That was incredible!!! I enjoyed how you repaired the compass!!! You checked the compass with a model that my dad used in the 1920’s!!! Thanks for the video and another display of your incredible skills!!! Bravo!!
I recently purchased a similar old BS knife that needed a bit of TLC, but it had no compass. I did not do a disassembly, but did clean and sharpen the instruments that came with it, the blade, an awl, a can opener, and the pop bottle opener with flat blade screw driver, as well as the bolsters and scales. It was then oiled lightly, and stored in an old style pipe tobacco tin, with fishing kit and fire start kit. Now stored in my SUV glove box in case I ever need it!
not sure if i have asked already, but what does the soda do when cleaning the metal-parts? (nice restauration! didn't expect the compass being "in air" - i only know those "hovering" in mineral oil)
Can you please help me with my grandfather’s WWII Shrade/Cutco switchblade?…I’m not looking for restoration, I’m looking for rebirth…if that’s not too difficult.

As an Eagle Scout, I greatly appreciate the love and care you put into restoring this classic Scout pocketknife!
These old compass Scouts are increasingly rare, and even scarcer with a working compass. Well done.
I've seen a lot of different Boy Scout knives but not like this one with the compass in it. Great job looks like a new one
FROM A FORMER SCOUT…OUTSTANDING RESTORATION! 👍

GREAT RESULTS...I WASN'T SURE WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO WITH THAT COMPASS!!!

Had one years ago,, you definitely don’t disappoint with your attention to detail!! Great job
Thanks!
What do you use for the pins that holds the knife together? I have a knife similar to this that a friend has asked me to restore.
Same question. Brass?
As a form Boy Scout myself I have to hand it to you. Fine work Sir. I never owned this model of knife. I don't think.🤔 I sure would though.
The compass was a surprise! Thought a Boy Scout metal was there. RWB
If I was a scoutmaster I would make sure there was a badge for restoration and award it to you
Thank you)
not sure if i have asked already, but what does the soda do when cleaning the metal-parts?
(nice restauration! didn't expect the compass being "in air" - i only know those "hovering" in mineral oil)
Thank you! Soda neutralizes acid (vinegar).
@@ReXtorer oh. didn't think of the vinegar... thanks :)
Lovely work. What do you do with the pieces you restore? Sell them?
👍👍
Гарний нiж
What brand is that. Very cool knife
So sad that you dont do this for CUSTOMERS, lol. I know i'd use it!
The vinegar will work better taking the rest off if you heat it up
I found one of those in my backyard with a metal detector
What is that solution you pour on the pins that fizzles? Is it acid? What type?
Does that restorer tenique work on polymer lenses? But super work on this scout basic trouper!
I carried this same knife and so did my late best friend.
Do you ever make these restored pieces available for purchase ?
Thanks 🙂
👍🙌
🙋👍👏💪
“It’s perfect”
Good work but you can't have a pocket knife with the point sticking out when the blade is folded in.
....with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time....
Nice!!! I don't think anyone else caught this.
Very nice restoration though too many steps were used, and too many pairs of gloves.
The knife was going south until Rextorer gave it a new direction!

Can you please help me with my grandfather’s WWII Shrade/Cutco switchblade?…I’m not looking for restoration, I’m looking for rebirth…if that’s not too difficult.
Dope AF results, @ReXtorer!
read my mind at the end. 🎉
What is that little blade for? I've never seen one like it, before.
It's to open watch backs.
Why would that be on scout pocket knife?
I did a search for "watch back remover," and saw a very similar one. Interesting.
Is it not a can opener?
Jeremy: thx
Why are you annealing the rivet?
👍👍👍👍!!!🖐,🇺🇦
Is this a Boy Scout knife or a knife for someone named Scout?🤔
NO
Its a scout knife

How compas will work on metal knife? 😂
Stop wasting vinegar and use a wire wheel
Every single "Boy Scout" knife I've ever owned has been stolen!
By people who were never Scouts! And certainly never earned the right to carry one!
⚜️🏕️
Gorgeous scout. Do you know what year it is?
Disregard, found your description.
Great work.
I “wandered where you were going” with the brass tin at the end….sorry. 🫣
Great job!
