@@MisterSingh. you love submissive asian women, i can tell. She was property, passed from her husband to her husbands killer. And she submitted obediently to both... That does it for you, huh?
This is one of the best directed scenes of romance i have ever seen. Its not over the top, its pure. These are 2 broken character's who know nothing but heartache, yet she trusts Algren enough to show affection. Beyond beautiful.
The deep complexity of their love is truly captivating, and you can actually feel their love of for one another in everything they don't say, it's powerful and haunting. Say what you want about the movie, but facts are facts, and the fact is this movie legitimately a great movie. From the relationships, respect, honor, and just from a cinematography standpoint of view, this move is great.
I don't see what others do. Did they fall in love and when they kissed. Did that mean they both realized they had? I am not a child but could you explain as if you were talking to one so that I might understand?
@@jameswahnee-vn5nt Algren killed Taka's husband in self-defense in a pivotal scene of the movie and then was brought to the village as a hostage/guest to recover from his wounds in her home. As Algren adapted to life in the village and life with Taka and her children, he realized what he had been missing since the loss of his own family when he was much younger. Taka had a difficult time accepting his presence in her home, understandably, but as he begin to absorb the culture and traditions around him, he became closer to her children, especially her oldest son Higen. The attraction between Algren and Taka grew gradually and started I think when he asked her to forgive him for killing her husband and she did, knowing it was done in self-defense and was destiny. Once Algren returned to the village (after initially leaving but realizing what was really going on in the Emperor's corrupt court), Taka's feelings for him resurfaced as she was mourning the loss of her nephew and frightened of losing Algren and her brother as well as the samurai prepared to battle the Japanese army. This moment between them was emotional because Taka asked Algren to wear the armor of her late husband and the kiss was both loving and what she believed to be a farewell (he probably did, too). The mood, music, and cinematography are so beautiful and it feels palpable between them as their feelings for each other are displayed in the gentlest ways.

I’m a Samurai as well because I’m a Takeda clan of the Samurai and my Japanese name is Okuma that came from my grandmother 👵 and so I’m a Bushido known as Samurai and so I’m a Samurai as well but first my great grandfather was was with the Uesugi clan and so I am Samurai
Not the greatest movie, but it has good moments. This scene between Nathan and Taka is one. I appreciate how they never had a romantic relationship until now, and it being subtle in the form of a kiss from eachother. Good job for the writers, director, and the cast for this.
There is so much to unpack here... Loss, Lust, Guilt, Nostalgia, Regret. All in her face and gestures. At one point she gets absorbed by the routine of dressing him, like she did so many times for her husband. For a brief moment, she forgot the present and happiness seemed possible again.

The most pure, beautiful, understated romance…
He killed her husband then fucked his wife?
Killing then emasculation is romantic to you?
That woman is so beautiful in this movie

The words, the touch…the kiss. Absolutely breathless . Taka believes, she will not see Algren again. A beautiful and honest scene. I love it!
Taka strips away Algrens final link to his past and as she dresses him with her hands, and love… Algren is reborn. Beautiful scene.😊
the beauty of this scene is she knows he might not come back and this would be their last moment together
Notice how Algren does not enter the room until he understands what is asked of him. Beautiful!

When Taka says it will honour for Algren to wear the armour…he stepped forward immediately. Beautiful scene!

One of the biggest possible love scenes in history, beautiful romance.
So beautiful, gentle and filled with emotion. So happy that they didn't add a sex scene.
@SarahHuntsman888Scenes good enough, doesn't require anything more
That came after he returned, much beautiful love happened forever after
This scene is more erotic and sensual than a sex scene
this scene conveyed love and affection beautifully what a 100 sex scene cannot do
one of the best love scenes ever
A masterfully acted and scored scene. The emotion. The hurt. The love. All without saying a word. Incredible.

Greatest Love scene in cinema
This is better than most modern romances, the chemistry is present, this scene is sensual but not sexual, instead beautiful
Such a moving scene and the music adds to the feeling. Brilliant movie with a brilliant soundtrack
one of my favourite films
A poetry without words....
Probably the most romantic scene of all romantic scenes ever filmed.
Spoken with no words, "I'll come back to you if it's in me."
The only scene in movie history which didn't need any sex scene to understand the bond between them.
this scene is better than any sex scene in the history of cinema
