SACANDAGA HONDAFEST 2021 -- Is This New York's Largest Three Wheeler Collection?

- For the past 5 years I've been dragging my collection of old Hondas out into the daylight for family photos... What started as an impromptu lineup shot one afternoon back in 2017 has evolved into a fairly orchestrated event involving a couple dozen likeminded friends and a video production crew!
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you what has become Sacandaga Hondafest! I have been on a mission these past number of years to track down and acquire 1 of each model, year and color Honda three wheeler made. What I can say is that I've achieved that when it comes to the US models. There were 2 non-US models sold that I've only obtained one of... so the search continues for that last one. BUT, tracking down very nice representations of the other 76 variations isn't anything to shake a stick at!
That's the background, that's why I have so many... If you're wondering why I would spend a day, well, actually a weekend of my life each year bringing them out and putting them back... well that's just because it's cool! Cool to me a least!
I couldn't do this on my own. As you can see from the video, I had a TON of help to pull this off. "Many hands make light work" as my dad used to say. This little event has evolved into 3 different photo setups; 1 in my field, 1 in my driveway, and 1 by the side of the Great Sacandaga Lake in Upstate NY (the real upstate... not Poughkeepsie or Binghampton or some nonsense like that). In the field we've done a big long line of Hondas (2019)... we've done Hondas around a massive 30' x 50' American flag (2020)... and this year we had to turn it up a little and opted to recreate a giant Honda Wing out of Hondas while incorporating an old sign from a dealership with 6' x 6' letters. It came out better than expected! It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn good!
From there we did 6 rows of approximately 15 Hondas each in my driveway... smallest to largest... no a super tricky shot to pull of, but it sure looks cool. The troops took a break after this to refuel with some burgers and after that we made our last push to get everything lined up by the lake. We spread them out more than previous years so each could be seen and not be lost in the crowd. Then everybody gets their pictures... everybody gets to relax and talk... and then everybody goes home and I've got 101 Hondas to put away... What used to be able to be done between lunch and dinner on a Sunday... now happens between Saturday AM and Monday night... But we're building memories and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Hope you enjoy our little show and can appreciate the craziness. We're just having fun and trying to live our best life. Thank you for watching!!
Videography done by Todd Bailey www.tbphotopix... He's amazing. Look him up! Here is his RUclips Channel / @toddbailey84
This is another level, you have raised the bar for us all, thanks for sharing
This is something definitely need to watch
Thank you so much
Hope you enjoy it!!
Now that was awesome I love the formation of the honda wing like Honda’s Old slogan if you don’t have a wing you don’t have a prayer
Thank you very much Kenny!! If we didn't have a drone to use to keep checking, I don't think we could have done it! I was pretty pumped about how it turned out.
Cool video 👍🏻 Glad I could help out and be a part of this awesome display!
Absolutely Jaw Dropping! Well done Preston. Keep these videos coming! 😎👍🏻
Thank you so much!!
That Honda wing of 3 wheelers is just plain awesome!!
Thank you!! It really came together nicely!!
This is seriously AWESOME! Oh my God "Coach" Preston! 🤣📏
great video love the line up!
👍🏼 Makin’ Memories’ 👍🏼
Handle bars and grab bars only... no tank, seat, or fender touching... those are my rules....now while I love trikes and your collection and your willingness to share and archive as much info as possible.... I do want to say that there's no magical secret or ability to obtaining these trikes( dont get me wrong this guy logged many miles and lots of time to assemble these great machines and he earned it by all means).. yes you need to know seat colors, decals and the miniscule detail changes year to year on every model... im still working at that... I digress,. there's no magic involved....some internet searching and word of mouth are helpful .... it takes MONEY and this man has been blessed with wealth and a very accepting and tolerant family.... and from the looks of it some good friends... we would all love to have huge collections but you sir DO and we thank you for sharing..... LONG LIVE THE HONDA ATC
Thanks brother! And thankfully I started a few years ago when they weren't crazy... I thought they were pricey then, but now those prices would be amazing deals!
@@ThisOldTrike yea I hear ya... I started in 2014.... the early days of the atc frenzy... when you could pay less then asking price and not start a bidding war, hahahah, I was only out of school 3 years at that point still living at home, lots of cash for toys... now the current prices are totally out of control but I can profit from every single trike I own if I choose to sell... in a way we're are lucky I guess.. . Keep on keeping on ATC brother
this is and was epic. Hands down best photo shoot
Thank you sir! Only way it would have been better would have been if you were there.
Awesome video, loved it
Thank you!
One word. Epic!
I would agree!!
Good lord I'm embarrassed to say I live in the Adirondacks and ride 2 Hondas 88 trx250r and a 87 200x. Kidding great show

That was awesome! Good intro and so glad you did the Honda wing! Great video
Thank you!!
Holy freaking collection! Nice edit too! When did you start collecting?
Thanks man. I didn't start collecting until early 2017. I had 3 machines prior to that.
Theres intelligent life in space looking down on this like "Yeahh, that's my kinda people..we outta swing through and give him a good probing" 👽👽👽
What to sale a 350 good one
Keep the new editor this is far better than the dry production prior
Lol, thank you, I'll let him know. But, be prepared to go back to my crappy, self-produced videos... I can't afford to put this type of stuff out each time!
by chance do you know the Strouses? Adam and Eric? Their father owned the nicest boat on the lake, a Fountain...i've been to that lake many times. and i love 3 wheelers. great post
I used to know a guy who was a cook at Lanzi's named Strouse, but I can't remember his first name! We always called him Strouse! He'd be around 40 years old now. I love Fountain boats too! They are sexy!
@@ThisOldTrike the guys i am talking about would be 50ish and 47ish...but that might be him, i dunno if he worked there. i think he worked just for his ultra rich dad but mb not. used to jet ski out on the Great Sac. thanks for responding, i got 2 185s for the start of my fleet...had 2 110s in the family, new, 1983..mine was the blue one. ooh rah
Awesome! Great collection! Watch out for the cheeseburger thief!🤣
He's always on the prowl!
Nice
That was a fun day. My buddy Todd put that video together. He's very talented.
Just bought some parts from David in Gilbert. He said he has sold u a few bikes. He has a lot of trikes himself. It was like Disneyland for me. 🤙🏻
I'm not sure who David in Gilbert is?? Gilbert where, NY??
@@ThisOldTrike Arizona. He said he has sold you a few ATC’s. He to has quite the collection
ok, I think I know who you're talking about, but I've never bought an machines from him.
@@ThisOldTrike hmmm. I’m sorry he must of been referring to someone else. My bad.
This video is awesome 👏 the beginning is hilarious 😂. Wife and I loved it!
Thanks man! My buddy Todd did all the video and he has some incredible talent!
@@ThisOldTrike That is awesome! Very cool video the Honda wing is genius!

#makeatcsgreatagain
I'm just here for the cheese burgers
They were good!! Made with love!
I don’t understand how this video doesn’t have views in the thousands yet. (Also, yes this is your oldest son, just changed my account name)
Hi Son!
I saw your article in dirt Wheels magazine what is 77 variance 3-wheeler you are getting from Europe
So when I submitted that info to Dirt Wheels, I wasn't aware of the 78th variant... So the one I was talking about in the article was the 1985 ATC 200ES Big Red. There's a recent video on that one getting to my house. But between when I bought that and when I got it shipped, I learned that Honda made a 1984 ATC 200E... So, now I'm on the hunt for one of those!
Aww dude i wish i had even one of these
Hey I got a question. I was wondering if I could take a set of front forks, fuel tank, headlight and fenders from a 1980 185 and put them on a 1985 Honda 200s chassis and engine? I'm wanting an old school looking trike over the more dirt bike style
Yes you can best bet contact Duncan racing, Leonard's dad was doing that b4 ATC was cool
So the 1980 185 takes a 25" tire, and a 200S takes a 22". So, if you are able to swap the front out (depending on the steering stem length), you'd probably have to take the whole assembly... front hub etc. Regarding the rear fenders, I don't know... the trunk on a 1980 185 is totally different than the trunk on a 200S. I would honestly be very surprised if you were able to swap everything over. The chassis is a lot smaller on a 200S. You're looking to do this to get away from the "dirt bike style" of the 200s??
@@ThisOldTrike yeah, I know it would involve eliminating the front suspension (which surprisingly still works) so I'd really have to sit down and think about it. And another reason is Im able to get the 185 plastic parts and fuel tank a little cheaper then the original style 200s
If you need some additional help. I'm near Scranton PA and can assist. I have a little collection here.
I would like to know if you can sale me a 350 it doesn't have to run one off the raceing ones
All four of the most recent ones I got were sold unfortunately. Any of the ones in my collection are not for sale...
@@ThisOldTrike how much
How much what?
Where are you located
New York
Just wonder why he didn’t have but 1 trx 250r no trx300ex and I didn’t see the game changer 2004 or 2005 450r
So, I'm a trike collector who has some quads... not really trying to collect all the TRX's. I do have a 2007 450ER conversion though... Not sure if you saw that.
hi Preston it’s lucy
Hi Lucy!! We missed you guys and your dad on Saturday!! Hopefully you've seen yourself in the parade video!
@@ThisOldTrike yup!! I did and thank you hopefully we could see u again sometime before school starts tell Paylynn I said hi :)
We’re any ATCs hurt in the making of this video?
No sir! All ATCs survived without injury. A thoroughly good time was had by all.
If i had that many trikes i'd never leave the garage , just the same as if i had breast's i'd never leave the house 😂
Park the quads on the side where no one can see them
I'm not far from you. I go to Sacandaga Lake often. I'll shoot you a message on Facebook.
