The game fell off cuz Tekken8 is better and you had a lot of views playing tekken8 but gave up on it cuz you didn’t want to learn it for no reason you could of dominated this year as a tekken8 player with views if u actually tried idk why u went off of tekken8 this is what the public thinks not what u were talking about it’s like you refuse to to see the truth
You should have really got into tekken8 I was so disappointed when u gave up on it ngl cuz how u gonna be the best at fighting games and not play the best fighting game out
If they were smart they'd drop KP3 and another story expansion and big update with stage fatalities, online lobbies, more modes, and Onaga as the true final boss. They can still save this game if they really want to.
The way you compared MK1 to MK11 is exactly how I feel also. MK1 feels fun to play, but everything else is bad. MK11 was bad to play, but everything else was fun.
bruh, EXACTLY! MK11 was a great game but with terrible mechanics, all characters felt permanently nerfed and extremely limited. But the rest of the game was almost perfect (except for the Sindel retcon)
I had more fun with MK11 than any other NRS game. Yeah the breakaway mechanic wasn't the best but I did like that every character had a move to break breakaway. I loved all the wake up options MK11 had. I feel like those things added a good element of mind games. I liked the footsie style game play. KB was interesting too
Overtime they slowly eroded away the goodwill they had with fans, MK1 was a huge miss. This is the first time I've ever dropped an NRS game and felt no desire to play the game.
Man i loved MK11 so much 😭 I played 10 as well, but the replayability of 11 with towers to unlock things and ranked seasons with cool new skins kepts me hooked! Every season I'd pick a new main and grind to the top
This was the first time in ANY NRS game that i un-installed the game before all the dlc was released, hated the story, hated the dlc, hated the Kameo system, hated Khaos Reigns, hated invasions, hated the gear system, and i hated the microtransactions. Actually the day khaos Reins came out i was instead playing Zenless Zone Zero rather then the story expansion, then when i played it one week later i hated the story. Hopefully, and i mean Hopefully nrs learns from this with Injustice 3 or the next mk game
I never cared for the Kameo system either. I would rather those characters be fully playable than more of a tag team thing. That’s what first turned me off from the game when it was announced. I still gave it a shot but my opinion didn’t change.
First MK that I have dropped before the end of the first dlc wave, game felt like it was made to try and maximize microtransactions + hated the whole Kameo system.
@ summon assist shouldn’t exist, a real push block to deal with pressure, strings should come out faster, projectiles unless ex shouldn’t knock down while standing, d1s should combo into other lows or block strings like street fighter so example d113 and if you block it the string moves players far enough to reset neutral
1.uncomplete game 2.constant crashing which lit stopped players from playing for months 3.unbalanced characters 4.story mode mid 5.micro transaction based game
u talk bout unbalanced when rn its the most fg xD, whatever team u have is kinda viable. some team synergies r gonna be stronger but u cant escape that. but hey constant flows of ken in sf n dragunov in tekken
@@Bubbs_Kahn mk scene was never good, or always had troubles. Remembering what’s happening w wb rn it’s pretty obvious y it’s happening, also year of competitive scene is happening so yeah. Lobby system is a waste of time imo, didn’t like it in sf or strive, only thing that’s bad bout ranked is no training mode while searching
I never had an issue with a gender-swapped Cyrax and Sektor. But it still felt weird they did that instead of adding Jade, Cassie Cage or other popular female characters
I think if they were males it would of sold way more and we prob be getting another dlc. Jade Cassie. But also the Cohan is a weird choice. T100 will be cool but they could of picked better people
I sure did. What a stupid choice by WB or whoever called that one. I won’t support studios that continue to do this crap for no good reason, it’s a lame trope at this point.
Right, like why gender swap popular male characters in a franchise with plenty of popular females? We even got a female version of Johnny wit janet cage 😂
I have no problems with changing the fighters. In Nightwolf's ending in 11 he would of like to see a new Nightwolf which was a female in his ending. I don't mind it really. They did it with Terry Bogard a few years back in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.
When I first booted up the game and saw that it didn't have a crypt, I knew what kind of game we were getting. Just a stripped down shadow of itself. GREED is the death of most things, and this is no different.
Diehard MK fan for over 30 years. From that very first time i saw Mortal Kombat in the arcades I was hooked. Never liked 3d era but i begrudgingly stuck by it as i was still invested in the lore. But MK1? I have never in my life hated a game of any genre, franchise or generation as MK1. This game was a spit in the face and kick in the nuts by WB and NRS. The only MK game I dropped and never went back to before the first dlc package was even halfway complete.
For me not having Jax as a playable character is just disrespectful. He’s been in every mk game in the history of the franchise, plus the kameo system was trash and unnecessary
I know it sucks to not have your favorite character in the game especially if it's someone you're used to have in previous titles but the truth is that history has shown that the only real staples in the franchise are Sub-Zero and Scorpion.
I feel it’s a bit stupid for WB to just axe future plans for MK1 and get the next game in development if there’s no sign of introspection for NRS. WHY did you have to axe Kombat pack 3? Why did the DLC underperform? Why were players so unimpressed with this title?
It would make way more sense for them to keep updating and adding characters, modes, stage fatalities, another expansion with more klassic stages and Onaga, etc.
I think that WB axed the game because to them (the producers, not NRS) it's all about the money income, if in 2024 the game financially performed badly they/WB just move on, to them it is just a product that "malfunctioned". I believe that NRS actually care about MK1 but they are on the leash of WB, so NRS has to do what they say, otherwise NRS could possibly lose the financial support from WB. Also, keep in mind that WB in 2024 had its ass kicked by Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, which bombed terribly on all fronts. So, in order to save themselves as a company, MK1 was one of the victims, that had an overall mediocre performance, even if they said that thay want to keep the MK franchise alive in the future (after all MK1 sold a lot of copies). Obviously I don't know what happened behind the scenes between NRS and WB, and chances are we'll never know. My bottom line is: at the end of the day, it's always a matter of money. It's my opinion that the DLC underperformed because it came out when the base game was in a sort of "doomed" state, players where unhappy about the game (both pros and casuals), at EVO 2024 it had the least numbers of players (which says a lot for a MK game). The DLC story was bad, which added more fuel to the fire around the game, so as soon as the first opinions about the DLC were around, some poeple kept some distance. The genderbend of two of the most popular characters of the game weren't exactly accepted by the MK community. The lack of a Kript mode: the devs created this Invasion mode which was a mix between a Kript and the classic Kombat, and I think a lot of players didn't like (probably mostly casuals). Personally think that the Kript in MK11 was perfect. It has been the sum of a number small things about the game that allowed the game underperform.
What is there to learn? Other than the studio head NEEDS to be replaced. They should’ve learnt that with MK11. WB needs to reorganize NRS or let another developer make the next game.
The developers are under the thumb of Warner Bros directly. Netherrealm is not in charge of anything in their studio. It all is being overseen probably by some idiotic suit who doesnt know jack about gaming that is enforcing the WB company line. I think game modes and the core gameplay of the game are within control of the studio. The Kameo system was a mistake and unfriendly to casual gamers, Invasions is a cool idea on paper but not allowing for a in depth and immersive free roam mode like Deception and Armageddon in its execution was a backbreaking mistake. Things like deadlines, pricing, microtransactions, gender swapping characters are all agenda driven ideas by the parent company. Especially now that woke idealism is being heavily rejected. Having transgender, homosexual or gender swapping characters just for the sake of having them to feed an agenda is really gonna start hurting no matter what it is in the entertainment industry
11:52 That's a really insightful observation, never thought about it and to be frank with you, you're absolutely right... the longer I see mk1 gameplay the more I see Injustice all over the place.
I’m a casual Mortal Kombat fan I recently got MK1 after watching countless videos of ppl trashing it. I tried it out and honestly it’s so fun all the characters are easy to learn on a simple - mid level I don’t really care for customization so the lack there of doesn’t bother me and I actually really like the Kameo system it’s actually really cool and something that I hope they keep even though I know they won’t but that’s just my two cents from a casual player
I’m glad that there’s other people enjoying the game as I do this game is definitely a big step up from mk11 the gameplay and the combos are more faster meanwhile MK11 was slow but I also enjoyed that game as well
Happy to go into the new year with you Super! I'm not an og but i've been lurking around since 2015 in my freshman year and happy to keep up with all your vids. I don't even play fighting games but I loved watching my older cousins playing tekken and mk growing up, deadly alliance especially, you kinda just keep that lil experience alive for me 👍
a memory of mine popped up during this vid.. summer before sophmore year of highschool i was just chllin in bed and shifted my moniter to face my bed and i legit watched super mkx vids all night with the window open next to me smelling the warm summer night in Montana.. never was i so stoked to watch youtube or a fighting game before...now im old as shit lol. You are the goat super, much love man.
No one will ever convince me that mortal Kombat 1 wasn’t a new Injustice game, like you said it just has that feel, when seen there clashes at the beginning and the Kameo system is obviously a side kick gimmick Which honestly would have been cool as hell
@@ryanm.8720It’s been confirmed though that this game was always meant to be Mk1, the reason it feels like Injustice is because they purposefully chose to build it in the Injustice engine. The character similarities are little more than coincidences
In my opinion NRS & WB deserve every bit of negativity that comes their way. I really am blow away by some of the slack that people have given NRS over the years now for not being able to provide us with a decent product. I think people forget that we are customers for their product and their product is sub - par at best. MK11 did this exact same thing to us. Promised a long life and years of content and updates and that is not what we got. The rug was pulled out from us by year 2. Then all the shake up at NRS and WB came out and years later we get MK1. MK1 in comparison to its rivals was completely bare bones. Missing systems that all 2024 games are coming with. IE practice mode while waiting for matches, lobbies etc. COMING SOON written in its menus for over a year. But yet no problem chugging out $10 fatalities, announcer voices and skins. Which you all fucken blindly buy while the actual product is sub fucken par. To expect that the next game made by NRS will be anything but broken, overpriced and filled with micro transactions and basically pay to win is ludacris. Not to mention the complete lack of communication that happens once the player bases realizes that the game is a hot mess. Honestly guys stop giving these companies your money. I mean it's your money do what you want with it. But stop bitching then when they cycle never changes nor the product. Why would they every do more when you just give them your money blindly.
I think the game is in a good place now, outside of the scummy f2p level microtransactions. Unfortunately it's too little too late. Oh well, I had my fun with it and got my money's worth. I definitely won't be buying another MK game day 1, that's for sure.
Mk1 was the biggest downgrades of all time. No mk11 krypt, no intros/outtros/taunts, lame multiverse story, graphics downgrade, lame skins, lame cameos. Make the mk tournament the main focus of the story mode again
But everyone enjoyed mk11 story alit say it was possibly the best in the series. I can clearly see you focus on the mk story like me but I enjoyed and loved mk11 story the most. Multiverses was good just the mk1 plot wasn't great but even that was good. I can see that you want tournaments back which I think for now would be the best idea. But getting rid of the multiverse stories would be a total downgrade based of how good mk11 was.
They had such a good line up of characters for this game to have easily be one of the best in the series, but good lord they butchered the game and that’s even an understatement for how bad this game is overall. Kameo system is one of the worst implemented gameplay design choices in any nrs game because not only does it overcomplicate the game, but it can genuinely never be balanced unlike a single fighter v fighter system like MK11 or Tekken for example, which arguably is the most balanced MK of the series. (This is not mentioning how it pushed away a lot of the casual player base because of its ridiculous mechanics and complexity. Speaking of balance, the game’s balancing has been absolutely atrocious, from being unable to fix a player side bug for many months to letting absolutely busted characters run the game for over half a year, not to mention the already pre-existing problems of the kameo system. Customization and cosmetics as well is the poorest it’s been and genuinely makes you question why you would play the game if there’s barely any progression for the characters you play. The monetization also just doesn’t make any sense in comparison to their previous entries like MK11 or MKX. Just saying everyone, this game really has been one of the worst fighting games I’ve seen in a long time, which sucks to say because again, this game had potential to be a really good MK game but with all the issues I’ve mentioned and possibly more I haven’t said, it shows with how many people don’t even care about this entry of the MK series as opposed to other fighting based games that are performing so much better than this game in particular. Makes me miss previous NRS titles like Injustice or MKX.
They say the opposite of love isn't actually hate; it's _indifference._ That pretty much sums up the MK franchise for me at this point... honestly, I think it would be better for all concerned if the series just quietly shuffled off into obscurity - you can only milk a dead cow for so long..!
It's almost like people don't like playing or watching Mortal Kombat 1. People are more interested in the negativity surrounding the game, than the game itself.
If the rumors are true about mk1 not having no more content after these last two characters then they need to do a major overhaul on this game make it more fun to play with crazy ish in it with adding new stuff to all characters and kameos IMO
Rushed? Lack of creativity paired W laziness. If you go back to when the game first came out; there was this great idea-- A Lui Kang universe! Assist characters; so more MK Characters could be represented! Great in theory, Crappy/Lazy execution. ....then the very worst thing- offline content. MK lost their base audience because of those things. You are awesome though ; thank you Super
Mortal Kombat 1. Had a terrible year this year. Disappointment is an understatement. Every time a DLC character dropped there was always issues. It got to the point where I didn't even care anymore. I just got tired of the endless bugs, it just became less fun. I found myself playing Tekken way more than Mortal Kombat and that sad. I've been playing Mortal Kombat since I was seven. I'm really hoping that 2025 is a better year, but, the way NRS is going, I doubt it. I appreciate you dropping all the videos that you've had this year. It was very entertaining and getting your perspective was informative. I hope you have a happy New Year. Thank you, super 😎✌🏾❤️
A lot of Casuals left early. Top players keep saying they think MK1 gameplay is good, but you'd find casuals don't like it. They changed EX moves to be a just input from the easy input. Reddit was full of people saying they could not do simple combos on account of this. Also the Kameos make it that you cant really learn the matchup - you also have to weave them into your combos with tight timing. What appeals to the better players and casuals is not the same. Add to that the bad pricing and boring offline.
You bring up an interesting point, but dear lord i hope MK doesn’t listen to the causal audience. People complaining about the amplify change were just terrible at the game. The reason why the mk11 amplify sucked was because it created fake 50/50s, which was insane considering this is the same game with horrid anti airs, insanely plus jump kicks, overpowered uppercuts, horrible breaker system, passive meter, and absurd zoning. I believe the way to keep casuals is to offer them offline gamemodes and incentives to play the game outside of kombat league. Tune gameplay to the pros or people that’ll actually care to learn it so that online matches benefit, and that causal players in their offline modes or towers can spam uppercuts, projectiles, a string or two, or whatever makes them happy. Im by no means a pro but these combos aren’t hard if people just attempt to learn them, so casuals barely have an excuse as-is in that regard. I can definitely see how the kameo system is difficult to accommodate for though, another good point that it’s a lot to ask the regular fan to learn match ups AND kameo match ups!
@@Henry-iz7ivYup. I can see why the Kameos would be overwhelming for casual players but it just annoys me how aggressive all these people are about it. It’s a really fun concept if you take the time to get good with Kameos. These people just want every game to be MKX because it doesn’t require as much skill. If the next MK is reminiscent of MKX then that would be cool, but not every game has to be.
@@rogue728i Im well aware casuals make a wide percentage of the revenue and player base, especially for Mortal Kombat. That’s why i said there needs to be actual other gamemodes and incentives for casual players. Towers of time came way too late, but had that been present at launch or invasions was just more intuitive i strongly believe the casual audience would be more inclined to continue playing. As of now, you were incentivized to do invasions once (no longer with repeating seasons), and then kombat league for more skins, but kombat league is probably the last thing a casual wants to sit there and grind
I ve been watching your videos since MKX when I was a bloody noob at fighting games. You really helped me out a lot and I ve always enjoyed your videos. For me, the times where you played Injustice 2 was the most fun to watch. Thank you too for everything ❤
I think it's good the fan base is speaking out because honestly I love this franchise and I want to see it succeed. Me personally I was happy with the story expansion there were some things I didn't like though but I loved Havik as the ultimate bad guy but hate that Noob was the one to kill him off. Regardless of what the internet says I really hope there's a Kombat pack 3 with a third story expansion
Been watching you since I was a middle schooler and I completely agree about enjoying the gameplay of mk1 but everything else being lackluster, however this game has a place in my heart because I matched up with you and played a few rounds with you and then you posted the video and I still couldn’t believe it. Thanks for sticking with the mk games though the bumps in the road.
Imma be real, MKX to me is kinda overrated. People forget how broken it was at release and that game feels much more like an ESports title than MK11 or MK1. The game was overly fast paced and the learning curve for casual players was very high. I loved MKX too, so it’s not that I’m just hating on it. I’ve played every MK since the first one. If we’re being unbiased and thinking on a wider range of players, MK11 was the best one to release because you didn’t have to be ultra dedicated to the game to get good at it. If you’re an ultra competitive player MKX is the game for you because of the exploits
@@CrossfitWarrior Yeah, the people that claim MK11 was boring are just pulling that from nowhere. The game was far from boring and had a lot of content, but competitive players complained because in MK11 you didn’t have to spend 1000 hours to understand the game. What’s funny is they also complain if it’s too much to do in the game as well. If MKX released now I can be sure that a lot of people wouldn’t like it just like when it first came out. Look at the hate SFV got when it came out…it deserved the hate at the very beginning because the game wasn’t finished, but that game had a complete turnaround and people wanted to hate it just because it was cool to do in the beginning. The complaint was “there’s no combo variety in SFV” well….look at SF6….I haven’t seen ANYTHING groundbreaking in SF6 and everyone is doing the same stuff with every character lol so now you have people going back to SFV
@@rhinocheese7831 Like I said, you must not remember when MKX launched. That game has been broken as hell for the majority of its lifecycle. MKX didn’t turn into the game people loved until it was pretty much the end of it’s lifecycle. That game was too fast for most casual players and the learning curve was too high. Not to mention how manh exploits were in MKX. People look at that game through rose tinted glasses because people like Maximilian Dood who wasn’t ever a fan of the franchise loved how broken it was and he himself didn’t like launch MKX. Sonic Fox is who made that game seem cooler than it really was and guess what….he abused exploits and then afterwards everybody truly tried their best to exploit the game with Erron Black, Tanya, Predator, and Alien. Then Jason Voorhees and Leatherface
Great video....Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t feel bad for NetherRealm because the design decisions are on them, not Warner Bros. This includes character designs, the Kameo mechanic, gender-swapped characters, and overall gameplay. While Warner Bros. may have pushed for microtransactions and rushed development, the rest of the choices were made by NetherRealm. So, both are at fault.... keep up the great work.
was a freshman in high school when i found your channel and now im 23 getting married. i also got the privilege to be apart of one of your injustice 2 videos during covid. GL vs Darkseid. i’ll never forget it man lol if u remember lilassniffer, thats me 😅
The theory that this game was orginally designed to be injustice 3 makes so much sense. Clashes intros, Kameos that could have been side kick super heroes.
I blame WB for the state of the game down to how the game was announced, pushed out earlier than it should or suppose to, and the micro transactions. WB been trash for long time now and now bringing that trash to MK
I completely agree, MK11 feels to me like it was some other game before they scrambled and turned it into MK11. I don't know if it was an injustice game, it might have been some sort of "WB All-stars teamup" kind of game since if they really scrambled to get this done, they must have had most of these high-quality models already done. What is obvious to me is that this was put together incredibly hastily and it ended up being this mess.
Super, I think we have to stop defending NRS everytime like ''Yeah, they had good intentions but that evil WB always fucks them''. With this attitude no matter what NRS does they will always feel like they have their fans backs. They will never improve on things that are lacking. They will be producing half baked games, put a premium price tag and leave the game in that state for eternity. Im willing to pay good money for a good MK game but I just cannot accept that every next MK feels like they don't learn anything. Four years of production time is enough to implement a basic fucking thing like Onlien Rooms for God's sake!!! They dont have to reinvent the wheel everytime they make a new game. For example: I main Liu Kang in every MK game. MK1 Liu is the most boring, dull Liu I have ever played. He is less interesting than in MK11 wich already was boring as fuck. Mk11 Liu was less interesting version of MKX Liu too. So why not use moveset and special moves of MKX Liu when he was the best? NRS is wasting time reimagining already existing characters while they already have them in pretty good state but in previous games. Ofcourse they can change few things here and there but we dont have to start from the scratch. Its a waste of time wich they clearly lack. Sorry for any grammar errors. Cheers!
Played like 450+ hours and around 4000 matches online. Last time I booted the game up was to try out Takeda and never went back. I wish the game would have panned out but definitely needed more time in development
I’m not a mortal kombat player nor am I a fighting game player in general but I always watch almost every one of your videos , somehow I like the way you play and talk. Keep doing what you do brother
Ghost Face looks like one of those shadow priests from Mortal Kombat II. I do want to say whatever did happen to those shadow priest wizards, had not seen one in an MK game since Deception.
I started watching Super when I picked up MK11 because I wanted to learn how to get better. I don't play any fighting games anymore, but I still never miss a Super video
Its pretty clear that leadership at Warner Bros needs to change. The biggest problem with every IP they own is they are always working at a deficit in comparison to the competition. There is this absolute refusal on David Zaslov's part to step back and just focus on making everything they are working on to be as great as it possibly can be. Decisions that are being made are always in reaction to what competitors are doing. Not having a grasp on consumers and following the wrong trends especially at a time when inflation and economic instability is at play in the world. The entertainment industry as a whole is having this problem. The movie theater business is dying, cable is dying, the way we all consume content is drifting strictly digital exclusively. It should not be about forcing out unfinished products on a hard deadline to get ahead of a competitor. It should not be about getting the most out of something per unit with microtransactions which is killing the gaming business. It should be about selling as many units as possible and keep them playing at a reasonable price and rewarding those that stay.
its because the game started out so awful, they should've just delayed by a year or two. how do you not even have public rooms to fight others at launch when games from 20 years ago had them...
It was clear MK1 was suppose to be injustice 3 but injustice may not be a thing anymore. It might be called something else. James gunn said in his interview way back that he wanted anything dc (movies, series, games) to all connect
I stopped playing this game in late September and planned to come back but I just can’t. Not only is it just way too much to install on console but there’s still just nothing new or exciting about it. It really had so much potential and now it’s all gone. Mk is in a sad state rn man
things i noticed in attention to detail they seem to get lazier and lazier mkx human and revenant had diff voices and diff dialog, mk11 had same voices with same dialog, mk1 they took 1 line of dialog out even used to be 3 speech dialogs then in mk1 down to 2
Hello super I have been watching your videos for over a year and you are the reason I bought this game and started up a RUclips channel. Keep going because I look forward to more videos
When the next MK game comes out I think they should just use MKX as a base and then make changes/tweaks and add or take away things from there. Hopefully they don’t run into a similar situation like they did with MK1 but I also wouldn’t mind seeing a new fighting game that isn’t MK or Injustice.
I remember feeling like something wasn’t right at launch. Overtime I realized it’s just the lack of charm? Idk what the right word is. I felt like the graphics didn’t look as good as MK11. Too focused on realism rather than making the characters look cool. No intros, no offline play, no krypt, hell there aren’t even any customization options really. Didn’t even know the dlc existed. I enjoyed the base game story up until they pulled some bs at the end and made both sides have massive armies for no reason lol
It was a rough year but the season 2 characters were mad fun. Hopefully it receives another dlc wave because this game could really shine with a few more patches and characters/kameos.
It’s a shame. I was SO hyped up by the first trailer. I bought the new Xbox for this game. And I stopped playing it after approximately 5 weeks. Maybe a little over a month. Kameo was just annoying. We gotta get back to the garage metal/techno era. This ultra colorful multi verse orchestra mk just isn’t it. Maybe I’m just old now
Hard to hate on games I don’t play, but I’ve been a subscriber since mkx and I feel like that gameplay has never been replicated. It just was so much more fast paced and the graphics (besides the backgrounds) felt more natural. Everybody looks like a cartoony mocapped person now and it’s gone uncanny. Idk if I’m alone with that but I truly think mkx even looks better than 11 and 1’s weird art style. To be fair, I only ever watch super play.
@@marcelldaubenhauser2397 MKX looked like a 'Mortal Kombat' game though. Everything was gloomy and oppressive in that game. It was cold and scary looking. MK11, and especially MK1, look way too bright and clean. All the danger seems gone in those games. But, i actually really like the gameplay of MK1.
since we don't have an all out focused 2v2 mk game i think that should be the next gameplay style with its own core gameplay mechanics and bring back some elements from each MK game starting from mk9 to mk1 like neutral jump punch from mk9 and either dash cancels or run from mkx and have at least about 8 to 10 special moves for each character so we can pick our own move sets like in mk11 but without restriction on the moves and i guess air combos from mk1 and possibly add 1v1 as a secondary mode while keeping all the other mechanics except the 2v2 mechanics that would be kool to have and im kool with the other way around too with a 1v1 with its own core gameplay with those elements from those game i listed and having 2v2 be the secondary game mode
That’s the power of a bad game it really gives you a different perspective. I literally started playing SF6 and even looked into the broader FGC with how bad this game was
The arcade Mortal Kombat games had 'clashes', but they were just static pics. They were awesome though. You got these large, detailed pics of the characters. Its not exactly the same thing, but id consider it a 'clash' screen.
I usually just play story mode and yikes this one was awful. It's literally Marvel. And i saw chaos reign has havok using the kamidogu like fkn infinity stones??? Wow the first dlc i wont buy
The game released without basics mk has always had. Online practice was gone that wound me up as i like to lab with friends. Then the rooms were gone to. Definitely rushed to meet deadlines.
Awesome video super been watching you forever on multiple accounts through the years love your content man keep it up you’re the only mortal combat/injustice RUclipsr ive ever watched 😅
The biggest issue with mk1 is the mistep worh the single player content. It is too dependent on an online connection to unlock literally anything. Just today i tried an invasions tower, completed it, only to get a disconnect from the mk server and get no rewards. I have fiber and the connection didnt drop but why is there even a network check after this offline gameplay? There is also a problem with not even knowing what rewards you are going to get so i dont even know why im playing 90% of the time. This was not the case im mk11. You could always see what a tower was going to give you and decide to put time into it, there were multiple locked items in the crypt that you could work towards that would gaurantee an item for a character you wanted so you knew what to grind for. The shrine does not just constantly hold content and you can clear out the shrine for each season in a few hours if you dont just have leftover currency to clear the second there is more stuff. I hate this singleplayer direction. The cosmetics that are given for free should not be so precious and so random in mk1 especially when they arent even charging for the basic pallettes so why is there no clear way to get them? Its terrible and there is no saving that aspect even though the gameplay is solid.
I think it would be cool to see you venture out to other games now like Marvel Rivals which actually has some pretty complex melee characters who operate like fighting game characters or if you want to stay in the fgc loop maybe a new fighter, tekken 8 is going into its 2nd season soon idk just anything other than mk or injustice would be nice to see cause netherrealms hasn't been on the ball at all for the past 3 games now
I’m worried for the future. The good will NRS had is gone. Nobody will buy their next game unless it’s a verified 5-star masterpiece. If they make a single mistake, gender swap, micro transaction, NRS will be looking at bankruptcy.
Yeah I remember watching ur mkx/mk11 videos afterschool trying to learn combos or just chillin with some food watching comfortable af on my bed…gud times fr😅
Love this game ….. hate the Suits for WB greediness…… disappointed for the reaction instead of unity . Great job on your content and your love of the franchise 🙌🙏
I think the light & happy tone of Mk1 mixed with the fact that the characters are basically new reduces interests … It makes Mk1 as a whole seem inconsequential . i don’t even remember if anybody truly died in the story … even Bi han just got “turned” 😪
I think this was just a test subject to try something new/Switch up their traditional way of making a mortal kombat game, Which Sucks because regardless we’re gonna support any mortal kombat game, so it’s good to have these type of conversations amongst eachother
I hate how everyone blames on not enough time. They could’ve used MK11 shit instead of adding bullshit like Kameos. They broke this game and NRS fucked it up.

The lesson should be don’t drop MK on a tekken release year ever again
If they were smart they'd drop KP3 and another story expansion and big update with stage fatalities, online lobbies, more modes, and Onaga as the true final boss. They can still save this game if they really want to.

Yes exactly lol
bruh, EXACTLY! MK11 was a great game but with terrible mechanics, all characters felt permanently nerfed and extremely limited. But the rest of the game was almost perfect (except for the Sindel retcon)

You got that wrong Mk11 is more fun to play.
My feelings also. And i pre ordered🥲
I sold the game after like 2 weeks of owning it
Same yup
Literally same for me never even brought the game because of the combat system they did
Same Mk1, felt out of place like it has an identity issue. The music doesn't even hit the same as a Mortal Kombat sound track.
Honestly seeing that mk11 has a higher player count than mk1 tells me everything I need to know
Man i loved MK11 so much 😭 I played 10 as well, but the replayability of 11 with towers to unlock things and ranked seasons with cool new skins kepts me hooked! Every season I'd pick a new main and grind to the top

MK11 has always been greatness, people need to realize that
That’s what I’m saying all the crazy customization alone made me pick up so many characters I never would have otherwise
MK11 was the best modern MK game! Graphics are still beautiful and it came out in 2019 👍
The worst part for me is that ghostface was wasted on this game. One of my most anticipated characters for an MK game and it was for this game.

T100 will be cool but they could of picked better people
Should've made the sektor/cyrax kameos female, and the main ones male.
Deadass. No Jax, no Sonya, no thank you.
Not in everyone game, he is mIssin' in MK1, Sonya and Jade felt more disrespectful to me, my favorite female characters are missin'.
I know it sucks to not have your favorite character in the game especially if it's someone you're used to have in previous titles but the truth is that history has shown that the only real staples in the franchise are Sub-Zero and Scorpion.
This is one of the main reasons I dropped mk1. I tried to pick up reiko but his personality sucks and game plan is boring. And f the cameo system

I feel it’s a bit stupid for WB to just axe future plans for MK1 and get the next game in development if there’s no sign of introspection for NRS. WHY did you have to axe Kombat pack 3? Why did the DLC underperform? Why were players so unimpressed with this title?
Exactly. What exactly does WB think will go differently with the next title if they don't learn from their mistakes?
For real. They need to learn from their mistakes
Why do you feel bad for the devs? They hated their own game so much they didn’t even do a single belt matched in a Kombat Kast.
Yea the cameo system isn't bad it's innovative but I think the way you can switch between 2 characters in mk9 is better
If you are enjoying it. That's great. Despite my personal feelings towards MK1, I will never bash anyone who genuinely enjoys it.
I’m glad that there’s other people enjoying the game as I do this game is definitely a big step up from mk11 the gameplay and the combos are more faster meanwhile MK11 was slow but I also enjoyed that game as well

No one will ever convince me that mortal Kombat 1 wasn’t a new Injustice game, like you said it just has that feel,
when seen there clashes at the beginning and the Kameo system is obviously a side kick gimmick
Which honestly would have been cool as hell
Problem is: injustice 2 sold too less of copies. Injustice as a franchise might be cooked forever, especially since WB has had too many flops already.
Also; Reptile (Syzoth) and General Shao are basically Killer Croc and Steppenwolf respectively.
They say the opposite of love isn't actually hate; it's _indifference._
That pretty much sums up the MK franchise for me at this point... honestly, I think it would be better for all concerned if the series just quietly shuffled off into obscurity - you can only milk a dead cow for so long..!

You acting like casuals don't make them the mosy money games go to shit when they listen to "pros" a very samll portion of players look at R6S

There's not that many rational comments on here to read. Thanks
Couldn't agree more. Don't see why mkx gets so much glaze. I preferred 11 over them both
Mkx was free flowing with amazing pace. Mk11 was so linear with terrible movement and pacing

Ive been here since super man was your intro Lmao Love you dude keep it up we both came from cod but i still snipe it up
Its the cameo system. Everyone hates the cameo bs. The fatalaties are boring
Man i hope mk1 would be better on 2025 if they add my pookie bear cassie and kung jin to kp3 that would save mk1 maybe will see ☺️🥰👍🏼🤞🏼
Super, I think we have to stop defending NRS everytime like ''Yeah, they had good intentions but that evil WB always fucks them''.
For example:
I main Liu Kang in every MK game.
Cheers!
Crazy to think that Mk1 came out in 2023. I feel like it just came out sometimes.
Time truly does fly.
Warner Bros having NRS quickly move to the next doesn’t make me want to purchase any future games. Who’s to say this won’t happen again?
Played like 450+ hours and around 4000 matches online. Last time I booted the game up was to try out Takeda and never went back. I wish the game would have panned out but definitely needed more time in development
6:50 Ermac is definitely one of my favorites so I don’t know how so many people don’t really like him
Maybe the grab range or the shield where he doesn't take damage. He's still fun to play and fight against to figure out his fifty/fifty's
Sorry 1 didn't pull views, super. There will be a game everyone can enjoy. Keep uploading.
I really enjoy these videos were you are keeping it real, keep ‘em coming
I feel like the problem with this game is that it was kind of supposed to be the better version of MK11, but it turned out to be just another MK11.
I’m convinced at this point that MKX can never be bested
Woah woah MK11 is much better than this game take ur time
I’m not even excited for future games anymore all good will is lost for me
It was clear MK1 was suppose to be injustice 3 but injustice may not be a thing anymore. It might be called something else. James gunn said in his interview way back that he wanted anything dc (movies, series, games) to all connect
When I dropped the franchise because they changed scorpion's identity, I did not expect it to fail this bad. Happy happenstance
Mk9 had broken shit mkx had broken shit. Mk11 had dumb mechanics and mk1 just had all of those together and nrs said “let’s mess this game up bad.”
Maybe I’m just old now
Mk11 was awesome
Hard to hate on games I don’t play, but I’ve been a subscriber since mkx and I feel like that gameplay has never been replicated. It just was so much more fast paced and the graphics (besides the backgrounds) felt more natural. Everybody looks like a cartoony mocapped person now and it’s gone uncanny. Idk if I’m alone with that but I truly think mkx even looks better than 11 and 1’s weird art style. To be fair, I only ever watch super play.
In no universe can you say MKX looks better than MK11 OR MK1. What are you smoking cheif?
@@marcelldaubenhauser2397 MKX looked like a 'Mortal Kombat' game though. Everything was gloomy and oppressive in that game. It was cold and scary looking. MK11, and especially MK1, look way too bright and clean. All the danger seems gone in those games. But, i actually really like the gameplay of MK1.
@@mohammadrahman8263every mortal kombat game is cartoony and colorful except mkx
since we don't have an all out focused 2v2 mk game i think that should be the next gameplay style with its own core gameplay mechanics and bring back some elements from each MK game starting from mk9 to mk1 like neutral jump punch from mk9 and either dash cancels or run from mkx and have at least about 8 to 10 special moves for each character so we can pick our own move sets like in mk11 but without restriction on the moves and i guess air combos from mk1 and possibly add 1v1 as a secondary mode while keeping all the other mechanics except the 2v2 mechanics that would be kool to have and im kool with the other way around too with a 1v1 with its own core gameplay with those elements from those game i listed and having 2v2 be the secondary game mode
Game was trash. I HATED MK11.... but now I see that it's a classic compared to this dumpster fire.
Ong MK11 actually feels like a legit MK game. This game kind of feels like a joke. It doesn’t take itself too seriously.
That’s the power of a bad game it really gives you a different perspective. I literally started playing SF6 and even looked into the broader FGC with how bad this game was
don't worry, you'll be saying mk1 is the best when the new one comes out.
😂
@@envystxxnobody is gonna be saying MK1 is the better game...
NRS’s talent with Mortal Kombat is gone .
Yeah I remember watching ur mkx/mk11 videos afterschool trying to learn combos or just chillin with some food watching comfortable af on my bed…gud times fr😅
Forever a fan 🫡
Love this game ….. hate the Suits for WB greediness…… disappointed for the reaction instead of unity . Great job on your content and your love of the franchise 🙌🙏
I think the light & happy tone of Mk1 mixed with the fact that the characters are basically new reduces interests … It makes Mk1 as a whole seem inconsequential .
i don’t even remember if anybody truly died in the story … even Bi han just got “turned” 😪
It baffles me how this game wasnt released for last gen consoles, but got a switch port
I played the video in 1.5 speed. Unironically, the gameplay finally looked fun, that's how fast the gameplay should've been.
