Oh, this is gonna be a nightmare for me 😂. Backup camera, subwoofer (factory), DVD player, steering wheel controls, the list goes on. I'd much rather pay someone than deal with all them wires.
LMAO, the guy helping you has the head band led. I can not do anything without mine on my head now a days. Eye sight is going downhill at an alarming rate.
I am sorry, where did you get this diagram/ scheme in 5:22? I am trying to montage the original radio in my Tahoe 2007, just bought used radio and just want to check out does it even work. I do not know where which wire goes in and what is it for and all those ports.
I'm having a problem with my 2012 chevy Surburban, my new DVD Stereo player is hooked up. But my 2nd and 3rd row tvs aren't working or turning on. So you have any clue
This was very informative. I am not personally installing this radio but today itll be installed. I wanted to get a glimpse into what it would take for some one to get into a similar vehicle model as mine. Follow up video on how it's working or how you like it?
Thanks for watching it all the way through!! I haven't had time to mess with it much since putting it in. In all honestly learning how to use the unit itself is a process that is best learned by hands on experience. As a head unit it works amazingly, super high quality and very nice to have navigation via Android Auto on the car instead of a phone. As for integrated vehicle controls, that video will happen at some point when I find the time to troubleshoot the issues.
@@DartBProductions So far both antenna adapter from different wire harness is the same, guess am just going to cut it and cut the antenna adapter also to tie it together. 🤔
@@edgarh252 Uh oh, I would hope not... Like I said I may not remember correctly but I think I remember when I first tested it that it did boot up without the car actually running. I can call my dad and ask him to check if you like
Dart B Productions It’s alright and the only reason I could think the guy did that Is because I have a rear tv like this suv and it’s like that as well so he probably didn’t test it and just connected it to existing one.
@@DartBProductions it's like that because the factory stereo is turned on thru the serial data bus. Usually an aftermarket stereo has no input for that. Since their made for different manufacture's. Aftermarket stereo 's are looking for a power with key

I'm having a hard time getting enough clearance in back of my Excelon. I pulled my factory harness down by the gas pedal and connected everything down there, then ran stuff back up to keep the radio din cleared out, but it still isn't enough.

Aww the joys of youth.
It is a joy!!
Great video love the talking it’s informative … keep going 💯
I appreciate that!!
Holly crap, harder than i thought
It's not too difficult but you do need to be very thorough and invest a LOT of time. This was an entire weekend's worth of work.
@@DartBProductions that’s a lot i did it in less than 2 hours
Make it easier on yourself. The harness from the kenwood, cut all the wires to the same length. Could also just use butt connectors

Yeah it was quite a job even without the factory sub, dvd, and camera. Whatever you're comfortable with!!

The diagram came with the harness adapter that I bought
Ok, thanks
I salute to ya. I have the Kenwood DDx6906s. No aux port sucks. Great detailed video tho.
Definitely an interesting challenge to overcome haha. Thanks man!!!

My antenna adapter won't fit the 2013 Chevy Tahoe LTZ that came with the wire harness?
I have a navigation factory radio
Not sure what could have happened there, maybe a mistake somewhere along the line?

Does your stereo turn on when in “Accessory
mode” ? My stereo doesn’t only when put into the “On” position.
I don't remember but I believe that it did... Could be wrong though.
Dart B Productions damn I literally went to a shop and I believe they wired it wrong

One question, still got the old chime right?
It's been a while since I did this but I believe all the electronic sound effects changed

I personally use Crutchfield.com for all radio needs, they will set you up with everything you need
Where did you get the adapter for the radio antenna?
I think it came bundled with the kit we got but I'm honestly not sure
Did you end up resolving the SWC issue?
Yes! - the problem was with the flash that I put on the iDatalink Maestro unit. I took the unit out and reflashed it and all was well!!
I'm having a hard time getting enough clearance in back of my Excelon. I pulled my factory harness down by the gas pedal and connected everything down there, then ran stuff back up to keep the radio din cleared out, but it still isn't enough.
Clearance is really tough back there, it's been so long since I was back there I don't know how much help I could give you other than keep at it
Does the rear dvd work and controls work?
Our rear DVD system is custom installed so I do not know how this unit would work with a factory system.
Where did you get the Aux port kit?
My dad found it somewhere on amazon
New camera (in the intro)?
Ahaha you noticed. Not quite brand new but I normally only use it for cinematic stuff because it's bigger and battery doesn't last as long.
Ahh, looks good!
Thanks my dude!
How many inch the screen?
For steering wheel controls YOU NEED AN AXXESS AXSWC-1 module
No need to disconnect battery it’s just a waste of time.
yeah man whats up with the erratic jerky one hand vid production get a tri pod please

Gps and backup camera works or no?
GPS works when hooked up to a phone, we dont have a backup camera but unless I'm mistaken I think the head unit has wiring for one
Where can I get the aux and usb thing?
We found them on Amazon
I did mine and now my XM radio wont work. I need help lol
Have to buy an Xmas module
What does the chime thing do and do u need it
The chime speaker replaces the in car speakers for backup alerts and the like. I would try finding a place for it without sticking it on first
Dart B Productions what install kit did you use? Does it have the factory door chime sound?
@@Skankhunt98745 the installation kit was the recommended one for my model vehicle from Crutchfield.com
Could you link that USB adapter please.
I don't know exactly where my dad found it other than it was Amazon
Bruv will this world for 2009 Chevy Silverado
It should be generally the same yeah, if there's any differences it will probably depend on the trim package you have
Which dash kit did you use? I got the metra and it sits crooked
I think mine was a Metra, sorry to hear you had poor luck.
Link for interface please??
Not really sure what you're referring to here...
Chime module?!. Throw away
Hahaha indeed I get the sentiment
Less talking.more doing!!
Got it, I will work on that in future guides!!
