I just got one, the thumb bar does not wobble like yours. The reel came with 180$ worth of JDM lures as well( some megabass, lucky craft, evergreen, and OSP). I wish it had a click drag though.
The tatula sv 70 spool does work. I have a salamandura air along with a roro spool for ultralight and a sv70 spool for heavier stuff. They all work good.
If you actually end up doing a cast battle between all these diawa bfs reels, please please get the gomex spool for the tatula 80 and put it in the test along side just to see if these dedicated bfs reels are actually worth buying.
I have the gomex spool and it's just over 6grams. I can launch small crappie jigs a mile. It's almost half the weight of this tatula bfs spool so I think it's worth comparing.
well its considered the original "bfs" low profile reel before "bait finesse" was coined. The spools on the pixys were pretty heavy by standards even 10 years ago
I'll take my Tatula TW 80 with the Gomexus spool and original spool for a lesser price, especially if bought on a deal like I had bought! I'm able to have 2 reels in one, so why not! Not to mention the Zaion Star Drag.
The spool on the Tatula TW 70 have a long spool shaft; not a short shaft; so if you owned a Tatula TW 70 just buy the shallow spool and then you're good
Weird question: I have a Casitas clone ( $20 ) thanks. And when throwing with my Kastking rover i can get around 110-120 yarda out of it. But my BFS reel cant hold that much line. So i worry about casting out all my line and then getting a strike? Legit problem or not?
you didn't mention what pound line test you're using though; sorry to break it to you but you can't rarely spool 120yrd of lines just by normal fishing, unless you're doing test cast with a heavy ass lure, because most of the time average anglers cast only 70yrd (1yrd = 3ft) which is 210ft. maybe you only cast 120fts and you're confusing yourself fts from yrds 🤣😂
I converted my tatula 80tw into a bfs reel with two different spools and a clicker because I was way too impatient waiting for a tatula bfs lol. I will probably pass on this one because I am saving for another
@THEREELTEST the new tatula doesn't have one? I am claiming my homemade tatula bfs better than the factory one then lol. I got a smoking deal on the reel on ebay and added bearings, a clicker and two spools and a handle, I am sure I am still half the price of that one. I do think it's great that they finally offered a tatula bfs though
@THEREELTEST I believe it was one of the originals that started it all, t-wing & bfs. There's the TDZ ITO 105 spool special edition, too... I'm a little older than you at 62... but feeling 26... 🤣

15:44. It's true. Daiwa spools like Zillion 1000 can be swapped with other spool like Ryoga 1016 Steez 1016 Zillion tw hd 1000 But like i said before, Daiwa supports no innovation, minor cosmetic changes and then they slap unrealistically priced on what they called a new model. Killing their own segment of fishing
I'm surprised that Diawa keeps trying to sell the same reel, with a different paint job sooo many times. Shimano is King. But when your channel is The Reel Test I get it. Keep adding those paper weights .😂😛
@@THEREELTEST I have one diawa reel, a salamandura air. The only other one I might get is a silvercreek only for looks. Diawa reels are classically boring low performers.
@@THEREELTEST There can always be Monday models. But when you buy quality products, you can always exchange them if necessary. Even then, you usually get compensation as well. Either monetary or products.
I can't support daiwa. Between the gekk, alpha air, salamadura air and now these 2 new ones. They pretty much just re-skinned the same reel 5 times and no one is calling them out for it. We shouldn't be having call of duty sales strategies in fishing
All models aren't available on all markets, right? It seems like Daiwa for some reason really likes to rebrand the same gear with slight differences for different markets.
@PontusNieminen that's my issue why I'm against them cause just release the reel. Stop putting one more sticker or one less sticker just to charge someone ANOTHER $100 ontop of the $250 reel
Well Daiwa used alphas frame for literally every finesse lineup. Honestly those frame really work well. Yes Daiwa did make everything looks the same but you need to keep in mind these reel was designed for specific game fish. In US you mainly focus on bass and such but in Asia we have a vast species of gamefish. As Daiwa and Shimano are Asian company of course they do create reels for specific fish in their region . So yeah why bother use other frame when you already got the best
my critic was not about how people will spend their own money. they can do whatever they want and this apply to you too. im here not to crtiicize your contain as i was afan of your channel. my critic is more about the brand. im sorry my critic does not suite your taste. thanks
Who is picking up a Tatula BF 70 or PX BF 70?
😂
😆🤣😂
I just got the bf70. Love it.

only for usa market ?? or for the world market
Isn't the original SS Air based on the Steez & the poor man's Steez the SS SV? Which everything interchanges.
yes same frame and body, but spacers put in to accommodate the smaller 32mm spool. So you cant put that spool into the SS SV or any Steez
The tatula sv 70 spool does work. I have a salamandura air along with a roro spool for ultralight and a sv70 spool for heavier stuff. They all work good.
No drag clicker?!?
Goes the BF70 have click drag? Thanks
I am just getting into BFS fishing for trout, this is a big help. i am looking for the lightest spool with the best technology
If you actually end up doing a cast battle between all these diawa bfs reels, please please get the gomex spool for the tatula 80 and put it in the test along side just to see if these dedicated bfs reels are actually worth buying.
ive been waiting for a better spool than the gomexus for the 80 thats much lighter...
I have the gomex spool and it's just over 6grams. I can launch small crappie jigs a mile. It's almost half the weight of this tatula bfs spool so I think it's worth comparing.
Idk if daiwa PIXY is a BfS reel or no cause it’s meant for finesse fishing, and back in those days people finesse fishing with this reel
well its considered the original "bfs" low profile reel before "bait finesse" was coined. The spools on the pixys were pretty heavy by standards even 10 years ago
I'll take my Tatula TW 80 with the Gomexus spool and original spool for a lesser price, especially if bought on a deal like I had bought! I'm able to have 2 reels in one, so why not! Not to mention the Zaion Star Drag.
completely understandable
How light of a lure can you cast with that gomexus spool on the TW80? I’m trying to decide on my first BFS reel.
@liammoodyfilms Although I haven't tried it yet I'm comfortable saying prolly 2 grams up. Once I've completed the casting tests I'll let you know!
The spool on the Tatula TW 70 have a long spool shaft; not a short shaft; so if you owned a Tatula TW 70 just buy the shallow spool and then you're good
So your saying if I own a SV TW 70 I can just buy the BF70’s spool and it will work just fine?
Weird question: I have a Casitas clone ( $20 ) thanks. And when throwing with my Kastking rover i can get around 110-120 yarda out of it. But my BFS reel cant hold that much line. So i worry about casting out all my line and then getting a strike? Legit problem or not?
I dont know what a Kastking Rover is
@@THEREELTESTIt's a Abu Garcia C3 type of round level wind reel. Thank you for the response.

If I was in the market for a BFS reel I would just buy a tried & true JDM Alphas Air TW, which I can get on Amazon Japan for $220.00
free shipping and no tax?
Yes, but I live in Japan. :)@@THEREELTEST
Tatula 70/Salmandura is same shaft as the Tatula BF70.

Shimano 🏆
Finally
Ive had one for awhile lol... but the 24 Metanium DC takes precedence
Too bad the Tatula 70 BFS had no drag clicker like Salamandura Air. The price range NOT competitive.
Ive heard the PX has no drag clicker either
I myself will never buy any Thailand Daiwa. Or really any reels made outside of Japan. It's just not a saving worth the money.
Made in Japan doesnt guarantee flawless quality though.. just watch my 24 Metanium DC unboxing lol
