Wow. I was looking for videos on the Cabo Rico 38 and this one popped up and I started watching. After a couple minutes I realized this was in Charleston. I went to college there at The Citadel, was stationed on two Navy ships there, and took an early retirement from the city police department. All in all I lived there for 24 years. I live around the world and am in Bangkok now, but when I retire for good and start cruising, Charleston will be the port I call home.
I do too! Oiled teak has a golden glow to it while still being mat finished. I just find it too expensive to constantly oil it as the first rain or sail will wash all the oil out of the wood. Varnish seems to hold its finish a lot longer, though it is a bit darker in color.
Looks to be a nice deep water cruiser. I would say your having a great time bumming around Charleston. That's cheating on bread making. If you don't learn is will be tough after the first week on open water. If you were digging clams I think you hit the mother load. That's a big ball of something.
Beautiful Dress, with an even MORE beautiful girl In it. She has such perfect, beautiful hands. I love when when she pops out of the hatch in the morning with your tea and love in her eyes. Damn, Herby, You Got It MADE in the Shade!
Kudos to your friends for thinking of others and being of service!!! It's good to see sailors adopt this beautiful posture! I feel in the end we're here to help each other. HEY..I celebrated my 40th on Foley Beach it was the first time I ever surfed and even met a guy with his lower leg eaten by a shark. Great sloooooow moooooo shot on the bird taking off. I'm curious how long you had to wait for that shot?! BTW...do your friends have their own sailing channel?
An old tropical sun trick for yacht varnish work is to prep and varnish a few coats. Then to over coat with flat white paint, oil base in the old days. The white paint keeps the sun off the varnish , is easily touched up, and the varnish keeps the white paint out of the wood grain so if you want to get back to a 'yacht' finish you just sand off the white paint and revive the varnish. Try it on one bit , you might like it I think it would go with your style of boat. Oh the epoxy coating thing is over rated, not easily touched up and no breathing of the wood if you believe in that sort of think. Cheers Warren.
Obviously, if I'm using varnish and not polyurethane, then I probably fall into the category of those nuts who won't put plastic on their wood. I like the white paint idea for when we leave it unattended for a long time!
I use Cetol on my boat. Three coats and it looks great and will last in the PNW for a couple of years. Maybe not so much down in land of Hot sun, mosquitoes, no-seeums, snakes and alligators.
@02:14-02:47 Oh, I love Bubble Gum! Store-bought bread is good -- well, most, though not white/wheat bread. But you don't get the extra joy of making & baking.
That's so cool you went to the Gibbs Museum. There is some of my Great Great Grandfathers work on display there. I t was so great meeting you guys. Thanks for using us in your vlog. We will share it in hopes of getting you some more followers for you. By the way, we officially closed yesterday at 5PM. Time to set sail.
Actually, your bed head doesn’t look lol that bad. Herbie, how come you shave with that type of razor? It would make me nervous because I shave so quickly with the dollar shave club razor and that blade you have could do some damage if you’re not careful. Although, when my barber does it, it’s one hell of a shave!!
I go a while without shaving and then this blade takes it all off in one swipe. Also, the blades were really cheap. I bought 1000 blades for $20 about 5 years ago. I'm not even halfway through!
Is that RUclips or something you tried in post? Its too bad it makes the video wonkey looking but it seems your vid weren't too bad with the shaking. Keep up the great work and disregard comments like mine ha ha. Cheers.
Me neither. I especially do not like some of the religions that are being exported to us here in the US. It is interesting that Christianity came first to the areas we are heading to before it actually came to North America. So actually, it would not be exporting. We were pretty much the last to receive the Gospel in this country. I am glad we both agree that we must all do our part to spread the love of God and help those in need....even if they do not accept our message of hope. God bless you Lk M and I hope we have the chance to fellowship together down the line. Also, thank you for supporting Herb and Maddie, they are such an awesome couple.
All religions are the same - they bash the other guy while pretending theirs is the only way to go. What all religious people have in common is the constant sales pitch and self promotion. Just once I'd like to hear religious people ACT in their beliefs instead of talk talk talk about them.

I can understand why! It is a magical little town. We definitely plan on returning on our way back up the US coast in a couple of years!
I love teak wood but I always preferred teak oil instead of varnish

I plan on bleaching the rub rail before varnishing it to get it as blonde in finish as possible :)
Another nice day out enjoy enjoy .
Loved it!

Nice job on the Monitor install! I like their Porta-bote.
Very cool installation. I've limited to finding a bird's nest from time to time. Very enjoyable video. Thank you!
Loved the historic Star Trek models 😂
Nice setup! Looks pretty solid for sure! Always loved my vane on the first boat.... still gotta find one for the new boat....
I really liked this Video!!! You guys are awesome!!!

Sean Flanagan + That's a matter of opinion and mine is NO BREAD IS GOOD BREAD! But I get what you're saying about white and wheat. Ü

Sun screen comes to mind ha ha. Nice vid guys but lose the stabilization.
I agree with that. It did weird things...never again.

How do you type a wolf whistle(?), lady you look great in red!
Not big on exported religion
?
Rigging Doctor the other people talked about their involvement exporting religion to Cuba
Oh I'm pretty sure they're just doing mission work through their church but I may have understood it wrong
