Welp! Had no idea we both had the same attachment AND would be lifting totes 😂. At the end of the day, it's awesome! Yes I agree it takes some getting use to. You are using the curl functions in the exact opposite you are use to, I'm learning.
Looks like a great use for old airport baggage carts. Two totes per cart in a “cart train” that you could pull around as needed. Great idea with the forks!
if I didnt live in a swamp, im sure that would be a good idea. I know those carts would sink into the mud real quick. BUT that would be an excellent visual of a tractor pulling luggage carts full of firewood around!
I was shopping for some of these, figured I could fill and pull up to my boiler a cart at a time. Hard to store them empty was my final decision. Not enough room.
I'm glad to see your tractor is back up and running 😊 Interesting attachment, I can see a lot of uses for it including bank mowing and tree/brush trimming.
I must say, I have not seen anyone use that attachment before, good info and thanks for showing it. I say hook up the snow pusher and film it pushing snow and use the comment section for entertainment. You could probably make a comment response video and respond to the internet experts by user name.
I have a 50G and pallet forks. A full tote with green firewood and the arms extended gets me to the limit of my machine. Appears you are discovering it as well. Challenges for me, Not to be tempted to bring the tote in too close to avoid damaging the vulnerable hydraulics up front. also keeping the folks level when moving the arms in and out. That said, for me an invaluable tool.
@@EverythingElliott I am not that far ahead of you, I saw my initial challenges in your video. However my pallet folks attach directly, so I appreciate learning about the Dipper Buddy. That will open up a whole world of possible attachments. thanks. Robert
Hey Elliot - one idea for the skid mount - If you have a 3 point landscape rake you could hook that up and you now have a fine tooth comb essentially for dressing up any dirt work you do
I thought of that...but I would have to make a conversion for the rake to make it ssqa. Not out of the questions, just have to ask yourself, how many conversion plates do I want to run for one implement.
What about setting your boom and stick and then tracking a bit more like a skid steer. You'll have better maneuverability but in your current situation would tear up some real estate, but if it was dry or frozen...
slow is smooth and smooth is fast ! Gotta be one hell of a learning curve with that.
it certainly is...like trying to run an excavator with backhoe controls...just feels wrong

serious learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, its amazing!

I'm interested to see what wild ideas I come up with!
Now I know two people that own them. I wish I was the third. Nice work!
if you dream it, you can achieve it!
That was pretty cool. What a good idea. There are so many options you now have. Great video Elliot
Thanks for watching!
Okay you got the blade handled 👏
Glad you got to that point in the video! Thanks for watching
Great way to make a skid steer post hole auger work on your excavator.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Talk about accurate holes!
thats a awesome attachment
It’s super handy that’s for sure, I’m excited to try other stuff on it
Great job!!!!!!
Thanks!
Hello Elliot, practice makes perfect, but it ain’t no skid steer, buddy😂👍🇺🇸
That's true...it might be even MORE capable than a skid steer hahaha
@@EverythingElliottrun a Halverson 120 on it, and maybe I will agree ha ha👍🇺🇸
Looks good. Don't fore get your boom off set to help your line ups. Good luck.
Yeah, there’s quite the learning curve, but I was starting to get the hang of it!
I've clicked on the video because of the title ... My Excavator "Identifies" as a Skid Steer... brilliant !!!!
It’s 2024, it could be a purple elephant if it wanted to haha

we might just have to do that....for science.

Certainly is a learning curve, as you watched me struggle. But once I get the hang of it, I think it will be worth its weight in gold!

Well that should reduce the amount of mud! Lots of reach without having to move the tracks.
I hope it works as well as I think it will!

@@EverythingElliott good point - save it for a rainy day
Find a busted rake, cut off the 3 pt and weld on a generic ssqa plate.

Honestly, didn’t think about that as I was trying to stay stationary, but that’s a decent idea! Thanks for watching!
Try putting the blade down and see if it doesn't tip your machine
Same machine as mine. I was thinking about doing the same thing.
There is a learning curve, but it works super well once you get the hang of it
@@EverythingElliott I have a mower for my skid steer I’m thinking I could use it on the excavator
Good morning from Marilla
Morning Neighbor!
Your Hitachi identifies as a john deere
you're right.....a cross dressing Hitachi
Gonna put the tractor out of a job.
It will still have its place, but I'm sure this would replace a lot of menial tasks
Attach the brush cutter won't be hard after you get it ready for post hole digger.
Nice setup, looking at getting into firewood business so I subscribed. Mark at the Cay🌴👍🪵🇨🇦😊
Thanks! I've got a pretty efficient set up for a one man operation, let me know if you have any questions!
