I don't get why people dislike this theme, this theme is actually great in my opinion
It does have a proper awesome movie vibe.
It's one of my favorite big finish original themes
I love this theme - it's one of my favourites, but I don't think it would work with any Doctor other than 8, it just has that unique 8 vibe
its ore like the movie so it ties better with classic who
It sounds like if Doctor Who was a Netflix Original Series.
Honestly I wish they would boost the bass on the Middle 8 here, and use this theme more often for Big Finish audios. Tbh the David Arnold arrangement is ok but would sound better with more Derbyshire mixed in like how Gwylock edited it. Nic Bowden also mixed some Derbyshire into this one to give it more oomph.
Such an underrated theme.
This needs to become the theme
I really wish BBC would hire Jamie Robertson to co-work with (if not outright replace) Murray Gold. Murray Gold is amazing, but I'd love something that doesn't sound like it was written by him, and Jamie Robertson's work to date is incredible.
Awesome Doctor Who Theme Not Long As Everything Missing Out Of This Doctor Who Theme.
0:23 is the best bit
Great theme, has a 1997-2001-ish vibe to it, like something you'd hear on an old vhs tape as a kid
Nope, this is the full one. But there is, IIRC, a quick 'sting' version for the cliffhangers.
i cant wait to hear these just finished off the c'rizz and charley era.
You can jump to the 8+Mary stories directly if you want. Within his time-line they happen before he meets Charley, so they're a nice little breather before heading off into the Lucie Miller and Dark Eyes stories.
I listened to the rest of Charlie first with her two seasons and the one with 6 and then listened to these and now I'm about to start dark eyes
I’m just starting is it good?
This is my favourite version of the 8th Doctor Theme. with David Arnold's a close second
DW2012
I'm not sure if I like this theme. I wish it would have been more faithful to the original arrangement.
+TempusWare It's heavily inspired by the Debney take from the Movie.
There's a lot to like about it, but it does get a bit crowded towards the end. Normally love the work Robertson does for Big Finish, but this one just didn't quite do it for me.
TempusWare the middle 8 is familiar
The first half of this theme is very subpar.
The adventures listed here were ones in which the Doctor's companion at the time was none other than the author of "Frankenstein" Mary Shelley.
One of the better big finish Dr themes
I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean the one of the cover of "The Silver Turk"?
Without wishing to give away spoilers, let's just say it hadn't had the best of days ...
Jamie"s back!
I think you may have misunderstood The8thDoctors comment. It was a jokey reply to me saying I prefer his version to the Robertson version used in this video.
Gwylock1 are you sure it's not the closing theme from Horror of Glam Rock :P
I love it ! Great job
This should seriously have been Dark Eyes' theme
Yeah, I know what you mean. I've a hell of a lot of respect for the stuff Jamie does (his music and sound on "Blue Forgotten Planet" is stunning) but really not keen on this remix.
I can understand what he was trying to do but, for me at least, he went to "Murray Gold" for my taste, but I do like the attempt to amp up the Debney theme.
(I still prefer the Arnold version for McGann, though! :) )
Thats the first version of the cybermen from "the tenth planet"
until 00:23 is epic
after that it becomes electric saw
What is wrong with the cyberman
But Arnold didn't do this theme. He made this dark theme, used from 2001-2008: /watch?v=uHelehSDwSI
The one in this video was made by Jamie Robertson.
I think iLikeTheUDK must have read the comments 'Unthreaded' and misunderstood the context of your comment about Arnold being best for Bond.
@The8thDOCTOR But he did. Look it up on Wikipedia, or in the TARDIS Data Core.
An excellent video to my fave remix of the Doctor Who theme! XD
no one said that Arnold did this theme.
Great graphics at the beginning
probably
Heretic!!!
:)
I like ittttttt ♡
The middle 8 is familier
Possibly as it's heavily inspired by the Debney version from the Movie.
Better than big finnish
Huh? This *is* a Big Finish theme.
lol David Arnold is best suited for Bond
WAIT WHATEHFUCK!!! WHY ARE THERE PICTURES OF A DISK WITH THE 8TH DOCTOR WHEN THE 8TH DOCTOR ONLY WAS IN THE MOVIE?!?!?!?!??! THE 8TH DOCTOR WAS ONLY IN A MOVIE. HOW HE CAN HAVE AN SERIES
Surely only having the movie under his belt is more than sufficient reason for him to get a proper run of stories? McGann has made an excellent Doctor through his work with Big Finish.
He's been (in my opinion) the best audio doctor of the lot, and has had some memorable companions along the way (Sheridan Smith being my favourite, though I haven't listened to all the Mary Shelley ones yet). All of the surviving doctors are at it on Big Finish (apart from 9th, 11th & 12th)
Also, he was also in Night of the Doctor. So not ONLY a movie.
Eight is the longest running Doctor, even surpassing Tom Baker's run. He's had dozens of audio adventures through the main range, over 40 through the Eighth Doctor Adventures Big Finish range, and over 30 audios so far for the Dark Eyes and Doom Coalition ranges.
Not only that, but he has a book series with over 70 books. (Aka: the EDAs. Look them up! :D). He also had one book in the VNAs.
His adventures are way more adult than New Who, with sex, language, gore, and violence, but they're all great and you should check them out! :D
Whathefuck do you with with big finish? GOD I HEAR IT EVERYWHERE!!! WHAT DO THEY MEAN WITH BIG FINISH! BIG FINISH OF THE SERIES?! HELL NO THE SERIES IS STILL RUNNING ENDS AT TEH SEASON 10 CUZ PETER CAPALDI IS LEAVING LOL
The company is named after an episode of "Press Gang"
+Rose Tyler Big Finish is a company that makes audio adventures, especially for Doctor Who. They've been running since the early 2000s, and have even started bringing New Who into the equation with making a New UNIT series, a River Song series, and Tenth Doctor audios.
actualy they have been running since the late 90s. They were founded in 1996, first produced an audio in 1998 and first did a doctor who audio in 1999.
+Eye of Horus Sorry about that, I was thinking about the 'Sirens of Time', which was in 2002. I didn't think about other audios that they've produced.
How stupid are you?
