Just a tip, the decal on the chain guard is very sensitive, don’t scrub on it cause it will come off. Lightly clean it and then clear coat the chain guard to preserve the decal
@@bradcousins-qj3ge I just finished a late 1980's polished aluminum mountain bike and I'm currently working on a 1982 Schwinn World Traveler 10 Speed. There is always a project in progress at my house.
It is very heavy, but it sure was a fun ride. If it were mine, I would use it for group rides. The owner is planning on setting it up as a stationary bike.
Excelent work, congratulations!
Thank you so much! I'm really pleased I was able to save this one.
Tengo el esposo de ella una varsity,1969,gracias por el video, muchos jóvenes no saben como reparar esa bici,
Gracias por las amables palabras. Me encanta revivir cosas viejas y hacerlas utilizables nuevamente.
Just a FYI, if your going to be replacing the chain anyway, bolt cutters is alot faster way of taking the chain off.
absolutely! Unfortunately, I haven't used mine in so long, I don't remember where I out them.

Thank you. After I retired, my wife talked me into filming all my projects. Now I wish I had filmed all my collector bikes I've since sold.
Hope you get more bikes in to redo

Yes. Unfortunately it was so dried out that it rubbed off.
@@NewLifeforOldBikes yeah i think they got stronger in the late 70s

An old Schwinn like that makes a great campus bike. The step through frame makes it easy for a woman to ride it with a skirt or dress.
@@galootlovestoolsThat's exactly what this was originally used for.
I can't believe you ruined that poor girls chain guard, and didn't even mention it. Should've had a little, "what not to do" segment, bud.
When finished ,she was really happy with her bike and understood the logo had dried out. We discussed replacing it, but she decided to leave it alone.
