Quebec has received $250bn more in transfer payments than they’ve input since the program’s inception. Interprovincial welfare has the same effect on a province as welfare handouts on individuals. Rewards bad behaviour, creates inefficiencies, disincentives Quebec from developing their own natural resources etc.

The provinces had ALL of covid to know what was coming. In parliament even I knew from barely payting attention that CPP payements were being covered by general taxes because we didnt have the working population.
And most true is what Harper pulled, which was allowing industry to hire foreign workers after only advertising for local workers for two weeks. During covid many of our seniors were working in the fast food industry, now mostly east Indian. Nothing against immigration, but what happened to the workers who were doing it before?
Good grief, on media both mainstream and alternatie I hear more about what the feds are doing than our provincial government, which doesn't seem to be doing ANYTHING. And local governmetns are even worse. Hell, as bad as Trudeau is, compared to the provinces and municipalities he's doing a bang up job as far as legislation goes, because they aren't doing Squat.

Trudeau caused the problem by letting millions of people into the country knowing that there was not enough housing for all of them. ALL the so called legislation he has done has done very little to solve the problem. When did not have this problem when Harper was in power so quit blaming him. CPP is covered by the contributions of the working people and their employers and has nothing to do with general taxes.

CPP wasn't supposed to be covered by the working population. The money was meant to be put aside, invested, grown and paid out to retiring Canadians. Where's the money? We've paid into it our entire working lives, so where is it?

The CPP is covered by the contributions of the worker and the employer. The more you contribute the more you will receive. The money is invested and paid out when you retire( age 60 or later) The value of the investments in the CPP were over $570 billion in 2023@@Demmie-nl2qh
