Supertramp Rudy Intro - Yamaha P-115

Supertramp Rudy Intro played on a Yamaha P-115. Rudy is my favourite song from Supertramp's album "Crime Of The Century" and Rick Davies is one of my most important influences on piano. The Yamaha P-115 is the fist digital piano I really feel comfortable with.

Regarding pianos and digital pianos I used to play on upright acoustic pianos for years and also had the chance to play regularly on a big and expensive Steinway grand piano. For myself at home I always used digital pianos both because of limited space and neighbourhood. So I have a long history of using digital pianos that goes back to the early 90s when I bought (was very expensive then! around 4'000 CHF) and played a Roland FP-8 as my first digital piano. Then around 2002 I bought a Yamaha P-80 which imho was the best space saving digital piano at this time. But it had no speakers built-in and so you had to use a P.A. or headphones. In 2018 I then after testing one out in a music shop bought a Yamaha P-115b which felt and sounded absolutely fantastic to me, and this remained the case until now. It has lighter keys than the P-80 (whose keys even 'though great were too heavy imho) and regardless the small size and light weight built-in speakers that sound full and natural.
Sitting and playing at the P-115 feels like playing on a real grand piano to me and I it makes me completely forget that I'm just sitting in front of a digital piano. I feels and sounds like a real piano and I can play everything on it from Jazz over Supertramp up to Chopin which really needs good and responsive mechanics (repetition and dynamics). And this in such a cheap, space-saving and lightweight package. Yamaha did an awesome job on this piano!
