HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- I installed a new Emgo Slash cut exhaust to my new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 this week and it sounds amazing.
The original cans weight 5.2 kg each size and the new slash cut pipes on my Continental GT weigh less than a kg each side.

That rumble is to die for.
I'm sure your neighbors love you. 😂
Haha luckily I only ride occasionally
I really liked that exhaust note and that slash cut exhaust really nice. In India we can't do such modifications simply because of the strict rules and regulations of the Motor vehicle Department . Thanks for your efforts ❤️❤️❤️ from Kerala, India.
Sir, please upload a flyby video of the bike with custom exhaust, it'll give better picture of how it sounds on high throttle on the road.
Like RJ says, the quality of the sound is more important than just making more noise. That sounds pretty good.
Quality over quantity. I'd leave the baffling alone.
Agreed John
I have had my Sporty 10 years now and am in the market for a new bike. Had a look at the GT today. RE hit it out of the park with this bike!
I think you are right Mad Dog, light weight, powerful enough. I love it
Sounds amazing..
Looks fantastic..
Increased Performance!
Great sounding pipes, keeping the baffles in also keeps your low end torque up, the engines power curve was designed for some back pressure.....
Video starts from 3:02
Too much intro waffle
thanks men i was searching for it as i only wanted to hear the exhaust and not the guy
Looks great 👍, i can,t believe the weight savings . Looking forward to all your mods and rides.
Pipes look really nice! Good choice!
Thanks! Throttle on 👍
That's awesome... love the sound.
Yes I'm looking forward you doing some modifications on the motor itself to see what really work on that motor before I buy one for my self
There's a big bore kit that can increase the motor to 865cc. motorbikewriter.com/bore-kits-royal-enfield/
Nice sounds - be more interesting following the bike out in the country. I still prefer the long cone style, Ala Norton Commando and Yam TX500 both I had ridden/owned before. We have to explore to find our hearts desire!! I'm glad you followed through from your early test ride enthusiasm and actually purchased one! Well done :) Been waiting two months now with cash down early April!!
Yes I'm looking forward to getting it out on a country road soon
Looks beautiful... I personally loved it... the sound is too good...
Thank you
Nice pipes. Sound great...love that throaty growl. The stock are good, but so heavy. This is the first time I ever consider getting new pipes just as a weight savings. Also, I have never seen straight pipes as an option before for the 650s. And they look like they don't stick out as much to the sides thereby widening the bike and making lane splitting trickier.
Wow what a difference! Sounds great!
Sweet sound , and this DR. mayhem is the best color of GT.
But sadly these sound mods are now illegal here in India
Things are changing here in Australia too
Yup, that just sounds awesome!
Thanks mate I love it
Enjoy them it brings the gt alive, ps loving the sticker on the tank! 👍👍
@@iRidetas haha thank you mate. Yes a little bit of shameless promotion until I get the custom paint job done
Why the hell not!
Every winter and spring for the last 5 or so years I look at bikes and motorcycles but I really want this bike and want to purchase one. It seems affordable and a decent beginner bike. I’m not a big fan of the quick sporty bikes that sound like a blender running dry, and a Harley is too expensive at the moment. Those pipes are sweet, I also am starting to like that black and grey paint job over the white. Great vid, thanks.
You're welcome Jon. I'm still loving this bike. I have a Harley as well as this. I'm just about to start a customising series on this bike
Throttle Downunder If you’re still enjoying it that means it must be a good one, would you recommend this to a beginner? These seem very popular in the “EMEA” regions, I think it’d be cool to have a bike that’s kinda rare here in the US. How much did it cost for the pipes roughly?
@@Gardensandgrills412 these pipes were only a couple of hundred AUD. A great beginner bike, lite enough, not too much power, but more than enough that you won't be bored as your riding skills advance.
There is also an S&S 875cc kit where you can Increase power if needed.
Follow my friend Santina at "Revelry Racing", she has built a drag bike out of one.
I wish there was an exhaust that is aesthetically like this custom pipes but with the stock sound
Best exhaust sound
Thank you
I love that sounds it so fantastic like music in my ears, let installed a cam on it to make more power
Yes, way better sound 🔊👌👍
Thanks Chris, yes I love the sound, worried about if it's too loud though
Very cool. I hope I can get some sent to NZ
Contact the team at www.revelrycycles.com.au/ and see what they say
Yes the rumble ..it's the roar of a lion .. does changing the pipes affect engine performance ?
I would 100% buy one of these as my main bike except for the 5000km valve adjustment every 5k. That's crazy
I have the S&S tapered slip ons on my interceptor and they sound amaaaaaazing. Definitely gonna get told off by the police at some point but they just sound too good to not have. These sound really good too.
I've since heard the s and s and they are amazing
I have since heard the s and s and they are amazing
Excellent pipes. I'm from India and I notice that the single cylinders suffer severely with exhaust modifications (because of lesser back pressure) and some times result in engine failure or crankshaft failure. Please keep us posted.
Thabk you for your information. I will keep an eye on it, hopefully I won't behave problems
just exactly what I'm looking to see on the continental gt. here's a thumbs-up, and a subcription! keep up the good work!
That sounds awesome. 👍🏼
So when you removed the catalytic converter did you have to reprogram anything? Did that cause the emissions system to go all wonky?
Lucky you that such exhausts are legal in AU (assuming that). Here in India aftermarket exhausts are illegal and RE bikes are the prime target to be issued fines.
The laws are ambiguous here, but we often don't get into trouble
Hi Rob . Those are nice pipes.. they sound real badass and I am sure the weight saved is something you will feel while riding the bike . However being an motorcycle nut myself I think you will come across some fuel and air ecu management issues later as the miles come along . Also something that workshop won't tell you is that you might end up damaging you head valves in the long run with long term use of these pipe . I wanted something similar for me when I was building my bike . I wanted a badass raaspy ripping grunt but not to blisteringly loud . I built my own pipe and exhaust end . I did not use the glass wool but made a air direction change fin type sound dampner that can be adjusted to my style when I want to. It works really well for me . If you'd like I can ail you a vid of it .
Thanks for the heads up. I'll certainly look into more. And yes Id love to see the vid of yours
I love your energy Mate ! Don`t go changing ! Awesome videos too !
Thanks mate 👍👍
Wow Amazing sound. I love it 😍
Congratulation mate
I start this machine in the shop and I can not complain on the sound. I think the pot who follow the bike give a great sound, but is always what we want... personally I could like more the bike have a more modern front light, like Kawasaki scrambler and Ducati, and cockpit with more futures and led lights.
Good video 📹 i noticed the pirelli phantoms 👻 back to the 80s ❤
Nice video, I like the simplicity
Thank you
great video, thanks.
Try the S&S performance exhaust for the GT
I wish they came in chrome instead of brushed stainless.
I am here in Adelaide, i went for something simmilar from ebay, its just too loud for my liking even with baffles in. Looking into getting the S&S
The S and S are great pipes. They weren't available at the time I installed these
More popping now !
Sounds amazing!
Doing the same this weekend 🤙
Jimi they are awesome, but loud. If you are commuting daily your neighbours might hate you haha
How would one go about doing this? New rider here :)
Faantastic . . . what a sound . . waaoo
Awesome man I am so keen to do the same than you .
I am from india and love ur videos and that's why i just want to suggest u ine thing after market exhaust name gursewak is better then this one u should watch this on utube
Looks good, sounds good and weight reduction? What more there is to ask?
Good sound mate, and I know all the roos gonna run away from your bike 😅
That's the plan. Haha. And the ignorant motorists too
I went to the dealer at Nerang(Qld) to test ride a Continental with the expectation that i was going to be very impressed with this bike and i had the 'money' ready. The demo bike had cheap EMGO slash pipes on it which sounded good until i got out on to the open road but then became annoying and something you wouldn't want to live with.
The good, Superb gearbox and clutch. Good handling.
The bad - hard uncomfortable seat that you wouldn't want to be on for more than an hour (and not even the single seat that features in the advts. Dealer says this is an "extra". WTF)
Clip ons don't give a good riding position and i'd want something more 'aggressive'.
I came away feeling very underwhelmed and am now not considering buying. a bit like the Himalayan that I rode for 3 weeks in India. A good bike for india at the price that they pay, but here? No - just too underpowered and falling short in other areas.
Couldn't ride an Interceptor. They were u/s out the back, having been crashed by demo riders.
G'day David, yes I agree with you about the pipes. I'll be making a new EMGO pipe review this week. Sound good but are way too loud on rides. After running them for a few weeks now I'm not happy at all.
Good work mate, thanks.
That sound wicked . Don't want to rain on your parade , but have you seen the size of the fines that apply for disabling or removing pollution control equipment from vehicles in NSW ?
I believe the cat is in the pipe just after bend near the rear brake pedal.
Fcuking awesome look and truly amazing sound!!!!
Thanks Mate
Sir you are lucky you have re 650,,i hope one day i full fill my own dream,,,i want this beautiful machine
Thank you, yes I am very grateful
Nice..... need to take it for a run through a nice long tunnel, it'll make ya grin from ear to ear!😁👍
Haha Grant so true mate 🤙
Would love to hear some ride by's
I'll get some done when the rain stops next week
In this case though what you have removed is the restriction of the catalytic converters located in each original muffler. If you are worried about the difference 10kg makes to the performance of a street bike, better avoid eating large meals and drinking more than 4 scooners.
I don't disagree with you mate. I'm just making the videos that subscribers ask for. And I like food and beers too much.
@@ThrottleDownunder Oh!
great video. Would you do a video on how you clean and look after your GT 650?
I love the color of your bike and nice idea for weight loss of your bike , women with weight issues should consult with this men 😂 , Drive safe enjoy your ride .
I also use custom exhaust on my enfield. Performance exhaust.
Hello. Did your fuel consumption went up ?
i was of the understanding from a dealer the cat is in the downpipe not the silencer,
G'day Peter, you might be right, I'm certainly not an expert.
Sounds great!
The silencer perfect match with continental gt 650.This is what I expected have to see .
Never mind reseling it, you need to put them on every time you do the MOT or gases
Lol the prices are Revelry Cycles are truly ridiculous… like double for same parts elsewhere!
Sounds great
ok.what about the heat of the pipes, they may burn some one who touches accidently.
There is a heat shield on them
Great sound man....
Loving your Chanel and Re videos, great presentation and great name. For the Chanel. Years ago I came down under from Pomshire UK..Loved Ozland and the people came away with a rolling thunder t shirt from Cairns. You should do themed Throttle down under t shirts, polo and cotton Re etc 😁👍👍
G'day Shaun, thank you for your message, and yes it's been in my mind lately. I might just do that
@@ThrottleDownunder Gday mate👍4.45pm in Sydney and 4.45am here in South Cerney Gloucestershire, have a great day, work for me at 7.30am,got to get me an interceptor, loved the slash cut sound! 👍
@@shaunmichaels6801 enjoy your day amd ride safe
Thumbs up but I wish you had moved the bike outdoors like the stock pipes.
Question: Do you need to do a retune on fuel with the new set up. Even with baffles it sounds less restrictive. Sounded like a lot of backfire going on in the opening shot.
I was told no originally but I am doing more investigation to make sure
What about the exhaust count with the catalytic converter gone?
Quick question, do you know if the dealership that installed them remapped the fuel flow? I am not sure if it is necessary because the OX sensor is located up near the header or not but thought I would ask. Just got my Continental 650 last week and am looking at pipes so I am curious if I need to get the bike retuned. Thanks Mike
Just asked a similar question would love to know.
Apparently reprogramming isn't necessary but still is an option. So I'm told
Changing exhaust needs no adjustment on fueling. (almost never!) But when you change both exhaust and intake (air filter and such) you need to address fueling. Have a look at TEC's films here on YT. With small mods they gain 50 bhp on the rubber!
Nice Sound and nice fiesta st 😉
Quality content 👌 keep it up
Thank you. I appreciate your comment
yes i enjoyed.
what about rainy season the water goes in to the silencer
This bike is just a toy for me. Is only ridden on nice days 👍
is the silencer detachable
Oh that Continental GT is a dream, now I want to sell my Interceptor and get one like that
Hey lovely video. Are these slash cut available in india too?
I really don't know I'm afraid.
Hello, nice to connect with you virtually. Would you mind sharing details on sourcing the exhausts to India?
Music to my ears🙂
Great sound and look - could you please tell me the make and where you got them?
Tony they are call Emgo Slash Cuts and got them from Royal Enfield Sydney
The pipes sound good 👍🏻. Did you have to make any adjustments to the EFI system due the reduced back pressure from the exhausts? Because usually for a carburettor you have to adjust the jets and the float etc.
Apparently the EFI on these will make the appropriate adjustments but I will be monitoring it over time
Sure, will wait for an update 👍🏻
@@ThrottleDownunder so… how did it go? I’ve just ordered some exhausts for my interceptor.
@@DenerWerb I enjoyed them but I don't have the bike anymore
@@ThrottleDownunder oh, that’s fine. But I mean, have you had any problems with the bike’s functionality?
Aww no sound clip without baffles??
You mentioned that the stock pipes have catalytic converters in them. I assume those slash cuts don’t, but do you know if there’s a way to install the cat back in?
Hi Igor, I'm really not sure mate I'm sorry.
The catalytic converter is in the header pipe where the little lump is under the foot peg doing this will not remove the cat
🚦Nice video, thank you for sharing. I VERY curious about the fuel consumption⛽ after the fitted the new pipes. Please update us with the results. Love the idea of shaving 8 kg but not happy about loud noise 🙉
This thing is sick 👌🏻
Wooow... f'ing ridiculous... i love it
I there a brand for these pipes or were the custom fabricated by your shop? Would love to get some thing similar here in the US.
They are brand, from memory called EMJO or ERJO or something similar
Its EMGO mate
What about some upswept pea shooters ?
Need to know how it sounds without baffle.
Where I live....If I get that installed on my Interceptor then for sure within a kilometer I would be caught by the police and my bike would be impounded for sure.
Also here I'll hae to be careful, NSW Police are cracking down on noise
Yon where you live? Haha
Ew!
In Mumbai cops are raining down hell on aftermarket exhausts.......Man they charge you with atleast 4 charges.
1. Use of Unlawful exhausts
2. Unlawful modification changing weight(2-5kg change is fine)
3. Removing Catalytic converter in resulting polution.
4. Bike is too loud at xyz db(will check with db meter)
everything will sum up to atound 15000 Rupees or 327 Australian Dollars...
Nope no Slash pipes😂😂
cool stuff, sounds way better.
Nice ST
Sadly it's gone now. I miss it. Want another one
I just saw your custom exhaust episode. I love the sound & the look. I myself has an interceptor that I bought this year. My question is can I purchase that online & if so, what is the link/website? The regular RE website doesn’t show it. Also, what is the name of it? I hope to hear from you soon & I appreciate guys like you makes these kind of videos. Take care.
Its an Emgo slash cut exhaust.
However they now have some S&S pipes that sound amazing
I'm curious what the odometer was showing when it first came out of the crate? Thanks
15km I think
I'm in the US and they are showing 9 miles coming out of the crate. I've had a Dr Mayhem paint GT on order since Oct last year. Yours sounds great!
@@guywihn1658 thank you mate. Yes that sounds about right. They need a quality control test ride before shipping
Can you share more specific part info? I live in Los Angeles and I'd like to do the same to my INT650
G'day Donald, I have no more info, I recommend you contact Revelry Cycles in Sydney Australia, and see where they got it from. Sorry I can't be any more helpful.
G'day back at ya. :) Here's what your shop said: "Those are EMGO 15" slash cut mufflers. We have to modify them to them to fit Australian exhaust systems. I don't know what the differences are with the US models. You should speak to a local shop."
Amazing exhaust. Sounds really sweet 😂 how can we buy one?
Anshuman Rajan no idea bruv. I really need these for me self
Lovely want these in India
Cool. I want a pair. Where can I get them? Revelry does not have them on their website. I'm in the US.
