Another outstanding mouse review, I know you probably have a list of things to review but it'd be amazing if we could get a re-review in a month or so, people have complained that the scroll wheel tends to go out after a few weeks use.
@@TheProvokedPrawn if a follow-up review isn't in the cards then that's okay, I was just curious bc multiple people have complained about it. Again great review, keep it up :)
I have this mouse, not the supreme version but I don't think there is a difference. The wheel is weird and sort of stiff but the rgb, the carbon fiber parts, the various switchable parts and the hand posture is amazing. Never thought I'd shell out this much for a mouse but damn worth it. Did I mention it has a carrying case...
I have Mad Catz 7 for last 10 years. By my humble opinion, this new mouse does not have any new feature that would made me to change trusty R.A.T 7. Not to mention lack of second scroll wheel.
I can't tell from the video; Did they make sure to cover it with that self-destructing, rubberized coating that they used on their previous mice, ensuring that it will turn into a sticky mess in a few years? People may call me cynical or pessimistic, but I like to think of myself as practical. With any mouse, one of the things I look at is how hard it's going to be to take it apart when it starts to act up. Because let's face it, no mouse, no matter how expensive, is immune to problems. They all use a bunch of common components and they're all susceptible to the same problems. The microswitches used for the buttons have a contact area that is smaller than the head of a pin. These contacts easily get dirty/oxidized over time, leading to the infamous double-click problem. At that point, you need to take the mouse apart, take out the circuit board, pop open the microswitches and clean the contacts. I find a sliver of fine sandpaper works best. If the switches are really worn, you may need to replace them. If the scroll wheel doesn't use an optical sensor, it too will eventually get dirty/oxidized and start 'bouncing' when you use it. At this point, you need to take the mouse apart and spray contact cleaner into the mechanism. And then there's the rubberized coating. When it starts to turn sticky, the only thing you can do is scrub it off. I find that window cleaner with ammonia works pretty well and won't damage the plastic. Saturate it with the cleaner, scrub with a toothbrush to soften it up, then gently scrape with your fingernail. Add more cleaner, scrub some more, scrape some more, repeat until it's clean. Of course doing this requires taking the mouse apart to separate the plastic pieces from any electronics, and the more complex the design, the harder this is to do.
The mouse is great, but don't take the Strike 7 you'll regret it The plastic quickly deteriorates and become like rubber and will stick to your finger, the keys are very uncomfortable and will soon deteriorate too and also the cables to connect different parts are fragiles
For another advice on the strike 7, I disagree with the other comment. Maybe it's all depends on personnal liking but the keyboard is insane, confortable and soooooo coooool
