    Hi mate. Not sure if I can describe the technique properly. But when you snag up, hold your thumb on the spool and pluck the line with your other hand. Using index and thumb, just pinch the line between reel and first guide and pluck it. This we free up the snag most of the time.. you might need to pluck it a dozen times. This has saved me countless times as I normally throw my lures at the gnarliest snags for Aussie bass.

    I switched from that line you have on there to the Leland's SOS. My casting improved noticably. Great video, thanks for all you do.

    since i started bass fishing again in 2017, i have bought half a dozen reels, none of them have a drag clicker. i don't understand why they don't. i like having one. question: doesn't leaving the plastic on the cork defeat the purpose of having cork handles?

    Thanks for the look. Definitely feel you losing those jerk baits. I snagged on some old line the other day tried for a good 5min. Glad you had fun and caught some!

      i dont understand the logic of "i snagged a weedless lure, lemme try something with treble hooks"

    What difference between 2023 SV TW 70 and 2024 70 BF?

  • @walden6272
    @walden6272 6 месяцев назад +7

    The way you overhead cast with that quick snap of wrist will cause birdnest. For BFS, use side cast, it will get the lure farther and the cast is smoother.

      you have no idea what you are talking about

      @@THEREELTEST The proof is in your own video. If you never learn, you will keep making the same mistake.

    • @snakebit3159
      @snakebit3159 5 месяцев назад +1

      It doesn’t matter which way you cast. The reason for the bird nest on any bait caster reel is the amount of flex from the rod when cast. To much flex ,from to hard of a cast ,along with not enough brake will do it every time. The flex in the rod will slow the line, when the spool is still trying to let line off. That is the over run of line.

    Losing a discontinued lure is the worst. I know that pain😂
    Have you had a look at the 23 tatula 100 yet. I've found some reviews on it but thers not alot on RUclips yet. Id love to see your review and breakdown.
    And of course theres a new curado for comparison.👌

    Isn't it just an sv tw 70 with a shallow spool and drag clicker?

  • @SamBlumer
    @SamBlumer 6 месяцев назад +1

    Love that rod. I have two of them and was sad to find they were discontinued. I hope you do a review on its successor.

    I ask the Daiwa USA national sales rep. about no drag clicker at the dealer show. He told me Daiwa didn't think it was a necessary option for the USA market.
    I believe it was cost cutting since the Zillion & Steez now come with drag clickers. 🤔

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  6 месяцев назад +3

      for regular bass reels maybe, but the bfs guys demand drag clickers

    • @ShaneJMcNair
      @ShaneJMcNair 5 месяцев назад

      @THEREELTEST We're talking about the USA market, not the JDM market. These are two different consumers. BFS is a minority here.

    You should do a review of the Dobyns BFS bass rod for comparison. I don't remember you covering domestically available BFS rods.

      on long hard casts you can hear a little bit. But so far so good, hopefully it will stay that way.

    Fishing the spawn is a concept I don't get as a European. Here I don't know any place you could target a species during their spawning season. And at times these protective seasons are quite extensive (trout are protected for 5 months in my local river).

    • @THEREELTEST
