    Great talk. I hadn't seen Ms. Thurman in a non-acting context before. She is a delight.

      Roy Zero Indeed. I have many of Bob’s lectures and interviews. He has a sense of humour that enlivens his personality.
      And yes indeed. To have the lovely Uma on too, was a delight.
      As a lazy Buddhist, and once ashamed of the fact, when Mr T claimed the same problem for himself, my sprits lifted and for a week I meditated like mad. Now I’m back to lazy but a little less lazy than before.
      Namaste and care,
      mhikl

    Sweet tag team: Robert Thurman as this encyclopedic enclave of knowledge, text, terminology and Sharon Salzberg--when she can get a word in--the therapist sage-like practitioner and meditation teacher. A very complementary pair of teachers. And of course Uma Thurman there to humble her father and act as an informed mediator. Brilliant!

    Buddhism is a choice based culture........... You have to understand it ......... No blind faith....... And BUDDHA means the enlightened state for human being.........
    So no God..........

    • @freshencounter
      @freshencounter 5 лет назад +1

      chetan meshram There are different sects of Buddhism, and within these different cultures. And yes, it’s an open philosophy, and for as many a spirituality, where one is encouraged to practice the teachings for oneself.
      And the wisdom of no god, “all are Buddha” or as in other spiritualities , “we are all god”, gives us as humans back the responsibility to heal ourselves, care for each other, all living beings and the planet.
      One of the things I love about the Theravada tradition or sect of Buddhism, is that other religions or philosophy can also be employed, without judgment, at least in many places in the state, along side the Buddhist teachings when they support understanding and off light on the path to freedom; freedom of heart and mind.

    If it is not possible to love your enemies guess you'll just have to notice with non dual awareness the connection between your bottom and their face as the rectal muscles expand and contract, LOL

      Marina Koujman It’s wonderful to see how we can transform when we send compassion to those causing us harm. It so gives us our power back. We become less reactive and can more easily choose our responses.
      Not just my boss, but her boss and others at work were so painful. I can say it’s taken me 2 years after leaving, to get to forgiveness, and while I was there, practicing offering love or compassion, helped to also build my confidence and find much more satisfying work.
      Hope you are in a better place now, no matter what that looks like!

    Some "mind altering practices and substances" seem to be helpful, but by making you too stupid to understand what is wrong and right with them, they are a continual step down. (Not even backwards, on the level)
    In the now, ..awareness of the continuous creation connection rolling/waving around us in the uni-verse, should be the experience of cause-effect, the interchangeable energy states of the physical laws and regularity, but it's often interpreted in a fatalistic way to be deterministic/discrete separation from wholeness.
    Dramatization, depictions of higher intelligence show beings who understand directly how each action of the universe flows, cause-effect into another, and when/where how to navigate mindfully in the holistic conditions of Eternity-now. It's a situation example that demonstrates intelligence is the natural occurring ability to discriminate/discern points of reference, or read the wave-envelopes as an ocean Navigator does. Super intelligence operates by reading the wave/map of interconnected events in the universal ocean of Time Duration Timing.
    Wow, is it a "compassionate" concept to see commerce as the happiness of successful robbery? That explains a lot.
    Fun to think about.

    Hi remetes, thank you for your comment. I was really commenting to another comment, but I don't see it here now? I was not addressing this to Uma and her dad.
    What I was trying to say was that all religions of the world are dead unless they are in the Spirit of God. In Gen 2:7 man became a living soul, yes. But his spirit is dead in trespasses and sins. The spirit becomes alive in the knowledge of God, through Christ and only this way. This is Gods plan of redemption not mans. Thank you again for even reading this, and yes I do love you. Thats why I'm sharing this info with you all.

    The Bible will make no sense to those who are not living in the Spirit. Receiving Jesus Christ (the saviour to mankind) given to us by the Father, will bring your spirit to life.
    So therefore as written in the Bible; Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

    • @remetesj
      @remetesj 9 лет назад +1

      Well, I couldn't disagree more because based on the Bible, precisely see Gen 2:7, God's spirit is in every human being (Hebrew "Ruach" could mean "spirit" as well as "breath"). In addition, listen to this "The spirit of God has made me,
      and the breath of the Almighty gives me life" (Job 33:4). So, your quote from the Galatians where it says "walk in the spirit" as opposed to the flesh (=dead matter, stuff without life) could simply mean to walk on the path of the Spirit of God who is the Giver of Life (an ancient Christian name for the Holy Spirit to be found in the 4th century Nicene creed). So are you saying that you are living in the Spirit? If you are, you will recognize life originating with the Creator everywhere you can find it, that is, not only within the self-defined boundaries of Christianity -- which many times, during its history, seemed to have walked on the path that led to death and destruction, in this sense it walked on the path of flesh, not on path of the spirit of Life and even less on the path of Jesus, the Incarnate Logos of God, who told his followers clearly: "love your enemies" - do not return evil with evil, return evil with good, etc. The peace of God that passes all understanding may be with you and may open your spiritual eyes to the compassionate love that Jesus showed towards everyone, including his personal enemies :)
