Mielle Pomegranate and Honey shampoo and conditioner...
Today is wash day, and I had to run out of the shower now to say THANK YOU!!! Your trick to not pile my hair up and instead wash it downward, literally cut my detangling time from 4hrs last wash day, to 30 min today, on my waist length hair!!😍❤️ My shedding/ breakage is also at least 80% less!! Nothing else in my routine has changed, just this technique. I was washing my hair like in the clip you showed 🙈😅, but as it grew longer, whenever I rinsed, it would be one giant mat that took hours to detangle! This trick is EXACTLY what was missing from my routine! Thank you!!❤️
Your videos are so needed. Being in STEM I appreciate your simple, straightforward and potent haircare content. I based many steps of my haircare process on the science-based info you espouse. …I do have a tiny request/suggestion related to the image you show when you talk about a healthy scalp. In that image, the hair is dyed black and you can see that dye pooled in the pore of the hair follicle. It’s kinda bothersome and I just wonder if you’d be open to a different scalp picture as I noticed that is the one you use every single time eeep!, I’m a hard sell when it comes to subscribing to channels and to haircare influencers but you’ve got the goods sis. Hope you consider this😊
Great learning the science behind things! Thanks curlfriend!
Your info is always so helpful.
I like KeraCare Hydrating shampoo. I had been having an itchy scalp. I started using that again and a exfoliator like the one you showed and my scalp calmed right down. My hair is better for it also.
I love how your videos are always straight to the point, yet very informative. Also you’re professional and not judgy or talking at viewers.
My favorite is Melanin and Cream of Nature Argan Oil shampoos.
Camille Rose sweet ginger cleansing rinse
Second this! 🙌🙌
I’m loving the Atlanta hair doctor shampoo and conditioner It’s so good, I’m love the tingly sensation on my scalp
I have an exfoliating scalp scrubber, and I absolutely love it!
I love it! You are ALWAYS giving knowledge in simple format so we fully understand. I appreciate you so very much CC, thank you! ❤
Re shampoo I typically keep my hair in protctive crochet style for 4-6wks with a 2wk rest window. So when in a protetive style I use Giovanni 2chic ultra moisturizing shampoo/conditioner. When my hair is out I use hennasooq Peppermint, Orang and Sage cowash shampoo and their Soap Nut clarifying shampoo when I want to clarify my scalp. I plan to begin using vinegar rinses for prepooh instead of the clarifying shampoo. I like to use Ayurvedic herbs on my hair when it's not in a protective style. Thanks again! ❤
Thank you for giving a tip for properly washing your hair.😊
The As I Am Long and Luxe Pomegranate and Passion Fruit Shampoo is amazing!! Thank you, thank you!!
Creme of nature! Beautiful Textures!
I use African Pride Moisture Miracle Honey and Coconut Oil Shampoo. If I need more of a cleanse I use Shea Moisture JBCO Shampoo.
Hi Tonya- I love Aussie shampoo and conditioner. Love your channel.
Mielle Pomegranate and honey shampoo. So moisturizing 😊
Thank you for sharing! :-)
I love Aussie and so does my hair Thank You for your GEMS .
Thanks for the video. I just came across a new shampoo that I really like it's Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils Oh So Clean Moisturizing & Softening Shampoo. It's for chronically dry hair.
I have to check that out!
My current favorite shampoo is Kinky Tresses Avocado Infusion Sulfate Free Moisturizing shampoo and for clarifying/chelating, I like Redken Hair Cleansing Cream.
Melanin Haircare Shampoo 💗
Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils has a new leave-in conditioner that I love to use for my 4C gray hair. It's called Quench! Moisture Intensive Leave-In Conditioner and it has great slip! Thanks for your intelligent content.😊
Fave shampoos: KeraCare Jamaica Black Castor oil shampoo (moisturizing), treluxe shampoo (gentle moisturizing), kinky curly come clean (clarifying), bentonite or rhassoul clay masks.
Hi Tonya, tomorrow is wash day and I Thank you for the regimen when shampooing our hair. My favorite shampoo is Aussie now when it's time for me to do a clarifying I use Herbal Essences Clarifying Eclaircissant Tea Tree. Again Thank you for the tips on shampooing and other advice on Natural Hair. 🤩. I was in last night listening as I was sending the floating hearts.
Awww thank you!! :-)
My favorite shampooes right now are the Paul Mitchell Number 3, Paul Mitchell, Awapuhi Shampoo and Kerastase Bain Hydratation Douceur Shampoo. I splurge on haircare products.
Right now I'm using Olaplex. Ulta had a deal a few months ago where travel sized products were BOGO free, and it included the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is so concentrated, I need very little to clean my hair so it will last me a long time.
Old school still works! I love a good shampoo brush, and a good product system
Great video, right on time, this is my hair wash weekend 😂My favorite shampoo and conditioner in 2024 is Suave almond and shea butter moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Ooo yes! Those are great options! :-)
My favorite shampoo is TGIN Miracle repair strengthening shampoo.😊
Great choice! :-)
My main shampoo alternates from week to week. One week Keracare which is very moisturizing but also a thorough clean. Next week is Camille Rose ginger cleansing rinse, which is very gentle and does a good enough job of cleansing if I didn't use silicones the week before.
My favorite moisturizing shampoo is the design essentials, almond and avocado moisturizing shampoo. It thoroughly cleanses the hair yet softens it almost like a conditioner. You can even detangle your hair with a tool with this shampoo it is that good.
I use the oat and henna one. I wanna try the almond and avocado one when it’s time to reup
@@shantevyaify Yes the oat and henna is their clarifying shampoo. I use that one every 4th wash or so. You will love the almond and avocado, it is my favorite shampoo and I have tried many.
Interesting.. thanks guys!
Thank you for this informative video. I absolutely love the scalp scrubber. Its such a soothing and cleansing tool.
I shampoo my hair every other week (2x a month) and have been using the following faithful shampoos for years: 1st lather - Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and 2nd lather - TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free shampoo.
After every shampoo, I deep condition.
I have started using a deep conditioner after I wash as well. I also sit under the dryer for 30 mins with my hair in a clear processing cap.
I remember when our mother washed our hair. We would lay on the sink. And she would wash the scalp, then take a bowl, fill it with water, then rinse. My mom used prell shampoo. I use it right to this day as a clarifying shampoo every day two months.
But I love shame oysters, raw butter shampooit really cleanses my scalp and hair, and it leaves my hair feeling very silky, soft, and hydrated.❤
Hey Tonya
Regarding frequency, I do workout like 3 times a week so I find it difficult not to wash my hair each time. Is is ok or do you have a recommendation for that?
Thanks 🙏🏾 and keep sharing with us it is really helpful I love your content ❤
I am really loving the Limited Edition Tropical Oasis shampoo by Miche beauty
I have 3 favorites Olaplex, Redken Nutrafol, Do you recommend switching shampoos and how often. I hear its ok to change it up. Thanks for sharing, great tips💇😏
My favorite shampoo at the moment is the LUS shampoo but for a clarifying my hair I like using Olaplex 4C
My favorite shampoos are melanin African black soap for clarifying, and Donna's recipe for moisturizing. I do a double shampoo and using the African black soap to get rid of the weeks worth of product and dirt play followed up buy Donna's recipe to cleanse and moisturize always puts my hair in a good place.
I use the AG hair acv set. So far so good
My favorite shampoo is Melanin Haircare African Black Soap Reviving Shampoo.
Favorite shampoo is Shea Radiance Maximum Moisture Shampoo and Kirk's Nourishing Cleanser Fragrance-free as a backup.
My fav shampoo was Heritage from Walmart or Shea Moisture100% Virgin Coconut 🥥 Oil Moisture Shampoo NOW it’s PROSE (custom made for my hair)! Game changer for me! Don’t want any other shampoo but to save money I go back and forth between Shea Moisture and Prose. ❤
I use ORS rice water and electrolyte shampoo and for my clarifying shampoo, I use Suave.
I use all Mielle hair products. Also, the TGIN conditioner strengthening mask leaves my hair soft, but due to having low thyroid and one point being diagnosed with CCCA to finally after 2 years know what's the cause of my hair loss I have been able to with your channel do a lot better with my hair care. I wash my hair 2x a month and have it cornrow by my beautician. I have been natural 15 years and wear protective styles wigs that I put on and take off everyday. Love to finally really see growth in my hair. Just stopped ✋🏾 worrying about my hair loss and let God do the rest.
Right now I’m using mille organics honey and oat scalp soothing shampoo but before her I use the Walgreens dupe of neutrogena salacylic acid shampoo for dandruff! Good and cost effective sometimes it’s on sale for $2!😊
My favorite shampoo is Melanin’s African black soap shampoo. It makes my hair soft and gets my hair and scalp super clean without stripping my hair. Ive heard some refer to it as a clarifying shampoo but that has not been my experience. And, a little goes a long way.
Nature’s little secret cucumber shampoo (most moisturizing shampoo I’ve ever used) and their lemon clarifying shampoo (deep cleanse, no stripping)
Adwoa Bio Mint I really like it
Currently my 2 favorite shampoos are the Blue Tansy Clarifying from Adwoa Beauty and the Nature's Little Secret Cucumber Shampoo
My go to’s are melanin followed by Oyin honey hemp moisturizing shampoo…has gotten my hair from the auntie puff to bra strap length
Kinky Tresses is the most moisturizing shampoo I’ve tried on my hair. It’s my favorite. ❤️ runner ups are Design Essentials Honey Creme, 4C Only Too Clean, and Keracare CurlEssence for moisturizing Shampoos. For Clarifying shampoos - Adwoa Beauty Blue Tansy, K-18 Detox shampoo and Melanin Hair Care African Black Soap shampoo. Hope that helps someone!
Sounds like an amazing list! ❤
Olaplex 4C (abs C is for clarifying) Shampoo
Tweakd by nature Hawaii Kukui Nut oil Peaces and Fresh Creame cleansing hair treatment 🎉
Thanks for sharing.
That's why I use nozzles to direct the shampoo on my scalp & I also use an exfoliating brush, plus using oleic acid in my conditioner, thanks to you 💝 TGIN & CAROLS DAUGHTER are my favorite shampoos & conditioners & I've stopped using hair grease on my scalp, I feel it clogs my pours, so, I let the oils & leave-ins to penetrate my scalp....is this a good way of managing my itchy crown? 🤔
Hi Brenda! That's fine, just make sure the leave-in is not too heavy on the scalp to avoid build up; the oils are fine!
I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere….. a lot of people say that if you’re using a deep conditioner, you don’t need a rinse out conditioner . Will a deep conditioner also offset the negative charges of the shampoo? Or do you need to use a rinse out conditioner with the deep conditioner for that to happen? And if you do use both, which should you use first?
This is the question that needs answers... cause I was gonna type the same thing.
How does your hair feel when you use both? How does it feel when you only use one or the other?
@@MeriamH. i don’t have a clear answer to that. Sometimes i use both, sometimes I don’t. I ALWAYS deep condition so sometimes I just use regular conditioner to add more slip after the fact. I use different products and combinations from week to week, it just depends on how my hair feels.
@@sympthylost got it. That’s what I was thinking. I definitely don’t know the science behind it either! Doesn’t seem like anyone is on the same page about it but I figured the hair would say which way to go!
Hi, please make a video on why my roots are getting dry way faster than the rest of my hair ?
Does an ACV rinse close open cuticles? If so, is it better to use it between shampoo and conditioner or after the conditioner is rinsed out. I was always taught to close cuticles after conditioner with cold water. Your thoughts?
Right now I'm using 4C only shampoo
I've wanted to try that; is it good?
Black by nature's Neem/Shikakai shampoo bar
My favorite shampoo right now is the GIOVANNI Curl Habit Curl Defining Shampoo -
Wish you had a list of non comedogrnic products shampoo conditioner leave in etc.
Ok. for the shampoo after the trigger: Creme of Nature Argan Oil from Morrocco Sulfate-Free Moisture & Shine Shampoo. Creme of Nature is an old school brand that I'm been using since...2004! I don' know what they put in this shampoo but it cleanses properly and you can detangle with it ( if you dare) And it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg!! It's 5 dollars/ 5 British pounds and some change. Meanwhile people are trying to get us to buy shampoo WITH NO OILS OR BUTTERS that cost 25 bucks and dries out our hair.....side eye...the shade...IFYKYK. Lol! I'm being petty. 😅🤣😂🙈 Aight nobody as petty as my black folk when it come to their hair!! My trichologists and I be laughing.... My stylist too but he's Polynesian.
Yes!!! Creme of Nature is the GOAT!
My favorite shampoo is cream of nature argan oil
Yaaaaas! That shampoo is awesome!!!!!!

Because I have a bunch of scalp issues, a very sensitive scalp, seborrheic dermatitis with inflammation, hair loss in recovery, I've needed scalp injections, I can only use fragrance-free. So of course I love my prescription ketoconazole shampoo because it helps my scalp issues and I love hairprint chelating shampoo because it deals with the mineral deposits from hard water and my hair feels soft and not stripped afterwards. I follow this with a cleansing conditioner and then deep condition. So I have 3 cleansing steps: 1. treatment, 2.chelating3. co-wash. It works for me especially with my scalp conditions and sensitivity. I like to use the suds after I have scrubbed my scalp as a lubricant to take out loose hairs; it makes the detangling process wiht deep condition so much easier and faster. I don't have a wash day anymore, I have a wash morning, a wash afternoon, a wash night. Sometimes I don't feel like washing my hair in the morning or I wash my hair before or after work, I let my scalp guide me even though I generally wash every 2 weeks. Every week was too drying for me.
What is your opinion on natural shampoos like rhassoul clay, shikakai, Zizyphus Cristi and the like?
Also, what do you think of the "gentle poo only" movement that seems to give some women super long hair?
I personally don't think it works for everyone, but i do wonder why it seems to work for some !
Oh and last one
What do you think of henna? 🙏🙏😃
Hihihi. Thank you so much!
Carlo's daughter Wash Day Delight with Aloe Vera shampoo...
What is your thoughts on the Karseell Collagen product?
I haven't tried it before to provide feedback, but the ratings look good.
Girl that first 15 seconds triggered me. Lol!
Just looking for a safe ratio of essential oil to add to my shampoo, please
I have two. Mane n Tail shampoo & Castile peppermint soap diluted with water
Yess Mane n Tail is classic!
How often should we wash our hair? That’s what I want to know.
I love Texture ID clarifying shampoo and their moisturizing detangle shampoo. I also like Miche moisturizing shampoo. They all are sulfate free. These are my main go to shampoos
I second Texture ID moisturizing and detangling shampoo; used it on 3 different heads in our home with + results!
I like Garnier Fructis Whole Blends Legendary Olive and Melanin.
*Kinky Curly Come Clean with a few drops of my Rosemary Essential oil and African Pride Moisture Miracle Shampoo has being my Go-to in the last 3 years*
Tresamme moisture shampoo

Hello ❤
Happy Friday!
That shampoo brush...mmmm
Your hair looks great, not a wig, right? CC what do you think of the no poo movement. I've seen it with the 4C ladies, but also from a curly white lady too. The idea is that there are alternative methods for cleaning the scalp and hair. For the white lady she took an historical approach noticing that it was common for women to have hair down to their feet, as evidenced in a lot of historical photos. According to GB shampoo is too indiscriminate in it's removal of oils from our hair and our natural sebum, the best source of lubrication for the hair and protection of our scalp. Also shampoo is a new invention and women never used it (sorry 🥴kinda long)

An acquaintance of mine, ended up cutting all of her hair off because she didn’t properly care for it, when she wore braids. She says after she washes and conditions, she does not use a leave in, or any hair products, No moisturizers, no nothing.
She now wears a wig, that she takes on and off every day, reattaching the wig behind the hairline with glue.
I’ve told her that I don’t think that this is the best thing for hair growth and retention, and that she may be married to that wig for the rest of her life.
What say you?
No applying wig glue every day. She might be one of these people who doesn't like to do their hair. Or she might be like me in the past when I didn't know how to do my hair and did some damaging things. I wear a scarf to work because the air at work dries out my hair, scalp and skin. My white head manager told some black women that they could wear a scarf....I wish he would tell me that but he would be in for a bad bad surprise education on cultural formal outfits and my health as a black person. I'm not going to compromise my scalp and skin just because he doesn't like head wraps..when in Africa and the Caribbean a head wrap is a formal head covering! I think he doesn't say anything to my head wrap because I wear it more like a hijab than an African gelee or turban. Besides the point it's black and it matches out work attire/uniform.
Doo Gro Tingling Shampoo
My favorite moisturizing shampoo is the design essentials, almond and avocado moisturizing shampoo. It thoroughly cleanses the hair yet softens it almost like a conditioner. You can even detangle your hair with a tool with this shampoo it is that good.
