    I love this controlled way of making the nice watery overlapping areas of colour. Beautiful backgrounds. I love the transparency of watercolours and this technique shows the transparency off so beautifully.

    I am anxious to try this way of making water color backgrounds. Will start with atc sized water color papers. Thank you for this wonderfully informative technique

    I like this drying technique. I usually just apply the color and let it dry naturally... I really like the finished background. Thanks for sharing...

    Hi Christine,
    Thanks for sharing -- I think I may dig out my watercolors tonight and play. I love the results you're getting. BTW, if that's a Ranger non-stick craft sheet on your work surface it's safe to heat directly on it with your heat tool. I even think the warmth that develops below the piece being dried helps the process along. It's saved me scorched fingers and thumb prints where I didn't want them!

      I have attached the ranger mat to a piece of foam core. So it's the foam core that I am worried about melting. But it gives me a portable working surface.

      @@ScrapTimeVideos I had some attached to one side of a cutting mat which will buckle with heat (ask me how I know.....) but it's been fine. Worth experimenting a bit just to save your fingers, LOL!

    I love this effect and have been looking for a video on it for awhile now. I've tried doing this on both hot pressed and cold pressed cotton paper and it just doesn't work the same is this just a thick matte cardstock you are using?

    Very beautiful! Thank you for sharing! (Have you considered pausing the video while you dry?)

      Sometimes we pause. It depends on how long the drying time is and if during the drying a change is happening on the background.

    Question, do you need the air dryer to push colours or did uou just use to speed to process?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  3 года назад +1

      I use the heat tool to speed up the drying.

    Works better is the paper is wet...paint will move more and mix

    Its work on canvas?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  3 года назад

      Watercolour isn’t designed to work on canvas since the fabric will absorb the paint. It also doesn’t work well over gesso for the opposite reason. That’s why most watercolour is done on paper.
