      You can believe that all you want, but sin is still biblilcally defined as violating God's commandments in 1 Jhn 3:4. Sin for the Israeite is sin for the Gentile. You can also believe that the law of gravity doesn't apply to Gentiles, but if you jumped off a skyscraper without a parachute, you're going to end up dead. The term "Gentile Christian" is an oxymoron because the Bible clearly teaches that Christians become part of the Israelite commonwealth.

    While the Abrahamic covenant has undergone some changes throughout history, the essential promises made to Abraham still stand.
    One of the key passages in this discussion is Romans 4:13, which says, "For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith."
    this indicates that the promises made to Abraham were not conditional on the Mosaic law, but instead were given to Abraham and his descendants as an everlasting covenant (Genesis 17:7). This proves that the Abrahamic covenant is still relevant and in effect today.
    Moreover, Galatians 3:29 states, "And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise." This passage shows that Christians today are considered descendants of Abraham and therefore heirs to the promises made to him through the covenant.

      Absolutely strangely I asked Sinclair this question a while back at Ligonier and he said it wasn’t but I asked him because I agree with you sir the land covenants are not in place but the portion of the covenant dealing with universal blessing such as extended beyond Israel is applicable to the church and is not done away with a new covenant.

      @@toughbiblepassages9082 I understand biblically that the Abrahamic Covenant is called ‘eternal’ in Genesis 17:7, 13, 19; 1 Chronicles 16:17; Psalm 105:10. The original promises were given to Abraham without any conditions whatever. The covenant was confirmed by subsequent reiteration and enlargement. It was ratified by an oath of God (Gen 15:7-21), solemnized by the recognized method of confirming an oath (cf. Gen 15:18). It was given a visible symbol in the rite of circumcision (Gen 17:9-14). It was confirmed by the birth of Isaac, by the reiterated promises given to Isaac (Gen 17:19) and to Jacob (Gen 28:12, 13). I believe (Jer 31:35-37) speaks to this also.
      If God had intended to convey the impression that the covenant was eternal and unalterable, He could not have used more express and specific language. It is stated that His promises stand in spite of Israel’s sins, and that they are unaltered by them. His promise is declared to be immutable: “Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us” (Heb 6:17, 18; 6:13-16 ).
      The individuals in the church enter into the promises of blessing given to those in Christ and to this extent are the spiritual children of Abraham. This is expressly stated in Scripture: “Know therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham” (Gal 3:7). The basis for this statement in Galatians, however, is not on any promise given to Israel-and this is very significant. The passage continues: “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed. So then they that are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham” (Gal 3:7-9). In other words, the portion of the covenant specifically given to Israel is not transferred to the church. Only the portion of the covenant dealing with universal blessing such as extended beyond Israel is applicable to the church.
      But I will need to qualify that when I get home and check 👍

    It seems that some parts of the Abrahamic covenant have two levels of fulfillment. So, Abraham being the father of a multitude has one level of fulfillment in the literal descendants of Abraham, i.e., ethnic Israel, and another level of fulfillment in the spiritual descendants of Abraham, i.e., the church (e.g., Gal 3:7).
    One thing I am not sure about is the promise of land to Abraham's descendants. Specifically, I am thinking about ethnic Israel regaining control of land in 1948 and again in 1967. Does this promise of land still apply to ethnic Israel even in New Covenant times?

    • @Lena.9
      @Lena.9 Год назад +4

      I’ve been asking myself the same question the past few months. Want to dig deeper into it. But I do not think so. The Kingdom is taken away from them, and given to others. Gods Kingdom is now everywhere on earth were there are true believers.
      The state of Israel seems to me more and more ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’. On the other hand it’s clear God does allow it to be and the Jews to remain. But for what reason? That’s not necessarily the promise to Abraham.

    • @maxaplin4204
      @maxaplin4204 Год назад +3

      @@Lena.9 Thanks for that.
      God's kingdom is certainly a kingdom of believers in Christ, Jews and Gentiles. But on the other hand Rom 11:26 seems to prophesy a mass turning of ethnic Jews to Christ:
      'And in this way all Israel will be saved . . .'
      I do think God still has unfinished business with ethnic Israel, even though things have been fulfilled in Jesus.
      Important too is Luke 21:24, where Jesus prophesies:
      'Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.'
      Judging by the context, 'Jerusalem' here seems to be the literal city of Jerusalem. So the verse most naturally seems to suggest that ethnic Jews will regain control over the city after a time when Gentiles are in control. But could it mean something else?

    • @morghe321
      @morghe321 Год назад +5

      I don't understand how anyone could come to the conclusion that the reestablishment of modern-day Israel isn't a Bible prophecy come true. It's definitely applies to ethnic Israel, yes. What amazes me is that people even debate it. It's right there in the Bible.

    • @Lena.9
      @Lena.9 Год назад

      @@maxaplin4204 I also do believe Romans 11 does prophecy the conversion of a part of Jewish people. But is this related to an ethnic state of Israel? Imho not, the text doesn’t indicate that. And further there’s only a small percentage of Jews living in Israel. So I pray for the conversion of Jews everywhere.
      I am not completely sure about the meaning of ‘the times of the Gentiles’. When this is fulfilled will there again be a time for the Jews or is it indicating the return of Christ and the end of all things? In the latter case this means Jews will never regain control over Jerusalem, which hold to be true until today, even after 75 years of the nation of Israel.
      And I do think the ‘times of the Gentiles’ being the last and final time of history also fits Romans 11. Part of Israel is hardened and will remain hardened, meanwhile ‘wild branches’ are grafted in and some of the ‘natural branches’ as well.
      Because every true believer, whether Jew or Gentile, is the seed of Abraham (Gal 3:29) we are of the same olive tree. This olive tree with natural and wild branches is symbolic language for Israel, and all of *this* Israel will be saved. It’s talking about spiritual matters (faith) and thus a spiritual Israel which shall be saved.

      Note the word seed in the above scripture.
      Note the definition of the word seed in the dictionary below.
      He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ," quoted from the Sept. of Genesis 13:15; 17:7,8 , there is especial stress on the word "seed," as referring to an individual (here, Christ) in fulfillment of the promises to Abraham, a unique use of the singular. While the plural form "seeds," neither in Hebrew nor in Greek, would have been natural any more than in English (it is not so used in Scripture of human offspring; its plural occurrence is in 1 Samuel 8:15 , of crops), yet if the Divine intention had been to refer to Abraham's natural descendants, another word could have been chosen in the plural, such as "children;" all such words were, however, set aside, "seed" being selected as one that could be used in the singular, with the purpose of showing that the "seed" was Messiah. Some of the rabbis had even regarded "seed," e.g., in Genesis 4:25; Isaiah 53:10 , as referring to the Coming One. Descendants were given to Abraham by other than natural means, so that through him Messiah might come, and the point of the Apostle's argument is that since the fulfillment of the promises of God is secured alone by Christ, they only who are "in Christ" can receive them; (2) of spiritual offspring, Romans 4:16,18; 9:8; here "the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed" points, firstly, to Isaac's birth as being not according to the ordinary course of nature but by Divine promise, and, secondly, by analogy, to the fact that all believers are children of God by spiritual birth; Galatians 3:29 .
      As to 1 John 3:9 , "his seed abideth in him," it is possible to understand this as meaning that children of God (His "seed") abide in Him, and do not go on doing (practicing) sin (the verb "to commit" does not represent the original in this passage). Alternatively, the "seed" signifies the principle of spiritual life as imparted to the believer, which abides in him without possibility of removal or extinction; the child of God remains eternally related to Christ, he who lives in sin has never become so related, he has not the principle of life in him. This meaning suits the context and the general tenor of the Epistle.
      The abrahamic covenant will be fulfilled in the future. The elect are the heirs of the abrahamic covenant

      Dispensationalism is an erroneous eschatological system of doctrine invented by two Jesuit priests, Luis Alcazar and Manuel Ribera. It was then picked up and further developed by a man named Edward Irving and later John Nelson Darby in the 1830s in England. Finally, Cyrus Ingram Scofield incorporated these ideas into his Scofield Reference Bible in 1909/1917, and that's how it caught on in America where it began to spread and promoted by various Bible colleges/institutes and theological seminaries, most notably Dallas Theological Seminary. There are still many seminaries that still teach this false doctrine today, one prominent one is The Master's Seminary (John MacArthur's folks). Anyone who hasn't already done so, please research this out because no one in Protestant circles believed this doctrine before the 1830s and it's completely false.

      You're in a Zionist cult waiting for a 3rd coming from a changing puppet god to your fundamentalist americanized tradition you don't have any real Christianity.
      Israel is not important they hate YHVH and his Christ and the same is true for America.
