  • This is the second time I've made a burner from used oil as fuel, this burner uses steam as a suction and thruster of fire, with a venturi effect technique. So no blower is needed. other than used oil, this burner is water-fueled

    so, you're using the steam generated by the heat of the oil fire to create a venturi affect that mixes art in, increasing the efficiency of the burn and the heat output. One thing i would add is a automatic pressure release valve , so it doesn't explode. Pressure testing might also be work looking into

    Funny, this is kind of how steam locomotives work. Once the steam is released from one side of the cylinder and the other side is pressurized, the exhausted steam is blown out of the smoke stack to induce a draft through the firebox. That's why they chug.

    I this will be much better if there is a pilot light igniter like what others did before the strong blue fires appears. They do not use any blower but heated the pipe using alcohol before they release the oil and the steam they got from it produces the needed fire. If using water can add more power on the fire then this is much more powerful than just using the oil. The pressure valve is also needed if using water.

    Neat little project however; it takes energy to cool and or freeze water for its purpose. Neat little household project but not viable for survival or anything like that unless you were to add a solar powered thermoelectric cooler or glyco cooler with a solar option for powering the pump. Which again would be over engineered for a survival application. So it's really better off in a survival situation for someone to actually boil distill over a fire. Still a neat project though for one two get a concept of atmospheric condensation to produce water. But the laws of thermodynamics indicate power in for product out. There by the temperature differential is what matters which is why you have to use cold water in your system whereas a survival system would get its temperature differential from the fire versus atmospheric temperature while at the same time sterilizing and killing any contaminants.

      He said need pressure gage and pressire relief valve. In my opinion fixing pressure gage is a safety feature the user to know the steam pressure inside before hydrogen and oxygen gases evolve to the combustion chamber. Maybe somebody can make imptove modifications to improve safety features and more intense heat generated.

    • @ThePlantsKeeper
      @ThePlantsKeeper  2 года назад

      @@albertocabual6023 I also agree with that, for more safety, you can add a pressure relief valve and a pressure gauge, in my place such equipment is very expensive, some are cheap but it's same as buying garbage

  • @wesleymccravy901
    @wesleymccravy901 Год назад

    Can one mix water and say acetone or water ethanol together until it a less volatile mixture since water is miscible in these combustible solvents; then allow that to be pressurized from the heat with a smaller orifice and run the venturi burner? And then only be using something like oil or white gas or w/e to initiate the heating of the water/fuel mixture?
    Also note I KNOW you cannot use oil and water in that stream generation reservoir because the oil would be separate from the water, the water would enter gas phase before the oil and would not be able to get past the oil's viscosity. It would blow up and kill anyone nearby. Like that time a crude oil storage tank was on fire and fire fighters hosed it for like 2 hours and the water was just slowly seaping into the fuel silo replacing the oil a it burned away. Then it heated the water to a supercritical state and could not contain the pressure. It blew up and gave all that oil exposure to a HUGE area to burn, all the surface area contact with air to burn at once, made the oil into just fast moving droplets of inferno

    What is that blue liquid that you pun inside before you start the fire.?

    • @ThePlantsKeeper
      @ThePlantsKeeper  Год назад +1

      It's gasoline for the starter, because oil is hard to lit when it cold

    I dont understand the full mechanics. It would be great if you would explain every single details.

    • @ThePlantsKeeper

      The top tube filled with water is actually a boiler to produce steam, the steam produced is channeled into the middle pipe to help suck the fire and push it stronger

    Well lets push this further... Can you Heat a bigger tank for a Central Heating or use the Steam for a Turbine to generate Power? It Looks Like its very effective. How much oil per hour?

    • @ThePlantsKeeper
      @ThePlantsKeeper  Год назад

      I think it can, the use of oil is quite wasteful but it is directly proportional to the resulting fire
