HAIR TRANSFORMATION | Dyeing My Hair from Dark Brown to Medium/Light Brown

*Pleaaaase do your research before you attempt dyeing your hair!*
This is the process I used for my hair that is 1) dark brown and 2) has already been dyed with a box dye.

Our Process:
1. Set up everything in a well-ventilated room (a bathroom preferably). Turn on the vent and open up any windows, if you can, to let out the fumes.
2. Whoever is dyeing your hair should put on the rubber gloves and start mixing the hair color and creme developer - a 1:1 ratio in a bowl. Mix together and make sure it looks slightly runny and not too thick (refer to 2:31 in the video).
3. Separate the hair in 4 sections (two up front and two in the back) then separate each of those in two from top to bottom.
4. Start applying the dye 1 inch from the root to prevent hot roots (when the roots are too warm compared to the ends).
5. One you cover your whole head, go back and color the roots.
6. Put your hair in a bun and put a plastic bag (or a cap) over your head to help the color develop. Let it sit for at least 25 min. Once the time is up, if you think it needs more time then add 5 more min. 30 min is usually the amount of time you want it to sit in total.
7. After the time is up, rinse your hair until the water runs clear.
8. Shampoo your hair twice.
9. (optional) Dry your hair to see the results!
Tips:
-Keep your brush saturated at all times. Don't let it get dry
-Work fast
-Do small sections at a time to ensure full saturation
-Color the roots last

What is the color you used before? I’ve been looking for that perfect dark brown 😢

I'm sorry but I can't remember 😭 I just know it was a super light brown box dye from target! It only lifted my hair a shade or two - so it wasn't crazy noticeable. And if your hair is very dark like my natural hair color then doing a very light brown dye or a dark blonde would probably get you to a nice dark brown shade! (But don't take my word for it since I barely knew what I was doing lol just make sure you do your research)
