This shows what is possible with careful design and planning in high-res mode on the C64. Looks fantastic! I hope it does well to encourage further development on the system. (Don't pirate the game, guys!)

Can you believe that there are still man-childs out there that wear the fact that they still pirate as a badge of honour?

@@RetroGamerNationIt's a shame. I can't say I never did as a kid, but that was because I had no job and no money! Surely adults of today can pony up $9.99 or whatever it is nowadays for a heck of a lot of work and some retro memories!

I have a funny anecdote about C64 piracy. When Ghost Bunny was finished it felt a little awkward (to me at least) to charge money for a C64 game in 2021, although I worked almost two years on it. But I really didn't want to offer it as a free game either, because it would be cracked by the 'scene' vultures immediately... and land on the shit pile of CSDb to be forgotten the very next day. I didn't knew what to do until ZZAP!64 contacted me with the proposition to release the game on their monthly disk, and I agreed because this way the game would feel less wasted to me. The ZZAP digital disk was released on their Patreon... and a few hours later the 'crack' arrived, just as I thought. Credits to CSDb for quickly removing the download link and telling people to buy the game! In the next few days RUclipsrs where playing the game while boasting they bought the ZZAP disk and people should also support this..... WHILE PLAYING THE PIRATED VERSION!! You see, when the game was 'cracked' they did such a shoddy job that there are graphic glitches introduced all over the screen every time you leave a room. So it is very clear whether someone is playing the paid version or not. One person out of maybe 10 actually had the courtesy to pay that 1 Dollar!!! Sad, isn't it?

This looks fun. I don't have a c64 but I could always use an emulator.

Reminds me of Hero of the Golden Talisman, interesting hi-res style. I've been playing for ZZAP! 64's review, and it's a big game area to explore.

      That's a deep cut of a reference Andrew. You're a walking wiki-c64.

I see a lot of similarities to Ghost Bunny, which is also inspired by Hero of the Golden Talisman TBH 😆

Do the enemies respawn when you've cleared a room ?

Yes they do. But for this game they need to in order to collect the crystals you need.

Nice review but if you share a link to the "Digital Version" could you check the link or confirm that it's not yet available in digital formats? That's a link to their main itch page and this game isn't on there. Thanks!
