of equipment with you too. Did you do a bunch of other images?

Sal, I liked the 2nd "stuuuupid good" horizontal shot with the multiple lights to the right side. 🤣 I guess that is one advantage of shooting constant light is the ability to use high shutter speeds without high flash sync. I am dying to know what the TNN5 stands for on your T-Shirt?
