I'm a Dutchie, and have watched a lot of train hopping videos. I think the best way to get to know the US is by train hopping. I think it should be some kind of 'right of way'. ________________________ EDIT : subscribed 👍
man west virginia is just beautiful. Like a mysty, lonely "jungle" with lots of wilderness. I remember the first time I train hopped through west virginia. I was 17 years old, alone, and hundreds of miles from home. No one knew where I was, but I didn't care because I was having too much fun lol. 100% my favorite state to train hop through. Awesome video. Cant wait until your next one.
Sick story dude. WV is absolutely beautiful. It's up there with Washington to me. I'm excited to get up thru bluegrass country Tennessee and Kentucky way. Stay free and safe dude.
Am glad that conductor didn't snitch! Good stuff, sir! Wild, wonderful WV is unparalleled in natural beauty! I lived there for 15 years... Miss it sometimes. That tipple and old unit were neat! 12:10 👍 I like how you edited this, and how you slowed the footage down for interesting stuff. I hope you're well! Stay safe and thanks for sharing! 👍👌😊
Thanks dude. WV is definitely a special place. On that ride some foamers snitched me out, kinda got pulled off in bfe Virginia. It wasn't that big of a deal besides having to walk 7 miles to the nearest town. The bull told me the foamers called in from Ohio. Apparently the bulls between there and Virginia didn't see me so they didn't stop the train. He said he saw my feet so he stopped it. I was off the train by the time he showed up so he could really do much besides take my info...he gave me water and pointed me towards Christiansburg VA. No harm no foul🍻
@@fleotusbing nah just ran my id for warrants no pictures. Said it was up to him if I was getting a trespassing warning. He told me since I was respectful, he cut me a break. He was pretty chill...and yea screw those foamers. I saw them on an overpass South of Toledo filming with a tripod, they pointed and waved at me. Then turned around and snitched me out 🤦
At the 1 minute mark, that was definitely the hills near Chillicothe. The rail overpass in the next shot is the CSX which passes over NS in Chillicothe.
@lonesomeknoteye had the same thing happen to me on the transcon. It's was 50 degrees up near Kansas city and then friggin 28 in amarillo TX.. seemed like opposite day. But I went to sleep relatively warm underneath a pig w wings then woke up with mist/rain first than a nice cold front. Oof that ruins the views
Being a Dutchie, why does this feel like coming home? Just jumping off in some town, marry a local girl, and sit on the porch sipping a bourbon while she caresses my neck.
Howdo pal WTFMIKE suggested watching, I like it, used to watch Hobo Shoestring until he sadly passed, guy was a legend imo, knew more about the pacific & Union stuff than the railroads themselves i think, subscribed from Scotland, safe travels 👍
With my balance, I wouldn't even think about hopping a freight train. Of course, I've been on board locomotives while train crews were assembling trains for departures. The one route I always wanted ride up and down is, the Bustleton Branch in Northeast Philadelphia. The former PRR Branch Line.
Hah... I've been skateboarding since I was 11 so my balance is pretty decent; but 3 points of contact is always a priority for me. Thanks for watching 🍻
Dude that was an epic ride! And great video. Much more beautifull area than i was in in WV. And that old coal mine was awesome. You think those camera's were legit? And how far did you make it?
Right on dude. WV was a beautiful ride. The cams were solar powered so most likely not monitored but I wasn't gonna be leaving my gear on the train to explore. I didn't plan on getting more than a 100yrds from my ride. I've got about 4500miles this year so far. I made it down thru NC to the coast by Wilmington NC. Found some good work, caught a Greyhound out to meetup with old friends in SC. Now I'm in Bama, planning on hopping to Birmingham then up Nashville way next week. I'm considering hiking the Florida trail this summer but I'm just keeping on keeping on brother 🍻
Hey bro glad to see ya keeping it moving. What is the final destination. You coming back south to FLA again??? God bless I’ll be praying for you my brother.
I appreciate that dude. No final destination just riding to ride for now. I'm planning on riding the Florida West Coast line this winter but I'm considering hiking the Florida trail 🤷
@@BlackMan614 Right on. Thanks for the correction dude. Phone only lasted a couple of hours out of Columbus so didn't check my the map until I was off the ride close to Christiansburg VA, so I assumed it was the new river🍻. Beautiful none the less. I have the rest of the ride scheduled to drop on Thursday. Thanks for watching.
What a horrible heaty ride out in the open, don't anyone care about getting seen anymore, more people getting seen and pinched the harder it will become, choos a better God damn
@@HighBall-wt8jp welp, I didn't have much of a choice to get out of the Columbus July heat. So I bit the bullet. And foamers did see me and called me in from an overpass in Ohio. No bulls saw me until almost Roanoke, I was off the train when they stopped it,walking towards Christiansburg and the bull stopped me, ran my id for warrants, gave me water. Talked with me for a good bit. He told me the thefs and felon bail jumpers (mostlychomo that fail to register) are the reason rails are heating up. He also told me riders with dogs are far more likely to get pulled off. I tried to get one of slaves on that ride but they were all locked. Like I said I didn't want to stay in Ohio at all. My apologies if I upset you dude but it's the way she goes sometimes.

@lonesomeknoteye Yeah, I think it's best to be respectful. It's definitely not time to do a "4th Amendment audit," lol.
Nice touch adding the Mountain music. It fits.

Absolutely is. I was down there just the other today. The NS heartland corridor down to Portsmouth.
@4:05 lol when you finally get warm in the sleeping bag and dont want to emerge but you know the views are worth it.

Cheers🍻

That is not the New River. CSX runs along the New in West Virginia. NS runs along the Tug Fork and Bluestone River (and numerous creeks) to Bluefield.
